Cheap, dinky, not particularly fit for purpose
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

It's a shame when you order something with 1,000 reviews in a hurry only to realise when you get the item that it's one of the cursed ones where all the reviews are fake!

This waffle iron is cheap, lightweight, and dinky. It's also not well-engineered.

The plates of the iron aren't quite deep enough so the waffle-pits are too thin and crunchy. The waffles end up tough and hard before they get crispy on the outside (I have tried four recipes, so I don't think it's just my cooking).

The rim around the plates that is supposed to protect you from a mess when you overpour does not function. It's not deep enough, nor large enough, so if you DO overpour, the waffle comes pouring out the sides, crusting itself all over your cabinets and waffle iron. ALSO, even if you DONT overpour (I haven't managed a pour ONCE that manages to FILL the iron, yet somehow the mix always seems to come out the edges anyway! I wind up with 2 waffles that are kind of full sized and two very deformed half-waffles. What a disaster!).

Difficult to clean, plates are not removable and obviously all the spillage causes the mess to cake on the sides/feet of the waffle iron and then get cooked into waffle-cement on the sides of the machine.

Do NOT under any circumstances buy this waffle iron. I am so incredibly disappointed. I had a waffle iron from the 70s growing up and it was better than this--how can they manage to get something so wrong?

EDIT: Also, it appears a lot of the reviews mention a 'latch' that holds the iron closed while cooking. Mine doesn't have a latch, so it appears the majority of the reviews might not even be for this product! How misleading.

Avoid!!!!!!!

Got to admit I was looking forward to this, but I’m afraid that, so far, it’s not living up to expectations. Seems to take way longer than the instructions say to cook a waffle (I believe the instructions say 4-8 minutes) mine were in for over 10 and then I had to turn them to get an even browning. Not a very good rise, although that may be because of the recipe I was following, Don’t expect waffles to look anything like the picture shown. If I could be bothered I’d send it back - but I’m pretty sure I’d get a replacement just as bad. Getting solace in saying look for another manufacturer.

Well worth the money, better than bought waffles, so quick to make
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Bought this for the grandkids, to live on their kitchen worktop. They love it, use it most mornings. To start with we made up a homemade waffle mix (recipe found online) kept that in the fridge in two jars. In the mornings just poured it onto the waffle maker and it was waffle a go go. As we progressed through various waffle recipes we settled on one that had hardly any sugar in it and then onto one that didnt have any sugar at all. Since a lot of the time the kids were using chocolate spread and peanut butter, the sugar is not necessary.
We even progressed onto buying a good sized jug and keeping it in that in the fridge. We made it in the liquidiser but you dont need to do that, just a bowl and a fork will do it, just like making yorkshire pud mix really, just add a bit of olive oil to the mix. Lots of recipes online for free, you will have to experiment
You can keep it scrumptiously naughty, with syrup, choc spread, ice cream or low key yoghurt and berries, bananas etc. Try adding cheese to some of the mix or mashed potato. Add beans and any veg or meats of your choice to the end result. We even put the cooked waffle into the toaster (or under the grill) for an extra crispiness
If you keep your mix ready it is really quick to use for breakfast. it is a brilliant gadget

Great waffle maker
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

What a great product. The waffles made in this are huge and cook very quickly and evenly. I’ve owned waffle makers in the past but ended up getting rid of them due to faults and design flaws. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

Waffles for everyone (but mostly for me!)
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I can't decide if this is one of the best things I've bought or if it was a terrible, terrible purchase. I spent so long umming and ahhing over whether to buy a waffle maker, after about a week I caved and after spending a good long while (several nights actually) scouring Amazon I decided that this was the waffle maker for me. I eagerly awaited it, and when it arrived (on pancake day, no less!) I unboxed it and I was very impressed with how it looked, all shiny and nice and neat.
I already had the recipe ready, and I set to making up some waffles. The waffle maker was so easy to use and the waffles were truly delicious. Unfortunately, I have now been eating nothing but waffles since pancake day. I would say, if you are a normal human being who can easily maintain a balanced diet then yes, this is the waffle maker for you, it's easy to use, it cleans well and the waffles are a good size. If, however, you're someone like me, with very limited baking/cooking skills and don't have an ounce of willpower to your name, do not do it!! I have forgotten what vegetables taste like. Please send help (and bring more eggs...)

Buy it..... Worth every penny. And it works great
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Bought this on a whim. Fancied waffles with the kids at the weekend and not too pricey. Got a bag of waffle mix and set to work...... Omg this machine is amazing. For less than it would cost for me to take the family out for waffles its brilliant. Safe enough for the kids to get involved. Simple to use and I'd say probably one of the best gadgets we have bought from amazon this year. If your reading this and thinking about it... Do it. Way cheaper than taking them out and can do it every weekend. This weekend we are having savory waffles yum yum
