Too much effort just for a coffee

Had one of these for four years, was replaced during that time, and both died. Coffee never gets hot but does taste like real coffee. Poor quality machines that are not worth the money, save up and buy a proper coffee machine, certainly wish we had☹️☹️☹️

Lasted less than 1 month, made about 20 frothy coffees, now all it produces is steam. At best i would say this is a coffee maker with warm milk.
If you do decide to buy one put the coffee in the cup as apparently this is what blocks the machine up, rendering it useless.

Found this very time consuming and bad smell from water home which gives bad taste to the drinks

Having purchased this as a Christmas present I am very disappointed to have to now return it. The machine works fine apart from not having a gauge on the water tank so you can monitor the level, the problem is the awful metallic taste in the coffee. We tried running the cleaning program numerous times as well as cleaning the machine with bicarb, washing up liquid and lemon, the taste is still there, in fact it seems to be getting worse !. Have returned the machine and bought a Severin 500 ml Induction Milk Frother instead, which works brilliantly and doesn't taste awful.

I've had this a few weeks now, at first there was a strong plastic smell and taste from the steam cap and washer which tainted the coffee. Tried everything from bleach, lemon juice, bicarbonate etc to remove it without success. Finally after a few weeks use the plastic taste has started to diminish. Also mine arrived without a water cleaning jug making cleaning difficult as not many containers balance in the tray safely.A shame as it's otherwise a great way of making cappuccino easily.

Made good cup of coffee , easy to use . The one down side is that the coffee has a metallic taste , I guess that this will wear off after a while , its just the newness of the machine.

Good value for moneybut a bit primitive technology

this Breville cappuccino maker is brilliant does as it says and makes better cappuccino coffee than some coffee shops sell.it is quick and easy to use and makes a range of hot drinks not just cappuccino a recipe booklet comes with machine. howeverit is prone to breaking down after about 6 to 8 weeks even though all the cleaning of the machine is carried out as directed in the instructions after a while the machine starts to go wrong first it start making one cup and when you go to make the second cup all you get is steam from the dispenser and it will not take up the contents of the milk tank. if you turn the machine off wait about 20 minutes the machine will go through the cleaning cycle and empty the milk tank as it should. then if you try and make coffee again you may get 1or 2 cups coffee before the whole problem resurfaces and all you get is steam. after that the water and coffee start to come out the back of the machine and not the dispenser causing a hazard i t is a shame as i really liked this machine and i gave it the benifit of doubht and repurchased the machine after the last 2 machines both went the same way so i guess the problem is within the design as there are no user servicable parts you cant even see where the problem lies within the machine all you can do is return it for a refund..

It's good but drinks are never hot only get warm

Not happy with it,it don't make the drinks hot,not as good as I thought,a friend even got one from you and hers is the same,the drinks R just warm slightly.would not buy one again.

Nightmare to clean. Coffee not nice. Tried to get refund but was refused. Do not buy.

tried to make a cop of cappochino coffee as instructed with the booklet but can I noway get a froth on the top how much I triedIt is a complete failure.

Delighted with my purchase. Had a machine before and it broke after being used so much. Great machine and the fact you don't have to buy expensive capsules to make cappuccino is great

Cappuccion not very hot

I had this cappuccino maker as a Christmas present last year (2013). I do agree with an earlier post that it does leave a taste of metal or even water in each cup, almost tastes different with each cup. I find that you have to clean it out, then make one coffee and throw it, then make a second and you get a cappuccino taste. I still don't think it's that great and at £60-80 I feel there are better products out there for the same price.There is one massive flaw in this product, this is when cleaning out the machine and in particular opening the cap where the water goes in (for you coffee). It states in the manual to leave it for a least 45mins after making a coffee before unscrewing the water section as the water may still be hot. I had left the machine for 2.5hrs before unscrewing the top. Often it will let out a small bit of steam with isn't a surprise, but this time the cap exploded of the machine and shot boiling water and boing steam up into the air and more importantly all over my wrist and arm. My whole arm was burnt red and my wrist caught the worse of it. That evening the pain excruciating and a huge blister appeared over my wrist. I couldn’t deal with the pain and in the end I had to go to hospital; it was also New Year’s Eve so you can imagine it wasn't the best timing! I was in utter shock at how loud the top blew off the machine and what damaged it had caused to my skin.I have only used the machine once since this happened and have now put it in the garage ready to take to the tip. I may have been unlucky with the machine and I'm not one for leaving companies bad feedback if unjust, but I would be very cautious with unscrewing the water cap, leave it at least 3hrs or so to be on the safe side if you do plan to buy. Other than that, the coffee still wasn’t that great so is it really worth the purchase?

Not happy with this cappuccino maker found it to have a metallic aftertaste which takes away the whole enjoyment of the drink.
