Amazon offers INVALID!!!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I bought this machine, as Amazon advertised that there was "upto £300 cash back" on these machines. The day the machine arrived I applied for the cashback only to find that the cashback at Sage applicances expired almost 2 weeks before. Sage were totaly un sympathetic to the situation. BEWARNED!! I know I need to send this to the Advertising Standard Authority.

Only brews at 55c - sent 2 back
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I wanted so much to like this machine but after noticing the Luke warm espresso (yes I warmed all the parts first ) I decided to measure the water temp and found it to be 55c or 130f . This is way too low to brew coffees / I returned the first one and then the second one was the same. I got the sage engineer out to look at it and he changed the heating unit and it was still only reaching 55. So sent it back and have gone for an oracle. To conclude -Grinds and steams really well but all the espressos were cool and bitter.

after 3 months of using this maschone i have to say that i am not very happy. The idea is good and i really like the looks of this maschine. But i bought it to make good coffee and thats not possible. At least with my maschine. The extraction is always different because the grinder doenst do a good job. i have tried several beans but the result is the same. the grinding is not fine enough. I also adjusted the setting of the grinder within the maschine tp position 1 what is supposed to be the finest one. Even though the water runs too fast. 2 out of 10 coffees coming out the way it should be and thats not enough for a maschine i paid serious money for. For 500 more i get a professional maschine with a very good grinder and i can have consistant results. But since i didnt want to use 2 m2 of space in the kitchen just for making coffee i decided to give this maschine a chance. Unfortunately it didnt work out. Another thing is the electronic. I already gave up to save my own drinks. After every stand by the drinks i created dont show up anymore. Something is wrong with the electronic. I dont now if i received a monday unit or if these issue are common. I would like to give it another try. Lets see how the costumer service is going to help.1.update: compliments to Amazon. Excellent service. After realizing that there is no costumer support for clients in Portugal Amazon immediately sent a new maschine and after receiving i will send back the disapointing one. I recieved the new one today and i am full of hope that this unit will do a better job. In case the same problems will appear i will definately return for good and spend my money somewhere else. I just read that SAGE manufactored maschines dont have the same quality as BREVILLE has in the US. Breville is the original manufactor and in the UK its sold under SAGE and in Germany under GASTROBACK. In the US this maschine (BREVILLE) has very good recessions thats why i tried. An excellent machine & great introduction to a proper espresso coffee machine after capsules. I had a Krupps Nespresso machine, but always had trouble with crushed Nespresso capsules due to their poor packaging. This machine is relatively easy to use & simple to keep clean. It makes great coffee & make you feel like a barista! Buyig your own beans open up a new world of coffee & we found a local guy who imports & roasts beans on the day you buy. Beans from a supermarket taste awful in comparison. So assuming that you have a great source of beans & are prepared to spend an hour figuring out how to use the machine, this is a great choice & worth the very high price. True baristas may find that they don't like some of the automation, but there are other machines in the range for them.An update after 2 months' use. There are some issues with attaching the portafilter. It doesn't click in. Turn it too tight & you get coffee stuck inside the group head, too loose & a disaster with the portafilter flying off & getting coffee EVERYWHERE. I've had it fly off 3 times - you really don't want that to happen.Next issue is the consumables & cleaning. The water filter & cleaning tablets are only available from the Sage website, except they almost never have stocks. The machine pops up messages every time to make a coffee to clean this or that, but no way to clean without the parts. Poor service from Sage.Last of all, making 2 coffees. There is a tiny touch area to switch to 2 cups, I'm used to touch screens, but I find it very hard to touch this option & the machine does not remember the setting.I am not happy with this machine considering the price & have reduced the stars from 5 to 2. It makes good coffee, but this really is to do with how fresh your beans are. Assuming you have a good source of freshly roasted beans, any machine can make good coffee, support from the company is poor. If I had to replace this machine, I would get the regular Oracle, not the Touch.

Not as good as older Oracle
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Disappointed in this machine, unlike the previous Sage Oracle you CANNOT adjust the coffee to pour by volume but only by time. This is a major flaw as most baristas will pour with volume not in seconds. I am selling mine because of this and keeping my original Oracle machine which can do this no bother. Maybe Sage will upgrade the software once they sense they have messed up big time here. I confirmed this with Sage Appliances customer service before writing this review, they also seamed surprised to learn this as they were not aware of the issue. Hopefully Sage will reply with a solution to this post.

Intro Image - Oracle Touch

With automation at every stage, simply swipe and select for espresso, long black, latte, flat white or cappuccino and enjoy café quality coffee at home. Unlike most other automatic espresso machines, the Oracle Touch doesn't compromise on the 4 key elements that deliver true café quality coffee. We put the barista inside the machine so you don't have to be one!

The 4 key elements of café quality coffee:

  • Dose Amount
  • Precise Water Temperature
  • Optimal Water Pressure
  • Sufficient Steam Pressure

4 key elements of café quality coffee

1. Dose - 19-22g dose for full flavour.

1. Dose - 19-22g dose for full flavour.

Have you ever wondered why your home-made coffee never seems to taste as great as a café bought one? That’s because most other automatic machines only dose 11-13g of ground coffee, below what’s needed to create that rich, full-bodied taste you get out of bed for.

2. Temperature - Precise PID temperature control.

2. Temperature - Precise PID temperature control.

The difference between an ashy or balanced tasting espresso can be as little as 1°C. the Oracle Touch uses digital temperature control (PID) technology which detects and minimises any fluctuation during extraction, ensuring the temperature is kept at its optimum range, every time.

3. Pressure - Low pressure pre-infusion & 9 bar extraction pressure.

3. Pressure - Low pressure pre-infusion & 9 bar extraction pressure.

Creating a golden honey crema in your coffee relies on the right pressure at the right time. the Oracle Touch uses low pressure, pre-infusion to evenly soak and expand the ground coffee, delivering a sweet and creamy extraction.

4. Steam - Automatically steaming milk to a silky micro-foam texture.

4. Steam - Automatically steaming milk to a silky micro-foam texture.

To get that velvety texture in your milk you need the right steam pressure to draw in the air and create thousands of tiny bubbles. That’s why we created the automatic steam wand for the Oracle Touch, that turns your milk into a silky smooth micro-foam, essential for Latte art.
