After making yet another coffee this morning, I thought I'll finally write a review. I've been using it for 6 years and I can say that this is excellent value for money (Paid 118GBP back in 2011). Keep in mind that this is a simple, reliable espresso maker so don't expect fancy dials, options etc., but having said that it's been built to last! My only 2 objections are: machine is quiet light so sometimes it's tricky to hold it down while tightening coffee holder and also for the same reasons machine can vibrate especially if not 'descaled' for a long time. Apart from worked flawlessly.

Standard traditional coffee maker, takes a bit of getting used to but once mastered makes a lovely cup of coffee. It is worth noting that this does make quite a lot of noise and can make a mess if you aren't quick enough! The only drawback I found after awhile was the pressure adjustments..ie.sometimes you had to wait to make the milk straight after making a coffee etc. Otherwise very sturdy and very good.

I am a HUGE coffee fan, and this machine is the closest you will get to a coffee shop coffee!
For the price, I think this is an amazing piece of kit. You get plenty of accessories, and the little cup heater on the top is absolutely awesome.
Works brilliantly with the coffee grinder by DeLonghi too.
Would highly recommend if you are a coffee fan, and looks beautiful on the counter too.
Not too big, and not too small, and has a decent reservoir for water.

Its not my first time to own a De’longhi coffee maker, and they have never disappointed me.

This is my second machine, the first having expired after 6 years hard work. This machine is better than the last, producing a great espresso and the steamer is really good. Not only that it looks pretty cool anway with it's retro design. Also Great Value for money from Amazon. The machine came from Itay quicker than expected and I would recommend it to anyone.

Before buying this machine I researched and drank plenty of coffee and this machine was one of the best.

It was working well initially, but after just a few months, the milk steamer stopped working completely! You have to wait quite awhile for the steamer to be ready after the espresso has been used. Disappointing!

good whilst it lasted ! --- pump gave out after only ten months , not happy !supplier BEN MADIGAN could not even bother to reply to request forrefund ( which any major store would not quibble over ) So have had to purchase anew machine -- NOT De`Longhi --- and certainly NOT from Ben Madigan .Previous De`Longhi lasted many years ---?!!! but then ; not purchased from Ben Madigan !

Bought it as a birthday present for my husband! He loves it!

De'Longhi Icona... where do I start?I bought this product over 3 years ago and I have used it virtually every day since. The build quality is fantastic, it looks very smart (I bought the red version), its easy to clean and requires virtually no maintenance.The manual does say to de-calcify once every 6-12 months but I have never needed to and there are no signs of calcification.Great quality at a very reasonable price and I would definitely buy it again should it ever stop working.

Only used it a couple of times in the last few months. Takes too long to make a cup of coffee, too long to clean.

PLEASE,PLEASE. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. making coffee to-day and it went BANG boiling hot water seeped over filter and smoke came out of top of machine,I called my husband who quickly pulled out the plug,in that short period of time the machine was so hot that you could not touch it and the red colour started changing. half an hour later you could say it was warm.God knows what would have happened if I had left the kitchen. I have had this machine for 2yrs and it has been nothing but a pain.It has had little use maybe once a day,and has been descaled regularly,and cleaned.All I can say that I am here to tell the tale and my kitchen was not burned down.YOU have been warned,DO NOT BUY>

The item was incomplete - there was no water tank and, despite polite phone conversations, the suppliers failed to rectify this leaving the product unusable!!!

I bought this on the basis of good reviews on which and amazon, but unfortunately it has been extremely disappointing. These are the main issues:
1. The supposed double shot coffee holder is tiny. I measured it against my previous machine and it is at least 25% smaller.
2. The milk frother squirts water out even when the light is on indicating that it shoudl be producing steam. This means that every cup of coffee becomes watery and dilute.
3. I prefer to use a milk frother without the additional 'cappuccino system' but when you do so on this machine (which you are supposed to be able to do), the whole frother flies off and covers you in milk and hot water
4. De'longhi customer service is appalling.

Although it looks pretty and sits smartly in the kitchen the functionality leaves a lot to be desired. I have been through two of these machines now, and the same thing happens each time: The frother is temperamental and hot water spits out from beneath the coffee pod and I rarely get anything like an espresso out of it. This is not through overloading it with ground coffee, or because the coffee is of the wrong consistency, or through any other user error. I have had the current model just under 3 years, and I would say that it started to have problems after a year. I won't be replacing it with another De'Longhi Icona that is for sure!

I found the coffee not creamy enough. The machine works well though and it is easy to use and clean.
