Ulitmately poor quality and a possible fire hazard.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Really loved this toaster till now. Good looking, apparently fairly robust as these things go, had that American semi-industrial kitchen appliance feel about it. Then this Monday, both sides loaded, sat eating breakfast when there was a huge flash and a bang and something red hot flew out, from where I couldn't say. All the appliances went off. The master RCD, the kitchen MCB and the fuse in the plug were all blown. When power was restored I found the right hand side was no longer working and I assumed the element on that side had burnt out. The following day when I had more time to study the thing I found that if i held the lever down, the element would heat up fine, so no break in the circuit there. Whatever it is that is tripped to hold the lever down had gone. Looking inside it appears there are some unusually complicated electronics in there (for a toaster) but no matter, I now think this toaster is another example of poor contemporary manufacture and a potential fire hazard. It isn't I feel worthy of the premium price. My previous toaster (my mums old one given to me when I I first left home, lasted me 20/30 years. This one has gone 3-4 years with pretty limited use. I would say "don't buy it" but I suspect that it is no worse than many of the other offerings.

Good start, shame it didn't last
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This was a great toaster to begin with. It looks rugged and substantial, and even big slices of bread fit with an even toast. Only 3 of us in the house, and it generally only gets used at weekends. Now on it's 3rd birthday it has stopped working on one side. Reading other reviews, this seems like a consistent problem with this this model. I wouldn't buy another one and would recommend that anyone looking for a toaster to last for more that a couple of years should buy something else. Such a pity, it had so much going for it.

Not built to last.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Unfortunately I didn't read the negative reviews and bought this anyway. I bought this toaster (admittedly just under 2 years ago) and now one side of the elements is broken. I only use this perhaps once every two weeks,so I would consider this very light use. Last week I heard a pop and the section of wire that heats up had disconnected from the housing, breaking the circuit.

I could live with the uneven toasting and lack of defrost but it seems the qualify leaves a lot to be desired. Very much form over function - disappointing because it wasn't cheap.

1st one last 4 months before one side stopped working. Replacement lasted 14 months before neither side would toast. Did an ok job whilst working. Lift up lever was not great and you had trouble getting crumpets and bagels out

Pretty but annoying to use.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

So I have to confess that I bought this partly due to the good reviews and partly because it has the right look for my kitchen. The vanity part of that is why I'm not less annoyed by how fiddly the kettle is. It's the same issues you'll read in other reviews - hard to tell how much water you have put in, high minimum water level reading and the top can be fiddly. Otherwise I'm happy with it and it does look good.

Broke after 6 weeks!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Gave this toaster one star but only because there is no option to give zero. Left hand side of the toaster stopped working after 6 weeks. Now this is not really a cheap toaster and even if it was you expect it to last longer than this. I contacted the seller on 2 occasions but have had no reply whatsoever. Don't bother, save your money and buy one from a shop!

Initially good but failed to impress as long-term purchase
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Initially loved this kettle...looks good, does the job, good quality. However, the handle where it is welded to the surface of the body of the kettle has started to become loose. It looks like one of the welds has broken away. Given its price and the short time I have owned this, I am less than impressed.

Update 14/11/16: so last night the lid in this kettle literally fell apart in my hand! I pulled the black plastic grip to remove the lid to fill it up and the grip broke apart, separating from the small screws and the black plastic disintegrated into three bits. So we now need a new kettle...again! Iprior to buying this Waring, I had bought standard run of the mill kettles over the years and they lasted until I was sick of the sight of them or changed my decor. This is the only relatively expensive one I've bought and it's not only been sadly disappointing but in my own personal opinion a bit of a safety hazard with the handle problem.

Broken....for the 5th time
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

About 4 years ago I got the all stainless version of this toaster which was excellent and gave it a glowing review on Amazon. We gave that one to my daughter 3 years ago and its still going strong....The new versions are a different matter though! To replace that toaster we bought this version. The first one was faulty out of the box..not a good start. Toaster 2 broke after 6 months with the faulty slot problem. Conair replaced it. That was the start of many replacements and to cut a very long story very short, toaster number 5 died a week ago .I will now give up as I,m fed up of returning them to Conair although there are still 6 weeks of the guarantee left.So....although it does reasonably good toast and has wide and deep slots, unless you want to make regular trips to your local collect plus shop I really wouldn't bother with this toaster. There are serious quality control issues at the Chinese factory which need sorting. We will probably invest in a Dualit now from JL.

Worked until it didn't. Don't they all?
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Bought one of these about a year a go, give or take (I checked, actually 1 year and one month). After about six months two of the slots packed up, but a couple of days later the device was struck by a brass doorknob travelling in a ballistic trajectory (don't ask). Thus dented, the toaster could not be returned for a warranty claim...... So I persevered with use of the remaining two slots. Until today these have performed admirably, but I must report that they too have now expired, with a memorable gout of flame that also damaged a crumpet.I have placed an order for a new toaster of similar specification, although from a different manufacturer.
