A great stylish design
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I have never had a stylish kettle. I don't drink tea or coffee and my husband isn't bothered what the kettle looks like as long as it boils water for his morning cuppa he is happy. However I fell in love with this kettle as soon as I saw it and when I got it delivered and opened the box I loved it even more.As far as I am aware, a kettle is a kettle - it boils water and that is it. Well, yes this one ticks that box although my husband does believe that i is slower than our old, borning, jug kettle but it isn't that slow so I am not marking it down on that point. The only negative I can think of is that the water indicator is difficult to read - it is at the back of the kettle and when I was filling the kettle from the tap it was closest to me and therefore I think in my shadow and I had to take it away from the tap to read the measure.I love the bright, shiny red exterior and I also really like the shape of it. Its base design means that it can be swivelled for either left or right handed people, and it's handle shape and design keeps hands well away from the steam, meaning no chance of burning fingers. The handle has a good grip and is comfortable hold.In summary I would say this is a beautiful design and a good kettle to put in any kitchen

Mostly we like.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

We like this kettle. It has a modern design feel and the colour is a lovely warm burgundy red that brightens up the kitchen without screaming. The handle is comfortable to grip and the spout filled easily from the kitchen tap without us having to remove the lid. The switch is a little bit plasticky - we have a similar Morphy Richard's kettle with a slightly more robust switch (slightly being the operative word). There's ample capacity and the usual instant kettle boil time of a couple of minutes. The reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that whatever is used in the manufacturing process lingers in the kettle for ages. We had to boil it up 6 times (the last with vinegar) before the water stopped tasting peculiar. However it's fine now.

Beautiful Body shame about the rest!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Great looking kettle, its design is reminiscent of some 1930s design which in itself is not a bad point. It has all the bits that you would expect from a modern electric kettle including a concealed element and boil dry protection. The mainly metal construction ensured strength, and a sturdy handle to match with an comfortable grip, plus the removable filter and clear level indicator all adding to the plus points. The indicator in the base unit is only visible if the cord leaves the unit to the left hand side, the cord storage is not the best as it limits the variation of length to perhaps only two or three widely spaced lengths. filling through the spout is easy if you have a small tap, but filling through the top is not easy with some taps. Additionally if the lid is removed before empty kettle has had time to cool down, the handle is bathed in hot steam as it seemed almost impossible to completely empty the heavy kettle.Although the kettle was boiled several times with fresh water there was a distinct plastic taste, which did diminish with time, but reappeared if the kettle was left with some water in and only topped up. This taste did appear to come from the plastic level window which gave of a similar smell when hot.

This is a decent kettle for the price. It is pretty much a no-frills product. My kettle for testing came in a nice shade of metallic red. The design is based around cones & circles - you won't find any straight lines (or pyramids!). It boils quickly & switches off automatically either at boiling or when you lift it off the base. It's a decent size at 1.8 litres - the fill indicator is at the back above the on-off switch. On the down side, the whole package, i.e. kettle & base may be at risk of tipping if you are really careless due to the bottom of the base unit being smaller than the top & the bottom of the kettle. This may be more of a risk if the kettle is full. Also I am particularly keen on the small lid which needs a bit of persuasion to come out - a situation not helped by the handle arching fairly tightly over it.However, having said that I like it & the slight risks/irritations would not deter me from purchasing one in future.

Smart looking and does the job
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

What's not to love. It's a smart looking kettle. The finish is lovely and looks like good quality. It is easy to fill and see how much water is in. At full capacity 1.8 litres from cold, it takes 4.45 minutes to the moment it auto switches off. To boil the minimum 0.8 litres it took 2.25 minutes. It has a comfortable handle, and the pouring spout although looks rather diminutive does the job fine and pours neatly and accurately enough to fill a hot water bottle. Delighted with it. Good sized kettle for when I have visitors. When it is just me, I use a one cup machine instead.

Beautiful but design flaws
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This kettle is a bit of a mixed bag of pros and cons - possibly more cons though. It's a case of aesthetics over design. It looks amazing and looks beautiful on my kitchen work surface in my 1950s style American diner kitchen. It also matches my toaster. Other pluses include the fact it holds a lot of water! This is perfect if you're in a large family however due to the extra wide base you have to fill it up unneccessarily high if you are only making 2 cups of tea. This is wasteful and not ver Eco friendly. It boils quickly and the water is hot. It also pours nicely and the water gauge is easy to read. However, the cons - the base is too wide. It takes up far too much room on the counter and as previously mentioned doesn't have an eco fill option. It doesn't come with any instructions. Not even basic instructions like you need to boil once before first use or whatever so we just made it up. You need to pull the lid right off like an old fashioned kettle which is a pain. I do not yet know whether I will stick with this kettle maybe I can get used to its flaws and learn to appreciate its beauty!

Beautiful but not very practical
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I like the handle on top design of kettle as I have wrist pain and this style is easier for me to lift. This particular kettle is stunningly beautiful but for me the cons outweigh the pros - I've listed both below for you to make up your own mind.Pros:The viewing window on the back of the kettle is very clear and easy for left and right handers to use.The filter is metal which won't break quite so easily as a plastic one would. It pours very nicely without spillages or dribbles.Cons:It's quite heavy at 970g and is very tall which makes it awkward for a short person to pour. The handle stands 28cm high when it is not sat on its base.It requires a minimum of 5 cups (200ml each) to boil. This is a deal breaker for me as I frequently need just 1 cup boiling. My current kettle allows me to boil 1.5 cups as a minimum. The spout is small, making it tricky to fill the kettle without lifting the lid, which is stiff. It's rather noisy.

Form over function
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Beautiful but impractical, this is a 1.8 litre kettle that requires at least 0.8 litres minimum water. Even if you typically boil a lot of water, there are still occasions when almost anyone still needs just one cupful boiled. On this kettle, you have to boil almost a third of a kettle every time. This is a pity, because this is otherwise a really beautiful kettle that will spread a bit of excitement even in the most mundane kitchen. Unfortunately, it is the eye-pleasing conical design which is the culprit as far as the minimum boiling requirement is concerned: inevitably, more water is required to cover the heating element.I really very much wanted to like this kettle, but it is sadly a case of form defeating function. Even filling it is a pain. You can fill, slowly, through the spout, but otherwise you have to pull off the top, which is fairly stiff, and then pour past the handle.

Lovely kettle.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Love this kettle. The vivid metallic colour is amazing and the shape has a nice sculptural quality. It is light in weight, heats up quickly and pours well. It is good value too at the current price. I have seen it more than £20 dearer elsewhere. You can get a microwave and toaster to match (I'm tempted!).Recommended to add a little bit of drama to your kitchen.
