It's a nice kettle. Stylish and worked well. Good to use. The trouble is , the sensor/control system has failed just out of warranty (2 years). I cleaned and decalcified the kettle as per AEG recommendations but still the problem persists. The 'on' button will cut out and switch off the kettle. It's probably the in-kettle sensor, but we are in a very low calcium area and even after two cleaning sessions. it's still unreliable. A premium brand really should do better. Beware of kettles that are overly complicated - more to go wrong!
furry murrayThe product is great from a look and feel. My issues were with setup and the app - when setting up the screen asking for Wi-fi password would not let me enter one so I assumed it was preset. 4 hours later ... finally got setup but the app needs to improve. Google home has disconnected/ can’t find it every time I ask but Alexa works fine. It’s handy and the loud beep does get annoying after a few boils. I can recommend but remember this only can be setup on a 2.4 ghz network (painful if most of you network is synced etc). Have fun,
Darren MThe best kettle I’ve had. Pours beautifully. Boils quickly. 1.7L is plenty. Looks good. Bonus choice of water temperature for posh teas. Keep warm function which I haven’t used but sounds handy. Three beeps when it’s boiled - not intrusive. Very easy to see water indicator. Only potential improvement would be a ‘one cup’ fill line as it has a rapid boil, but you can guess that around 250-300ml would do the job.
Emma in HampshireDo NOT buy this product under any circumstances. Bought on 18th Jan. handle has dislodged and lid will not flip open. Unable to use anymore. Total 85 days use out of this kettle, can't get through to a help desk but have been told by a recording that the nearest repair centre is in Nuneaton and I live in Birmingham.
Anthony BrittonFor the money its overpriced. A plastic and stainless steel kettle. I liked it for a year or so but whether its living in a hardwater area or just the quality of build by year 3 im looking for a more robust alternative even if not so stylish of with so many features. Perhaps if you live in a softwater area and dont mate coffee and tea as much as I do yo will love this product. Otherwise I would say style over substance.
samLove the kettle. But very disappointed that I can't control it digitally. I had hoped that I could integrate this with alexa etc but no such luck! Even using alexa plugs this still doesn't work effectively. You need to have the kettle "on" so that yiu can switch it on.Apart from this lovely item. Just wish I had known it wouldn't quite work as expected :(
PandaIf you need a kettle with a range of temperatures, then this item should suit. 8 different temperature settings at 100, 95, 90, 85, 80, 70, 60 and 50 degC. I particularly like the 50 and 60 degC settings for heating water to a temperature for hand washing special glasses etc.Well designed and well engineered product.Definitely recommend
Amazon CustomerA really well designed premium kettle that works well, is easy to handle and looks good in the kitchen. The component parts of the kettle are well made and have a quality feel. It makes watching a kettle boil fun as you can see the temperature increase on a clear LCD screen. Highly recommended.
keitmortGood kettle, takes longer to boil than old kettle, but that doesn’t matter. Boils to what temperature you select & beeps when it’s ready. Don’t know about cleaning it, that’s the wife’s job!
JosephvipThis is beautiful. It is a good size and weight. The temperature is easy to set and not too noisy for boiling. The two niggles I have are the temperature gauge is behind the handle and the beeps at the end of boiling.Early morning the beeps seem very loud. It's not enough to spoil what is a lovely kettle and overall this is a good kettle that looks smart on the work surface and functions as it should
helen whiteI love it!!! For clarity in 1st picture I am pointing to the kettle to show you the kettle. Picture 2 shows a very satisfied thumbs up. Picture 3 is to prove beyond doubt this kettle does not resemble Penne pasta and therefore cant cause culinary confusion, afterall we dont want fatties munching the kettle and not a cheeky wee pasta snack!
David MurphyReally good looking kettle. Smart and clean. However only lasted less than 2 years!!! Intermittent fault when it does not boil or even start when it should. Emailed manufacturer but no reply from AEG. Contacted Amazon and told to contact AEG. Fancy, expensive kettle. Don't bother with it. Will be buying a cheap one again. Last cheapy kettle lasted 10 years and only replaced it when it didn't match new kitchen.AEG customer service 0 out of 5Amazon customer service 1 out of 5 (at least they spoke with us.
TasscottOnly thing I thought wrong was the water level glass on the side. It was not clear where the water is without peering very hard. Other than that it’s a good kettle, lots of little added features such as one cup turbo (and it is turbo), keep warm and various preset programmes. Looks good too.
JewelsNice looking kettle with simple control over a variety of temperatures. However, as others have said it, quickly develops a fault in which the kettle fails to turn off once it boils. Not only is this potentially dangerous it is also very energy inefficient. I expected more from AEG and from a premium priced kettle, sadly just not good enough.
Duncan HeavisidesThis kettle worked fine...until it didn't. The features are good, although it struggles to gauge the temperature when scale builds up in the kettle, descaling would get it working properly again. Until ...2 years and 4 days after we bought it (just 4 days after warranty expired) it developed an electrical fault. Plugged it in and it tripped the fusebox. Twice. Sent fault information to AEG online, no reply after 4 days. Been on the phone to them for 35 minutes so far and no-one can take the call or answer any questions, just being passed from one person to the next. I really liked the features but won't buy AEG/electrolux again. Faults will happen every now and then, but 2 years operation is not good enough for a £60 kettle and it is impossible to get through to anyone from customer service.
E K SExcellent. Temperature modes are very handy and seem relatively accurate. Not the fastest kettle in the world but that doesn't bother me.
B. ReadmanLove this ketle.Temperature control for drinks that are better at certain temperature etc. Peeps when water at boiling point.I thought at first it was a bit loud but seems quieter now.Looks expensive and it is a bit more than a lot of kettles, but worth the extra.I was lucky and bought a warehouse deal, and it was just a damaged box, kettle was perfect.
borgesiLid latch issues and spout fail to poor clean accurate flow .many many sold i bought mine as faulty its working perfectly but the lid fail to open with button is such a bad manufacturers errors .
mcrukI’m so disappointed with this kettle and AEG’s lack of customer service, within a couple of months of using the kettle I noticed it stopped switching off, my son was in the kitchen and the water was spilling and bubbling out of the top (the kettle wasn’t overfilled), the cut off mechanism was hit and miss when it reached boiling point and this was very dangerous. I emailed AEG straight away, explained I had safety concerns and initially I heard back, they asked for the make and model, I sent it across and i’ve never heard anything since. I called the AEG contact number that Amazon provided and it takes you to an automated service, I left my contact details in excess of 10 times and clearly stated I was calling to complain, plus I sent a legal letter to them and they have still not replied. As other reviewers have stated, the outside of the kettle becomes extremely hot, to the point it will burn you if you accidentally touch it; my much cheaper previous kettle had better quality safety features than this product had.I had serious concerns about the quality and safety of the kettle, the over boiling wasn’t the only issue, the illuminated thermometer behind the handle stopped working, making it difficult to see how much water you were putting in, unless you looked inside and the base indicator randomly jumped from one cup to keep warm.I stopped using the kettle despite it costing £79.99 within 4 months of buying it and it still being under guarantee. I would not recommend this kettle or AEG based on my experience.
CTA well made and stylish product. Complete control over temperature. The only downside it that the body of the kettle is very hot after it has boiled so only use the handle. My previous kettle (Bosch) had a cool touch outer but this is still a fab product
