Its all fine, my only issue is that it's a very NOISY kettle. If I wanted to buy a whistling kettle, I would have opted for that, but the loud clicking sounds in this seem to replace the old style whistle.
ali zaidiBlimey - useless thing. Had 2 now, both discoloured around the lip of the lid. Funny yellowing colour, seems to be heat related. Manufacturer replaced the first one. This time round I’m going to send it back to Amazon for a refund. Note also, this kettle does not have an auto switch off when it’s raised from the flat electric plate connection, so if you pick the kettle up once it’s boiling but the shutoff has not activated, then as you replace it on the plate, it’ll start to boil again. Even my last kettle from Tesco which cost a tenner had this facility.
Airbus DriverI really liked the design of this kettle - such lovely lines. It poured well, wasn't noisy and was easy to clean , I only had it for 2/3 weeks and could hardly believe it when I saw that the grey handle had turned to a nasty yellowy colour.
I hoped that this was perhaps a one-off and thought about getting the same one again. So I re-read the reviews and saw that someone else had experienced this too. I've looked at so many kettles and thought this was the one for me.
Obviously not. So disappointing.

PenelopeHave had this kettle before and no problems. With my new one satisfied unti last week press button on lid had yellow markings. Unable to remove, also handle discoloured. Concerned about plastic changing colour. After asking for help from Amazon toto boil a cup of vinegar and would refund 20% for inconvenience . Low rating due to problems experienced
JoeOn off switch failed after 6 months. Disappointing.
Amazon CustomerLooks good, works well but leaves the water tasting of plastic and so have returned it
Robert HuntLasted 3.5 years. Lamp in the switch failed very quickly. Recently noticed plastic on the lid is beginning to break down so time for a replacement
CalthropI had many years of use out of my previous Kenwood jug kettle and after the lid broke I bought the same model. However, after a few times the boiled water was so strongly tasting of plastic it was unusable. I have boiled the kettle out with sodium bicarbonate about six times now and although it is better, it is still undrinkable.
Amazon CustomerFast boil eco kettle but I don;t like the LED light on the ON switch. This is a personal opinion and I just don't like the look of it at all.Horrible grey and white.Only bought this one as mine was broken and WHICH? recommended this one.
BarbaraAfter just a couple of weeks use, the switch - on facility failed, and the product can no longer be used.!To make matters worse, none of the e-mail addresses given on their instructions leaflet on how to have the kettle guaranteed, all of which I tried many many times worked, so I've no redress! A coincidence? Well maybe! However it has taught me a valuable lesson, viz, Never Ever order anything, with the possible exception of books, from Amazon again. Buy locally! .. .
leslie flemingJust how hard can it be to design something that will boil water quickly, quietly and without leaking and which will allow you to fill the device easily? Perhaps Dyson need to design kettles... well perhaps not.
I did a load of research into the best kettle and chose this one because it had nothing but great reviews at the time (about 6 weeks ago). However, after only one month's use, the button which releases the lid to allow the kettle to be filled into the open jug failed. It had got progressively more difficult to release the catch which allows the lid to open using the button on the handle, to the point when the lid couldn't be opened at all. The only alternative you have is to fill the kettle via the spout. Given that the filter is in the spout it means that filling kettle takes much longer and water gets sprayed everywhere.
As far as I can make out, the button releases two catches which secure the lid down to the kettle. The mechanism inside the lid has either failed or "stretched" which means that the two catches cannot withdraw when the button is pressed and the lid stays shut.
I see now that a number of other reviewers have found the same problem with their kettles and this appears to be a design fault.
I shan't be asking for a replacement as the fault is likely to reappear.
I have sent the kettle back for a full refund, including postage, as the item is faulty.
I am now off to design a cheap device which will boil water. It looks very much like a saucepan. Now there's an idea!
Because I had to send this back after a month's use and because it wasn't fit for purpose and appears to have an inherent fault then it can only warrant 1 star. Sorry Kenwood.

Andrew FishI was delighted with this product on receipt. It looks very elegant, easy to hold, light, efficient and very sleek. The filter is excellant and removes the limescale with no effort and the filter is easy to remove and clean. However, after only a month of use the lid fails to open so had to return as we got fed up of filling through the spout. This is the second Kenwood kettle we have had with this fault. We are returning and will buy a replacement when back in stock to give it another chance.
