. You pay extra for the milk container and hot chocolate container but it only produces Luke warm drinks, you can change the temperature of coffee but not milk so you end up putting it in the microwave to heat up so what’s the point!

Looks nice ...... Can not hear milk for latte! No temperature settings for milk at this price is ridiculous!

Great looking machine, not great for a hot coffee
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I've had this machine for just over a year and received the unit back from it's 1st year service. As other reviewers have noted it is not capable of making either hot coffee or hot chocolate at a reasonable temperature, I know we are all in a hurry these days but to sip a coffee in a coffee shop and savour the taste then gulp it down is one thing, but to go through the hassle of cleaning out a milk karate that is designed to deliver a warm coffee, just isn't worth the effort. If you use the steam wand it makes really nice hot coffee. The mess that the machine produces inside the machine is quite bad. I did phone Delonghi about this and they explained that if you produce lots of "long coffee's" it does produce a lot of mess. Overall I wouldn't recommend this, unless others know how I can get a really hot milky coffee. I know its all about the temperature of the milk that can destroy the taste of the coffee but how do the likes of the high street chains do it and not a £1000 machine?

huge disappointment for such an expensive machine from a known brand - failing dismally at the basic task of making good coffee,
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

- start button to cup of coffee takes at least 4 minutes as the machine (a) rinses every time it is on (b) is very slow to make actual coffee, pausing and wining all the time. Even from 'ready' state it is 2 mins+ for a cup!- full of sensors which are useless & interfering, eg: - refuse tray full sensor is regularly triggered after just a couple of cups made (ie c5% full).. but not always - ie not faulty just badly designed -water tank (which is waaaay too small anyway - 5 cups max!) is triggered while 20% full, even while in the middle of coffee making - senseless rinsing all the time - wasting water, and filling water refuse tray. Automatic on/off function does not help if you do not use machine eveall this means virtually every time you switch it on you spend close to 10mins servicing it, before your first cup is ready.and this is just americano/espresso - cappucinos and chocholate as even more complicateda lot of the above (eg rinsing) is impossible to cancel/stop. at the same time lots of extra functions (from how fine the beans are to water filters) which are excess for most.complete waste - about to dump in favour of a simpler machine which can do the job on demand.

Great Idea - Poorly executed
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

On the plus side.Makes great coffee. the grind is very adjustable and the different drink types work wellOn the negative side:1.Milk based coffees through the milk jug are no way near hot enough - you can tweak the settings as much as you want but it isn't useable. I've used the steamer which is fine - but this does defeat the purpose of an automatic machine.2. Its now on its way back to De'Longhi after only 4 months - the sensor for the beans isn't working and its spreading ground coffee all over the innards. For a machine at this price point its no way near good enough

I chose this rating as it is not a one touch coffee machine as describled, the milk for the coffee is not warm and you have to use the steamer to make it a hot drink.
