We've had one of these kettles for a good few years now and it's served us well. It's discrete to look at; quick to boil (being 3W); and easy to fill (when making tea or coffee for tea we fill it to the top of the round 'bulb' window). It's lasted longer than most of out previous kettles (four years or so being fairly typical) so, when it finally packed up and I found [to my surprise] it was still available on Amazon, it was clear we need look no further and bought another. Good price too.

Works great still, fast boil. Purchased in late Feb 2018, and today in Dec 2019 it is as good as when first used. To be honest, I would normally have avoided plastic looking appliances but had been let down by other kettles that looked good but didn't quite do the expected job. This is the second Philips home appliance I own, the first being a Philips Azur GC4890 steam iron which was purchased back in June 2014 and is still going strong 5.5 years on. I have high hopes for this kettle :-)

We always buy Phillip's but could not find the one we wanted do bought a cheap one from lidl it was so noisy glad to have the quiet boiling stylish Phillip's.

This is the third of this model of kettle I have owned, as it is lightweight and is well-balanced to hold. I have arthritis in my hands, and searched long and hard for a kettle like this. I only hope Phillips continues to make it! Being able to boil such a small amount of water is another good feature. It could do with being a little less noisy.

Lovely quality. Quiet, Quick boil. Smooth pouring without spit or spill. Large capacity. Very good value. ‘Which ‘ rate Philips as the best small electrical appliance manufacturer. This kettle is another example of why you will be extremely pleased. I will not be buying other disappointing brands!

I originally bought this kettle September 2013 and it started leaking from around the spout when pouring in September 2018... that's 5 years of being used at least 4 times a day. This is the first kettle I've ever bought that lasted longer than 2 years. Just bought a new one to save me pouring hot water all over the counter and my feet. The 2 cup mark boils in about 60 seconds. Honestly, it's a great kettle, it's not too noisy and it boils really quickly. Five years for a kettle seems a good innings to me.

This was bought as a replacement for an old kettle that sprung a leak. It's a plain design, and looks smart. It boils water! It was chosen partly because it has a water gauge on both sides, as the other person in the house is left handed.

I haven't given it 5 stars because the water level is not so easy to see in the side column. It's about as noisy as my old kettle - if I use it when listening to the radio, I still have to turn the volume up.

I can't comment on longevity yet, I've only had it a month. The handbook doesn't say how long the guarantee is, so I had to check the Philips website to get it in writing - it's 2 years.

Everything good about this kettle except we had to replace the previous kettle same model after just 2 over years due to the plastic lid hinge broke.

Good value for money. Easy to use and handle. This is my second purchase based on good experience.

This kettle is quiet, boils quickly and looks good it is energy efficient because of the fill markings you only need to boil as much water as you need. This is my second kettle of this brand it lasted about five years in a very hard water area so I was very pleased to find the same model still in production.

Kettle is compact and light. Glad to know that I am using less electricity, however I have always only boiled small amounts of water so I am hoping that this kettle, is saving even more eleccy than my last one. I do however have a small wish that I had bought a quick and quiet boil kettle which cost the same as this one. Delivery was tip top. Next day.

Best kettle ever have had 3 over years

This is the second one of these kettles I have had. The first was excellent as it boiled water quickly and quietly. However this new one boils water quickly but is so noisy compared with my original kettle. I cannot understand why this is as the two kettles look to be identical.
I am a bit disappointed because my previous Philips kettle was so good.
