Beautiful.. only one thing. It’s damaged.
Carboni francescaUnbelievable... after the 5th time using the plastic base ring broken. I wish I had never bought such expensive mixer for
AlessandraWe have had to return this product due to the bowl getting stuck. Other people have had the same problem so it may be due to a design flaw.
AnonI spent a long time researching which high-end mixer to buy and ended up choosing a KMix. It as been a huge mistake. The dial you turn to start the mixer worked intermittently when I bought the item - I was told by the helpline this was a safety feature and due to the bowl not being secure. This is not the case and the dial no longer works at all. Also, the rubber on the dough mixer split after about six months. The item is now out of warrantee and Kenwood have given me details of a company who do out of guarantee repairs - they are going to charge me £90 just to look at it and all parts are charged on top of that. I would save your money and buy a cheaper mixer elsewhere - I really don't think the KMix engineering is any good and they are not worth the price.
Amazon CustomerGlass bowl shipped 2nd time I used it at bottoms - very upset and disappointed
Charne DunlopThe mixer itself does the job well, however there is a seriously irritating design fault that has been mentioned in many reviews before mine. There is a plastic element at the bottom of the glass bowl that ensures that the bowl sits properly in the mixer. After a mere 4 months, the plastic ring decided to wave goodbye to the glass bowl and spend the rest of its life attached to the mixer base in 'lock' position, so the bowl was stuck in the mixer base. When I reached out to customer service, they eventually organised for the mixer to be sent off to their repair centre (this took a month). I was told that the repair would be done in 30 days and that I'd receive updates by text. Now it's been a month and a half since and I still don't have my mixer or any news about the repair, despite having sent multiple emails to customer services begging for information.
asdfdDon’t recommend this product at all. I have had a kenwood mixer for over 10 years. This year for Christmas I decided to update and get the new model. I can’t complain about the actual use of it, it’s quiet and beats a lot of air into the mixture so that is great. But having recently returned to work after having a child I haven’t actually baked much. I have literally maybe made 5/6 cakes with it in the time I have had it. I have followed all the care instructions to the letter and yet by the second use the plastic rim around the base had a crack in it. When I went to use it today (for roughly the 5th time) the whole plastic base had come off.As from the second wash the whisk attachment looked like the photo attached. Unacceptable for any item, it particularly one this expensive. I have tired to contact kenwood directly to register my disatisfaction but their website is very unuser friendly and only provided me with a number to call when what I wanted was an email address.
jearle1902I’m so disappointed by this product which looks fantastic but broke after I’d made only a few cakes. Because the beautiful glass bowl is so heavy, the plastic cuff which screws it onto the base split. When I spoke to the company they all but blamed me for not being careful enough with it. However it was a Christmas present and I’d only used it a few times - I wasn’t careless. I think It’s a design fault and I’ve now to wait 6 weeks while they send me a replacement. So disappointing!
Alison T. from LeedsThe cheap plastic ring that holds the bowl in place is rubbish have broken 2 now in less than 2 months
m swiftBought for cake making, plastic ring on base of bowl has broken after making three cakes which means the bowl won't stay still when in use, apart from that its a great mixer
Glen anzianiIt's absolutely beautiful, but the glass bowl is too big and heavy, so the materials at the bottom are rarely reached (especially for dough) so I find myself also processing the dough by hand, which is not something I would expect from such an expensive appliance. Had to spend (a lot) more money and get the steel bowl because the glass bowl looks great but very heavy and less manageable. The added plastic scraper that came with it is not good at all. Still pretty though, but not enough for it to be fully practical I guess
Orit M.The problem with it is a manufacturer issue. The mixer itself is sturdy and works great. However, the one with a glass bowl has a plastic insert to hold it into the base that broke after 2 uses- just from the mixer action. If you’re going to get one get the steel bowl that doesn’t have the plastic piece to hold the bowl in the mixer stand.
ArthurkinnelThe glass bowl was stuck after second use and was broken while I was trying to release it. It has been a common problem. I did regret having bought this
Amazon Customerthe plastic bowl ring broke after just 1 use... I like the machine but am dissappointed, still waiting for manufacturer support to reply for this, already 10 days since I reported it to them...
Dimitris DimitriouI've been using this mixer since August this year and sometimes its ok and sometimes its not. The bowl gets stuck on the base and I was thankful for a previous review which enabled me to get it off this time but basically, this shouldn't happen. I used to have a cuisinart and this never happened with that. Also, mixture gets left on the bottom and sides of the bowl which means that whatever I make in it (except pastry) has to be finished by hand which defeats the object of having an electric stand mixer. I would not buy this brand again.
Amazon CustomerThis was a replacement for my 25 year old battle weary Kenwood Chef, we returned it after just using it once as the 'removable' collar that secures the bowl to the mixer could not be removed. After time this would have filled with grime because you cannot get the water out of the collar without removing it.The slightly yellowed 25 year old Kenwood Chef is forgiven and back in use.
Hayley FoggonThe motor makes a grinding noise when it is working, and the plastic ring that locates the bowl has snapped. I have only had this since July and I haven't used it very much.I treated myself to a Kenwood Kmix as I have a Kenwood Chef that has been a work horse for a cake business and still works. \I think it may have been dropped during transit.I can't find how to contact Amazon to ask for a replacement rather than a refund so I hope someone will contact me after reading this review.
Amazon CustomerI bought this because it was reasonably priced compared to the likes of Kitchenaid and it looks stylish. I also know several people who've had Kenwoods for 30+ years so expected a quality product. No chance of this one lasting. The bowl got stuck to the base after a couple of uses. Customer service gave me a fix to get it off (turn hard to lock position and then as hard and fast as you can the other way for anyone who's interested) but on the next use the plastic ring on the glass bowl snapped in half. Customer service sent out a replacement. When I went to put new ring on I found the glass bowl was also broken. Awaiting a response from CS but I wouldn't recommend this product at all. It's been used a handful of times and is not up to the job
GastrogirlI wish I had read the lower reviews. This does not come any where near my last Kenwood. The glass bowl keeps getting stuck in the machine and the last time this happened the plastic holder at the bottom of the bowl split so now it will cannot be used in the machine. The manufacturer has been very slow to reply to emails for help. They could not suggest a way of getting the bowl off the machine, just offering a replacement bowl if it had broken. They have also offered to order a new plastic ring for the bottom as they are out of stock! I wonder why? I am returning this item. If I could give it a zero star rating I would!
SootyThe plastic below the glass bowl has broken itself, and without that, it doesn't attach, so it doesn't work.
