Difficult to insert pods
MallettI've had a few Nespresso machines (even with cleaning the limescale seems to kill them after about 1.5 years) and this is the worst one I ever got. Bad design through and through - seems to have a smaller hopper for spent capsules and the normal power up sequence means you discover this when you can't close the lid but it's still heating up. You go to empty the hopper (which always seems to be near full of liquid at the bottom unlike other machines) and just as you've emptied it the machine has now heated up and spurts mucky water out the bottom of the machine as you're still holding the drip tray.Its always struggled to pierce the capsules and wheezes away slowly, sometimes dripping.And now it's finally given up the ghost pouring water out the bottom and hissing steam everywhere when I try to make coffee.

Danilo D'AmicoThis machine leaks a lot of water after only 2 weeks of use. The water is damaging the table we have it placed on. Amazon refuses to replace it because "the return window has expired".
Amazon CustomerIt stopped working after 2 weeks, It stopped giving the right amounts of water. Amazon gave a full refund after we returned it, no problem at all!
Ken SladeFirstly, I must point out that I ordered the black one but a weird grey coloured one arrived....late on Christmas Eve. It wasn’t a Christmas miracle!I’d had a nespresso machine for 4 years, when It died I was lost!Koudos to Amazon in getting it here so quickly but the colour is vile...but what can you do at 7pm on Christmas Eve....I decided to keep it.Anyway, it’s VERY small and in my opinion does not even come close to the quality of the Magimix nespresso machines. Unfortunately, on a budget this year, chose the Krups...good well known name I thought, probably similar to my old nespresso U (alas, Magimix no longer make this model) How wrong I was.The water tank looks as though it’ll hold enough water for about 4 cups.You pop the coffee pod in the top like all other machines, when your coffee is made you have to expel the spent pod by lifting up the lever where you put the pod in originally....in a kind of ‘ratchety’ motion it drops down. I know that if something is going to go wrong with this machine...it will be this. I had to yank it quite firmly and the whole thing feels flimsy and looks cheap rather than swish and elegant.The little thing that catches the spent pod will only hold six spent pods.Mine is now hidden behind the kettle and coffee grinder...not proudly on view.I think if you use this machine a lot it won’t be in your kitchen for long...it’ll be on the scrap heap. I’m hoping I get more than a year out of the thing and fingers crossed it outlives it’s guarantee!I know we’re all strapped for cash, but if you’re going to buy one...save up a little bit longer and go for any of the Magimix machines...they’ll serve you well.
BatsinthebelfryI wanted a quick and smallish machine to make a quick cup of decent coffee, on face value this seemed to be what I was looking for to replace my old machine which had sprung a leak after several years great service being used several times a day, everyday.1, this machine cannot take a full size cup. I know Lungo is not a full cup but I like to drink my coffee in a full glass mug and more than a smaller cup would take. This was fine with my old Krups machine. It would be nice to have the choice.2, it is very cheaply made (unlike my sturdy older machine) and there is a hinge contraption on the actual water holder that opens and clips into the back of the machine. Its completely unnecessary, is fiddly and will surely break after a bit of use. My old machine didn't have or need this unnecessary complication.3, it doesn't heat the coffee to the required temperature. You have to drink the coffee within a couple of minutes of making it or its tepid.I don't think its worth GBP90.00 of anyone's money to be honest pay more and get a better machine.

Medway ManLeaks from the back underneath. Not from the water reservoir itself. Reported faul to Nespresso after 26 days but they will not replace except within first 14 days. It has to go back and will take 6-8 weeks to inspect and repair. Not good and doesn’t really comply with consumer law. My last Nespresso machine was 8 years old and still working. I don’t think this new one will last a year. Don’t buy it!
Stuart PIf you want the white version, be aware that it's more like cream. We bought it to match our Bosch white kettle, but the difference is very noticeable. Strictly speaking, Krups/Nespresso should describe the colour as 'Cream' or at least 'Warm White' - NOT as described variously as 'White' or 'Pure White'. Such a nuisance to have to return it. Otherwise, a very compact, pleasing minimalist design.

Further examination identified that the valve is faulty - more evident if you remove the reservoir with water in it / or when refilling away from the machine - the valve seems to stick in the open position - the only temporary solution being to fill it while fitted, though any remaining/unused water will start to slowly leak from the base, creating a puddle on the work top / desk. I’m sure this fault is isolated to our machine, as we have another that is fine as donour friends & family .. Just be wary of this fault ..

GioIt’s ok but.... the water tank doesn’t fit very well to the back which makes me wonder how long it will last. Not sure if this effects all of these or if it’s just the one I got. On the positive side it’s nice and slim so doesn’t take up too much space.

JEMThis is a very small machine! The pictures do not necessarily indicate that the machine is much smaller than other machines (a mug does not fit comfortably and the water container is tiny). It looks great and it is stalish but it is a Nespresso Mini!
