Very disappointing
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Blew the house fuse on first use. Service was good though and free return with full re-fund. Not as good as the original which was purchased 4 years ago and still works fine but paint finish is peeling. Haven't bothered to re-order will continue with the original

Disappointed !!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Really disappointed!! Waited ages for stock to arrive and feel it looks cheap and tacky. Swan logo is stuck on, silver tape. Steam comes up from on /off switch and burns your hand. In hardwater area so do de scale but this has limescale on the outside of the where spout meet kettle and around level indicator and where handle meets kettle. Feel it is not sealed properly in these areas for steam to escape and limescale to appear in areas it has. It doesn't get excessive use so disappointed this has happened in 6 months and being an established brand!!

Swan orange retro range
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Had this kettle now for a few months, when I first got it I was very happy to get it as it matched the Swan orange retro microwave which I've had no issues with and used for the last 6 months, unlike toaster which blew my electricity and refused to work again, now back to the kettle, the kettle is not good value for money, its cheaply made, the lid is hard to remove and place, the chrome on the lid is starting to crack and showing some rust, steam comes through the on/off button if the kettle is filled upto the full mark, I am very disappointed with the whole Swan orange retro range apart from my microwave Swan back in my youth was a good trusted name, but sadly this is no longer the case, customer service is terrible, STAY CLEAR OF SWAN

Heavy awkward and unsuitable for the elderly.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Very poor quality. The lid is very difficult to remove - making it very impossible for arthritic hands. The paint on the kettle - which was purchased last december as an xmas gift is now peeling away. It's also very heavy to lift - so not satisfactory for my poor mam at all. I am returning it for a refund though so am really grateful for that.

Avoid. Terrible quality.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Absolutely terrible quality. Steam escapes from the spout, handle and water gauge. Paint has also come off around the spout. This happened within 2 weeks of buying. Looks very cheap. Contacted swan but no refund has been offered. Avoid buying this product. See photo attached which shows water marks from steam escaping and paint coming off. Had to buy a new kettle, not Swanthough.

Poor quality and a waste of money!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I'm really disappointed with the quality of this kettle, purchased less than 6 months ago and it's now unsafe! The lid is all cracked, one the S has fallen off and now the switch has dropped off. I've written to Swan to let them know. The lid started to let steam out which is why I know longer can use it. Normally Swan products are great, but not this one steer clear!

Shoddy and you get burned
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Do not buy this unsafe and shoddy product. It hasn’t lasted 4 months! I loved the way this retro kettle looked but it’s hard to use, the lid doesn’t easily come off to refill the kettle and the silver paint on the lid is peeling off already after just a couple of months and the spout area is also poorly sealed. Hot Steam comes out of the switch under the handle area so you get burned when lifting it. Really poor quality. Don’t buy!

Great service from Amazon
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

the 5* are for Amazon the product 3/4* maybe.our original order we were a little disappointed with the quality of this kettle it quickly failed (couple of months) the on off switch did not operate correctly. Contacted Amazon and a replacement was received the following day a returns label the same day.Replacement kettle seems better quality?? if this one lasts only a few months then it seems very simple to get a replacment. Might never need to pay for a new kettle ever again LOL

Looks Fab but bad bad Quality
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I wanted to write a good review of this product - as the retro range is lovely. It looked fab when I got it ( kettle from Amazon ) Toaster & Microwave from a different retailer ( at the time of purchase they were out of stock on Amazon ) but all the retro range. My kettle when it came had small scuff marks and also the silver rim looked discoloured. I have now had the kettle less than two weeks and the handle seems to be effected by the steam and is wearing away - shocking quality. I am concerned that this brand ( which I haven’t bought before ) is not good quality -The toaster and microwave came from another retailer and as you can see there is a colour difference ( these are all the Swan Retro range ) so should be the same grey - as there is only one grey to pick. I have had to send the microwave back as it didn’t work . So disappointed, I have just moved into a new home and was excited to have my Kettle ,Toaster & Microwave from the same range taking pride of place on my counter top - instead it’s just problem after problem - and near impossible to get a reply from Swan.Such a lovely looking range - if only it lived up to what they advertise :-(

Excellent kettle.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I really like this kettle. I took ages choosing one and was worried about the negative comments about this kettle but so far (several weeks later) have had no trouble at all. It is a lovely design, light and pours easily. It is also easy to fill and has a decent metal limescale filter. Looks as good as the day I opened it. The lid fits tightly but is also easy to remove and is easy to fill either through the top or the spout with an easy to see water gauge. Love the way it pours and it is comfortable to use. The only downside for me is that it is slightly noisy but the good bits far outweigh that. Glad I bought it.

Nice Orange Kettle
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Bought this Swan Kettle to replace my Kenwood kettle because the lid broke and wouldn't stay shut. Have to say I'm a little disappointed in the quality - doesn't seem as 'sturdy' as my old Kenwood, and the lid is a little sticky to lift off. But it was orange and that was the colour I wanted to match my other kitchen equipment, and it does the job it was bought for.

Worst kettle I have ever had!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is the worse kettle I have ever had even cheap made ones have performed better than this, I have had this kettle now for 14 months and it stopped working today, expected better from swan. The pros ; it looks nice, has matching items. The cons; poorly made, paint and chrome chips off after a couple of months, no filter, lid has to be removed by pulling off not a flip lid, easily burnt by steam that comes from the switch, life span 14 months (my own experience). I would not recommend this kettle or buy any swan product again, their customer service is terrible and unhelpful. All in all I made a mistake buying this kettle!

Stopped working after 4 months.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I purchased this kettle in November to match the rest of the retro change. After a couple of months we noticed the silver on the lid had started to bubble as shown in the picture. It's the noisiest kettle I've ever owned, don't bother trying to hold a conversation while you're waiting for it to boil! It's not the easiest kettle to fill up as the lid doesn't flip up. To top it all, 4 months after purchasing it has stopped working completely and the return window closed in January.Don't buy this kettle!

Expensive kettle, cheap lid.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

There is no problem with the kettle, is operation or how it does it’s job. It performs all these functions perfectly. What I am not impressed with considering that I don’t consider this a cheap item in its class, is that as in my photo the cheap silver plastic on the top of the lid has started lifting after only a couple of weeks use. I expected better.

Lid peeling
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Product is ok, does what it should. 4 months after purchasing it, the lid has started to flake! The outer part of the lid is metal but the centre and handle is plastic coated in silver. All began bubbling and flaking off now so not happy. Have contacted swan who, as a good will gesture will send me a new lid, but having not taken the product details off me, I have no idea what they will aend me! Also bought toaster and microwave.... note, the microwave is a different shade of green, mint rather than sage green

attractive and functional.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I like the look of this kettle, and it works well and boils quickly. As others have said it is quite hard to remove the lid, which means I often fill through the spout as with arthritis pulling is painful. Disappointed that the little silver SWAN logo is already falling off after ony one week of use. It is flimsy plastic, and would have been better not attached at all if it is to fall off so soon. It will leave a yellow mark, which will change the delightful aesthetic appearance of this article. On the whole, though, very pleased with this item.

Worst Kettle Ever Do Not Buy
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I bought this kettle 6 months ago and it’s absolutely covered in lime scale on the outside despite me using filtered water on the inside who knows how it got there. All of the plastic chrome on the outside is completely covered. What’s more is the small switch that is required to turn the kettle on falls off. This product is an embarrassment for the once prestigious Swan brand. It’s awful and I would never recommend it. Absurd they had the temerity to put it on the market in such a state. Granted it looks stylish but it’s not built to last and its look is fundamentally deceiving.
