Cheap, dinky, not particularly fit for purpose

It's a shame when you order something with 1,000 reviews in a hurry only to realise when you get the item that it's one of the cursed ones where all the reviews are fake!

This waffle iron is cheap, lightweight, and dinky. It's also not well-engineered.

The plates of the iron aren't quite deep enough so the waffle-pits are too thin and crunchy. The waffles end up tough and hard before they get crispy on the outside (I have tried four recipes, so I don't think it's just my cooking).

The rim around the plates that is supposed to protect you from a mess when you overpour does not function. It's not deep enough, nor large enough, so if you DO overpour, the waffle comes pouring out the sides, crusting itself all over your cabinets and waffle iron. ALSO, even if you DONT overpour (I haven't managed a pour ONCE that manages to FILL the iron, yet somehow the mix always seems to come out the edges anyway! I wind up with 2 waffles that are kind of full sized and two very deformed half-waffles. What a disaster!).

Difficult to clean, plates are not removable and obviously all the spillage causes the mess to cake on the sides/feet of the waffle iron and then get cooked into waffle-cement on the sides of the machine.

Do NOT under any circumstances buy this waffle iron. I am so incredibly disappointed. I had a waffle iron from the 70s growing up and it was better than this--how can they manage to get something so wrong?

EDIT: Also, it appears a lot of the reviews mention a 'latch' that holds the iron closed while cooking. Mine doesn't have a latch, so it appears the majority of the reviews might not even be for this product! How misleading.

Avoid!!!!!!!

Got to admit I was looking forward to this, but I’m afraid that, so far, it’s not living up to expectations. Seems to take way longer than the instructions say to cook a waffle (I believe the instructions say 4-8 minutes) mine were in for over 10 and then I had to turn them to get an even browning. Not a very good rise, although that may be because of the recipe I was following, Don’t expect waffles to look anything like the picture shown. If I could be bothered I’d send it back - but I’m pretty sure I’d get a replacement just as bad. Getting solace in saying look for another manufacturer.
