Hotplate switches off without notice!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

As a Which? Best Buy, this should be worth more than 3 stars. However, one important fault knocks a couple of stars off my rating.Unfortunately, the unit switches off very soon after coffee is made. No warning, just lukewarm coffee! It's too late to return it, and I wouldn't want to. We like hot coffee, so a repair would be useful, but how?

Cold coffee after 40 minutes (machine turns off after 40 minutes by design) Useless !!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Turns off after 40 minutes by design! Hadn't realised this was a feature and wouldn't have bought it if I had. Useless as a replacement for my old filter coffee maker which I could leave in all day and get a hot cup of coffee when I needed one. With this machine however you either have to make one cup at a time or drink cold coffee after 40 minutes. Pointless really

Not one I'd choose again
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Bought as a "Which" recommended productng. It is is easy to use, and quick to produce the coffee. But it produces a slightly more bitter brew than my previous machine.Acceptable, but not the best I've tasted. The filter assembly is bulky, and tricky to clean. That filter unit seems fragile, too. After about a week of use, the valve that prevents drips when the carafe is removed fell apart. Argos (as I'd expect) replaced it without demur, but it raises questions about the machine's durability.

Leaked on first attempt of using the machine
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The machine is not fit for purpose. I unpacked the item and poured water into the water dispenser. Water immediately started coming from somewhere inside the machine and flooded the worktop. I assumed I had put water in the wrong place, dried it all and did it again and the same thing happened.I returned the item the following day.

A "Which?" fake review?
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This machine was rated very highly by which (top amongst filter machines) but has been a great disappointment. The coffee tasted strongly of plastic for the first three months of virtually daily use; I got used to it after a few weeks, but months later a friend couldn't drink the coffee I made him because it tasted (possibly, he thought, dangerously) of plastic. The filter container is just the wrong shape for filters so that, no matter how careful I am, the paper frequently collapses on itself and most of the coffee remains un-brewed, leaving discoloured hot water in the jug. I say "hot" but actually it isn't very. After today's filter collapse, it's heading for the council's recycling compound after about a year's poor service; my previous two machines (a Breville and Philips) lasted over ten years each.

You can any amount of coffee. But I expected something better
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Needs some improvement. You can make any amount of coffee. Filters are not that expensive, so you don't need to worry about extra cost. I'd prefer it a bit smaller. But I've seen bigger ones.Sadly it's not non drip. Literally everytime when I remove the jug, the coffee drips on the hot plate.Same with filters. When I open the filter holder, water just drips everywhere. It's really annoying I must say cause I need to wipe my coffee machine and the counter after every use

Water not hot enough
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The water only "Boils" at 71C. This makes the lukewarm coffee taste bitter. To make good coffee it needs to "boil" at over 85C. It was almost impossible to get the specification from Di Longhi about what the water temperature should be, all they would say is it should be between 70C & 80C.Do not waste your money on this., if you want cheap nasty coffee better buy instant.

Not a patch on my previous Delonghi machine
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Dissappointed that Argos description omits two important facts - firstly this has not got a permanent filter so you have to buy paper ones for one off usage. Secondly it switches itself off after about 40 mins - so my third cup of coffee is cold! Lid to the jug is flimsy and easily dislodged when washing it. My previous DeLonghi (unfortunately no longer available) which lasted 6 years of daily use had a permanent filter, kept my coffee hot for as long as I wanted and was far more robust.

Careful with the filter
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The only issue I have with this coffee maker is that when you swing the filter to close it, you can catch the paper filter and 'fold it over' inside the funnel. Meaning that the hot water effectively bypasses the coffee, making a very weak coffee!

Very disappointing cheap plastics used in manufacture. The filter door kept swinging open and hot water squirted everywhere. Not fit for purpose so I returned it. Very efficient return procedure.

Beware!!
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

You CANNOT disable the 40 minutes cut off. If this had been made clear in the description I would not have wasted my money on this. Delonghi suggested that I buy one that is five times the price if I am not happy. Well I am not happy because the description, reviews and answers below are wrong. Completely useless if like me you want to have a pot of coffee spread across the morning.
