It was great but broke after 8 months, now it costs £366 to replace, won’t be buying another one

Excellent except for one major flaw.
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

It's well designed, works well but the water tastes horrible. Have eventually got it better by using 4 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda per litre on the descaling cycle four or five times. Yet to see if it delivers the electricity savings I'm looking for.

Tastes Foul
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Had the product for a week and chemical taste wouldn’t go away. Water tastes and smells like chlorine. I thought this was down to being new, however I must’ve put through 30L of boiling water it and still tastes bad. Water supply is fine and didn’t use the filter and still horrendous.. I think this is a wonderful design and probably the best for function on the market, but where was the quality control? If one person had made a coffee with this they would've sprayed it across the room. Awful.

Looks Godd But Did Not Work
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Have ahd a Hot Water Dispenser for years and decided to upgrade to this product as it had lots of extra features. Unfortunately it failed to work and had to return. it is a shame as it looks great and features could be great if it worked. Not sure if i will try it again may go abck to what I know works. Argos were great with refund process, fast and no hassle

Bit of a faf
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Generally not bad, the filter is worth having & plenty of functions, it’s big & holds a good amount of water. The water doesn’t really get hot enough, nowhere near the stated 100 degrees, can be a bit of a pain to use sometimes especially if you want to top up a cuppa, make more than 2 cups or want boiling water. Perseverance may well pay off but I returned it & went back to a decent kettle.

Not fit for purpose

Very slow at toasting and broke after 1 year. Turned it on and the glass began to spark. Potentially dangerous if I hadn’t been standing next to it.

Very disappointed

Bought this a month ago. After 10 days it was leaking like a sieve from main body. Contacted direct to be told couldn't get a replacement until June Such a shame, had last one 3 + year's. Now have had to purchase from different manufacturer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Works well, but there's a problem
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Despite this doing what it says on the tine, for some reason I don't quite understand a layer of green matter forms on the base of the water container. I have cleaned it several times and replaced the filter. Not great really and forms after a week or so. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

NOT SURE
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

this is the second one of these i have purchased and i love the fact that you can decide how much water you want but once it stops dispensing it takes far too long 30 seconds+ before you can use it again sometimes longer, thought with this being a new one it would be better but to be honest i think it's worse than the first one we bought i think for the cost of this item in future i might try a different on. Returned due to bad tasting water
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

I read the reviews and the many comments about the bad tatsting water which I ignored. I should have listened after trying for a couple of days no matter how many times I ran the system through the water always came out fowl tasting and smelling of chemicals. I tried everything from descaler to running through white vinegar and lemon multiple times. Nothing would remove the taste or smell. Returned for a refund - I won’t buy anything Murphy Richards again.

Good to start with
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Not quite 2 years on & the tank connector leaks when moving it causing limescale stains, it drips from the spouts which also scale up badly, from where I don’t know, the drip tray fills up. The led display sometime starts to fluctuate up and down as if someone is adjusting it, you get limescale in your drinks before it tells you to descale, and my water is filtered by tap as well as the Britain’s filter. When it was new it appeared brilliant, not any more I wonder if Morphy Richards actually read these reviews [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great when it works
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

We are on our second dispenser and although we like it the display stopped working after 3 weeks. The product was exchanged for a new one but from time to time the filter stops working and you have to take it out get the air flow right and put it back in. If these 2 things were resolved it would be a great product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Good when new but poor now
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

I purchased this item in October 2016 and have followed the use guidelines to the letter but the item is now failing just short of the two year guarantee!! It dispenses to much water due to the digital gauge changing of it own accord. I have discalced when the indicator comes on and changed the filter every month but still has a huge build up of scale around the outlet, the tank leaks when removed and it drips hot water from the spouts. It will be interesting to see if they honour the guarantee! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This should be withdrawn from sale!
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

After reading the "aged" reviews about the bad odour and taste that taints the water, I felt that the problem would have been solved by now. Bought one, delivered 4th September 2018, it will be returned 5th September. A dreadful product. Beware. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The taste is disgusting!
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

I purchased one two weeks ago and sent back because of the bad taste. This was replaced but again the same problem is there. Looking at all the reviews and feedback it seems to have been going on for ages! Why? It is a great product but if the drinks are undrinkable what is the point. Morphy Richards sort it out! Looks good
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

On my second heater, the first one despite Descaling, testing the water quality and contacting Yorkshire water for any local problems produced chemically tasting water when dispensed despite the water tasting perfectly ok when boiled in a normal kettle, I see other reviews with the same problem, such a shame it looks good and works well except for the very funny taste, in the throes of contacting MR again, they are very helpful but not solving the problem.
