Lovely little kettle.Due to arthritis in my hands it is large enough for me to handle.

The Vitesse Diamond is not large: 1 litre is the fill they recommend, although you can squeeze a little more in; but it's a practical size for a small household, and saves wasted electricity. I replaced a far more expensive and smart one with it, as the posh one was difficult to fill, and the interior didn't light up when it was heating; this one has neither of those faults. I'm pleased with it, and I rather like its dumpy, homely appearance. It's very quick to boil. The first one I ordered didn't arrive, but as soon as I reported this, a replacement arrived promptly.

My 17-18 year old Tefal Vitesse is beginning to leak slightly at the viewing window when full. I bought it for my mum and reclaimed it 13 years ago! In daily use, I have always loved it: well worth the extra money for such reliability and ease of use. It's the best design I have found: looks good, and is ergonomically functional and quiet, unlike noisy stainless steel kettles. I searched loads, both on line and in stores; finding none to match looks or design, at any price, so bought this despite the off-putting review saying it comes with a 2 pin plug. Not so: mine arrived with the most solid 3 pin I've ever seen, and a note saying they will send an adapter if it doesn't - for free! Amazon please correct: I was tricked into buying a separate adaptor. Kettle came today, so early days to review - my reason for 4 not 5 stars is its clunkier design compared with the old model: the kettle wobbles on its base, so seems less stable. My old one fits snugly on a much slimmer base. Minor matter, and no doubt I'll get used to it. Am looking forward to another 18 years of trouble free use. Well done Tefal - and why is this no longer in UK shops?

WARNING The kettle is fantastic! BUT it is illegal to use it in the UK without an EARTHED ADAPTOR!!! So: 5 stars for Tefal, 0 stars for Amazon. My kettle was supplied with a German Schuko type of 2 pin plug. An ordinary 'travel' adaptor for 2 pins won't do, because they are not earthed. You will need to buy a Schuko to UK adaptor, which has flat earth connectors at the side of the socket. This is a high wattage appliance and is DANGEROUS if it is not earthed. Good job I know these things - and personally I will cut off the fitted plug and wire it into a standard UK 3-pin plug as it is neater than using an adaptor. Please be sure you know how to do this if you are going to do it yourself, or get an electrician to do it. Shame on you Amazon.

The best of all kettle! Very silent and fast. Got three of them by now. The oldest one may be 10 years old and it still works perfectly.

Does the job!

Very pleased with this kettle - the сapacity up to 1.5 liters, convenient lid , narrow spout , nice switch ,easy to clean inside. A great kettle , much better quality , than our previous Dualit 1L

Working in a rather arid area this kettle not only proved reliable for eight years but has one other considerable asset.In a mixed community of right and left handed it is the only known kettle with water level "windows" on both sides which means that it can be installed for left or right hand use.

I have always preferred Tefal and was glad to be able to get this kettle.It suits my needs.Not as fast as I would like, though.
