It is fast boil. No water level indicator on the out side. You have to manually remove the lid.
John CrossthwaiteThe metal body was hot and a danger to children - my previous one was plastic. There were no 'windows' to see how much water I'd put in and the on/off switch doesn't light up. Other than that it is a good standby particularly as my Bosch kettle has packed up this morning after 30 days use!
hcpLove the colourVery light weightNo water measurement on kettleNoisy
susieThought this being a Russel Hobbs would be half decent but only had a couple of weeks and on/off switch just broke off. Only used by two people so not excessive use. Very disappointed. Have not returned due to Covid issues but very disappointed.
SuzytThis product has an inherent fault with on the on switch. I have had two of these each lasting 3 and then 4 months before the on switch broke in half at the same place.
Mrs. R. M. Elson GantThe exterior of this kettle got so hot that my husband burnt his finger on it. I’m astonished it gets a CE certificate. I returned the item immediately
VMSOnly 'fast boil' if certain amount of water in it pretty much like every other kettle without 'fast boil'
Brian marshallIt does boil fas but has short cord, the filter funnel doesn’t work properly so you get white solid bits coming through from boiled hard water areas. Also no boiling indicator light so until you hear it you cannot tell if it is on or started boiling. Wouldn’t recommend for price. My £5 cheap Asda kettle better value. Expected more from Russell and Hobbs.
Amazon CustomerThis is a very low end kettle. No indicator light for on or boiling. No flip lid. It is only lightweight, because it is thin and low grade. Even lid is cheap plastic. The best thing about it is the red colour.Im amazed Russel Hobbs put their brand on such a poor kettle.
IrishMick101Not keen on this kettle. There is no level on the outside to show how much water is in there and it's really noisy. But it does its job and value for money.
Mum's TaxiGood product BUT on light would be usefull
christineThis kettle is 11 months old and when I first bought it I was impressed by it however I have found, through use, that the on/off button felt flimsy and now has broken. Had to tape it this morning to get it to work. Has put me off buying Russell Hobb products.
MgtLindsayI bought this to replace my old kettle, which was also Russell Hobbs and even the same colour. Unfortunately, this one has a much smaller cord and it accumulates scale much faster than my previous version. Still, it works perfectly and it will do for now.
Rita OliveI've just got this kettle & it does what it says , But why is the cord so short it is one foot my old kettle is two foot four so some buyers may be limited by such a short cord that's the reason why i've given three stars , & its not easy to use if the cord can't reach your socket .

peter cI like the shape and colour. The kettle is very basic manual lid, no button,no light on switch and no gauge for filling but I knew that.It boils water and pours without dripping. I bought it together with the toaster for a good price. Chose it for make and colour mainly to brighten up my kitchen.I don't think the colour will last long as it is coming off around the lid after only a few weeks.

Good value for money and looks stylish. The absence of of a fill level indicator on the side can make it tricky to use
Chris WhitakerHmmm. Where to start? Bought the kettle as I have had many Russell Hobbs kitchen appliances before. So bought on reputation. Kettle arrived quickly. After removing the packing, I found that the kettle had a rather loose lid, which did not seem that secure and the kettle wobbled very easily on the base. Oh well! Noticed that there was a sticker on the outside, so I slowly peeled the thing off and then found that some of the paint on the kettle had peeled of with the sticker (see photos). There's a first! This is before it has even been used! Not happy! On first fill I also found a slight oil sheen on the surface. Took many, many rinses and washes to remove this. I am surprised that such a shoddy piece of kitchenware, poorly manufactured and with many faults was allowed to bear the name of Russell Hobbs. This has put me off the brand and will be wary of buying any Russell Hobbs items in the future. I know that I did not pay a lot for it, but a low price point does not allow companies to foist any piece of rubbish on consumers. Not recommended.
Transfer BlackNot great. Colour doesn't match other Russell Hobbs appliances of the same type. There is no outwardly visible scale to tell you how full it is. The inner scale is pretty much impossible to see. Consequently I'm heating more water than I need I'm sure. It's loud, tinny, and not very nice. About the only good thing it does is boil water which I guess is what it's supposed to do. Fine if you don't want it to match other appliances and don't care about how much water you heat.
Nick BeckleyThe Russell Hobbs Dorchester kettle features a rapid boil zone which means it can heat up the tap water from tepid to boiling in just 45 seconds - that’s really handy for those times when you could kill for a cuppa. It can make one to three cups in super-fast time. It has a handy ideal pour spout design so the water can be poured evenly into mugs and cups without spilling all over your worktop. An internal water indicator tells you how full you’ve filled it so you don’t boil it dry or over fill its 1.7 Litre capacity. To keep your kettle clean and fresh and free from limescale, it has a removable, washable filter that you can simply flip out, rinse through and pop back in.
