This is the second Morphy Richards kettle I have bought in the same style. They have both ended up leaking near to water level view the first time I just put it down to bad luck but second time realised it must be a fault in the design.Very disappointed!
JoThis kettle was a bit of a disappointment. I bought this to match the toaster in the same range and t started off looking very smart and did the job. The basic issues are that the water gauge is not easy to read. When you fill it up the gauge doesn't instantly register how much water has gone in and so you end up wobbling the kettle back and forth to try to see how much is actually in there. Likewise when you've poured out a drink it doesn't register accurately how much water is left. The handle isn't hinged, which isn't a deal-breaker because there is enough room to put the tap underneath, but it would have been more helpful. Finally, the handle on the lid broke in less than a year meaning that we had to fill it up via the spout anyway. The paint also scratched around the lid early on too so it didn't stay looking quite as nice. Overall I'd recommend finding another kettle.
Alison RThis kettle does the job but it's not the best. It boils quick which is great but you can't pour it as soon as it boils or it splashes everywhere. It's also hard to see how much water is in it at times due to the condensation. It will do the job for now but I wouldn't purchase this again.
JulesNice kettle, a little more expensive than the usual but bought it in the sale. Quite noisy but boils really quickly.
marlinAlthough looks good , it failed to turn off when boiling. Went to get a replacement. None available till mid November at the earliest.
BigglesblokeLooks good, however the kettle is difficult to put back onto the base and also takes up quite a lot of room. Also hard to read water level markings. Prefer the more upright models.
SuzyA lovely looking kettle, which worked well for a time. However, possibly because we live in an area with hard water, over time the kettle started to leak. Now gone back to using a cheap plastic kettle.
D.JohnsonThe pair flaked around the spout after about 6 months. I was disappointed.
JACQUELINE LEONARDGood value, rapid boiling.
MarkThe kettle after a short time started to leak from the handle we got in touch with Morphy Richards they said they could do nothing about it.
Peter BlundellThis kettle began leaking from the water level indicator after just over 1 year. After 18 months, the leaking water has seeped into the switch and the kettle no longer works at all. Any buyer should ensure that they register their product to extend the warranty from 1 to 2 years and expect to use it. Poor value for money in my experience.
AndyDThis kettle is so noisy when it’s boiling. We have an open plan kitchen/living room and when we are boiling the kettle have to pause the TV as can’t hear anything. Wouldn’t recommend due to noise.
Holly1976We bought this to match a toaster but it was a different design to our old one . When it’s boiled you have to be really careful when pouring as it plops the water out at first. Wish it was the old design. Noticed that the water level indicator doesn’t work - too late to return !
Ms. C. A. PowellLooked lovely online but in the flesh the white casing is very shiny making it look rather cheap. It boils fairly quickly which is great but the noise is like an aeroplane taking off! I wouldn’t buy it again.
SianiI purchased this kettle on 22nd August and within 3 months water began leaking from the water level window onto the on switch below, I tried to resolve this problem and get a refund with the manufacturers some months ago now to no avail. Don't buy, definitely more style over substance..
A G GROSEThe kettle has started leaking onto the baseplate and also leaks when you lift it to pour. It has never been a great pourer and is best left for a few seconds before pouring as if still in boil mode will spray and scold you when you begin to pour. Really bought this because of the vintage style and colour, sadly disappointed by the poor quality.
Rach77This kettle matches my morphy richards toaster and bread basket but that's it in terms of benefits. It is the loudest kettle I have ever had with a small capacity, won't recommend!
DinoI love the colour and the top lifting handle which makes it much easier to lift if you have arthritis in your hands. The 'on' switch is extremely flimsy and feels like it will break or snap very quickly. Time will tell!
veronica brendonFast to boil and easy to use. Sometimes a bit of a fiddle to get it set on the base and the light only works intermittently which leaves me slightly doubtful about long term reliability. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Awt1000looks great but it quickly rusts around the rim and the lid then becomes difficult to remove. Boiling water dangerously spurts out of the spout unless you leave it to calm down for a number of seconds before pouring.
