Switches it’s self off
PaulWe thought the plastic taste was 'Newness' so we boiled lots of water (full 1.7 Litres) and eventually taste passed by.Now 6 Weeks later the taste has returned. We boiled water in our Electric Travel Kettle to see if it was the water itself but that was OK over a prolonged period, so we reverted back to the Tower 1.7 Litre and the taste was still there. You could also 'smell' a plasic smell in the KettleRecomendation: DO NOT, repeat NOT, buy
Amazon CustomerThe lid on this kettle began to malfunction within four weeks. It only opened if it wanted to, not very often on command! After just a few weeks it switched itself off before boiling and took repeated' switch ons' to come to the boil. Unfortunately I had mislaid the receipt. I have now replaced it with a kettle from my local supermarket.
Karen WebsterThe kettle had a funny taste when water boiled, the water wasn’t that hot and the filter kept on coming out when filled up
Amazon CustomerA truly awful kettle that had to be returned after 4 days. It had a strong chemical smell to it which I thought would wear off but after a day or so I started to feel off, this lasted a few days with me feeling sick and dizzy until christmas day I near on passed out. My partner smelt the kettle and was shocked at how strong the chemical smell was inside. I'm adamant something was inside that was making me Ill and will be reporting it to get investigated
Elizabeth KellyVery very poor plastic quality. Lid lifts up on boiling, so boiling doesn't stop. Lid intermittently is able to close, but most of the time cannot close. Plastic cheap rubbish really and I am sending it back. Better to spend double the money for decent equipment. It also could be a death trap with the lid opening and closing all the time which affects the boiling. Useless and not fit for purpose. Works 5 times then you have problems.
youn_irenAfter third replacement sent back . horrible taste from kettle a mixture of chemical and plastic tasting.
marko73I purchased two of these kettles one for my brother. His continues to blow every fuse I try.The second kettle lost its lighting after 8 weeks but still boils water
JAMES MCBURNEYAfter reading the reviews I was unsure but thought it would be fine i'l boil it lots of times etc. But no awful product! I must of boiled over 10 times and the water still taste of plastic!
LouTerrible, not had it very long and the switch keeps turning off as soon as you press it and before it boils. Avoid this kettle and you'll be happy.
Amazon CustomerFor the price its cheap. If i had realized the kettle was plastic and not glass i wouldn't have bought it as you can taste the plastic from the boiled water, even in tea.
ailam_usgfvkI like the kettle.its good for me with arthritis, not to heavy, just make sure u turn it off after its boiled,
krThe worst thing I've ever bought from Amazon. This electric kettle has leaves a horrible smell and taste in the water. Never experienced this with other kettles. Waste of money.
Amazon CustomerI am so disappointed with this kettle. It is cheap, lightweight plastic... looks cheap and feels cheap. I have had it a week and now the lid won't stay shut .. quite dangerous as it pops up whilst I am pouring boiling hot water. Poor quality and dangerous.
rosemary250953Had a funny taste that I couldn’t get rid off had to send the kettle back
SexyladyI really liked the look of this kettle & Ofc it does the job but it took boiling quite a few times to rid it of its newness. All has been well over time.
Amazon CustomerThis item should be taken off the market immediately. The reason it keeps switching off is the lid, when it is opened the water runs down into the top electric switch, this is nt a safe product.
Stella stolworthyThe description on site did not say hard plastic. After a week, even after multiple use and cleaning with bicarbonate of soda, our tea and coffee still tasted of plastic. I think hard plastic is not a suitable container for a high temperature kettleand the leeching of plastic could be a health hazard.
Mr. K. SmithIts a nice kettle but it takes longer to boil than my old kettle
froggyfrogxNot impressed with product at all. on button does not remain depressed and so end up gaffer taping it on so that it will boil. Also water can taste plasticy once boiled.
