Don't buy it - it leaks
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is the second kettle of this model that I have bought. The first one lasted a few years but started to leak. The second one, purchased in June 2019, is already leaking. Water is dripping onto the switch, which seems very dangerous to me. I suggest you look for an alternative model.

Defective lid - didn't get past two boils
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Very disappointed. Received this item today and proceeded to boil the kettle twice (as advised by the manufacturer, to get rid of any manufacturing dust etc. before actual use). After the second boil the lid is now stuck and won't open. I now have to return this item which requires me driving to a drop off point.

Stainless steel rusting after 6 weeks
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This stainless steel kettle is rusting after less than two months... Does not bode well for future use. Originally bought another style Russell Hobbs kettle (plastic) but returned due to the awful taste of the boiled water. This kettle does its job. There is often water around the lid (condensation escaping i believe) so isn't well sealed. All in all a pretty poor kettle for the mid-range price tag.

Makes the Water taste horrible.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This Kettle looks great but it has a major problem. The Kettle for some reason makes the water taste horrible. We followed the instructions by filling up twice, boiling and rinsing but the water still tastes vile. I am going to give it a week andif it's still ruining the taste then I will return it.

This is very disappointing as I was very pleased with my purchase when it first arrived
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Oh dear, first I had problems with my Russell Hobbs toaster and now the kettle has turned out to be dangerous. There is something wrong with the spout. When I pour boiling water out, about a quarter of the water leaks down the front of the kettle and drips/gushes over my hand/the floor. I have tried pouring slowly and fast and tipping the kettle at different angles but the problem is the same. This is very disappointing as I was very pleased with my purchase when it first arrived. I would like to know if other people have had this problem or if I just have a faulty kettle. If the latter, I would like it to be replaced.

This kettle is good but it's noisy. The last RH kettle I had lasted me about 15 years. Let's see if this one stands the test of time!

Broken after 13 months...
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I bought this kettle on 11 October 2016 and it has only lasted 13 months. The kettle is now broken. It worked well for the year but surely a product like a kettle should last longer than a year?

... months now I have to say although it looks nice overall and fits well in our kitchen
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

After having this product for almost six months now I have to say although it looks nice overall and fits well in our kitchen, it is a lot noisier than initially anticipated. I'm dealing with it because I am about the aesthetic and it boils quickly so I don't think I have much to whine about. The flip top still responds and hasn't stuck or gotten loose, which is nice. My house mate did accidentally drop a jar of spices on to the top of the kettle so there's been a slither of plastic that's cracked and broken off. It seemed to happen very easily and so now there is a gap besides the usual spout where steam escapes. So if I had one drawback it would be that I wish the lid was as sturdy as the rest of it. Other than that, a good product.

Boils water, but...
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

You would of thought, after all these years, that Russell Hobbs could design a kettle that when the lid is opened, the condensation doesn't run down the kettle and end up around the switch aperture and on the base.

Not worth the metal it's made of
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

DO NOT BUY THIS. Kettle is poorly designed and consistently pours scalding water out the lid. Boil time is longer than most kettles and it sounds like a jet taking off for about 2 minutes.
