From the outset opln boiling when u pour water out it splatters causing spillage of boiling water. Then water dribbles down the front. It is now 13 months old and I will need to replace it So no longer good value for money maybe that's why it was reduced in price .I will need to find the box as I think it cane with a two year guarantee
sweetie64When switched on to boil it is far far too noisy if I had known this I would not have purchased this product .Also the, switch on occasions cuts out before boiling has been reached
David HamiltonThis is the second kettle of this model that I have bought. The first one lasted a few years but started to leak. The second one, purchased in June 2019, is already leaking. Water is dripping onto the switch, which seems very dangerous to me. I suggest you look for an alternative model.
Deborah HayesVery disappointed. Received this item today and proceeded to boil the kettle twice (as advised by the manufacturer, to get rid of any manufacturing dust etc. before actual use). After the second boil the lid is now stuck and won't open. I now have to return this item which requires me driving to a drop off point.
A customerThis stainless steel kettle is rusting after less than two months... Does not bode well for future use. Originally bought another style Russell Hobbs kettle (plastic) but returned due to the awful taste of the boiled water. This kettle does its job. There is often water around the lid (condensation escaping i believe) so isn't well sealed. All in all a pretty poor kettle for the mid-range price tag.

This Kettle looks great but it has a major problem. The Kettle for some reason makes the water taste horrible. We followed the instructions by filling up twice, boiling and rinsing but the water still tastes vile. I am going to give it a week andif it's still ruining the taste then I will return it.
GWStarted to leak and internal coating started to flake off after a year old so it was thrown out do not buy. I bought another from amazon but not from Russell Hobbs
Ian StewartOh dear, first I had problems with my Russell Hobbs toaster and now the kettle has turned out to be dangerous. There is something wrong with the spout. When I pour boiling water out, about a quarter of the water leaks down the front of the kettle and drips/gushes over my hand/the floor. I have tried pouring slowly and fast and tipping the kettle at different angles but the problem is the same. This is very disappointing as I was very pleased with my purchase when it first arrived. I would like to know if other people have had this problem or if I just have a faulty kettle. If the latter, I would like it to be replaced.

TFThis kettle is good but it's noisy. The last RH kettle I had lasted me about 15 years. Let's see if this one stands the test of time!
zottobarworks well and quickly, but could benefit from an easy to look at water volume indicator. Loud noise level drowns out conversation!
Marjorie ThompsonI bought this kettle on 11 October 2016 and it has only lasted 13 months. The kettle is now broken. It worked well for the year but surely a product like a kettle should last longer than a year?
Mr Benjamin WalkerAfter having this product for almost six months now I have to say although it looks nice overall and fits well in our kitchen, it is a lot noisier than initially anticipated. I'm dealing with it because I am about the aesthetic and it boils quickly so I don't think I have much to whine about. The flip top still responds and hasn't stuck or gotten loose, which is nice. My house mate did accidentally drop a jar of spices on to the top of the kettle so there's been a slither of plastic that's cracked and broken off. It seemed to happen very easily and so now there is a gap besides the usual spout where steam escapes. So if I had one drawback it would be that I wish the lid was as sturdy as the rest of it. Other than that, a good product.
BeeYou would of thought, after all these years, that Russell Hobbs could design a kettle that when the lid is opened, the condensation doesn't run down the kettle and end up around the switch aperture and on the base.
SteveBought this kettle in May 2016. Worked fine until today when it came apart and emptied a kettle full of scalding water all over my kitchen worktop. This item is faulty as designed and a serious health & safety risk!!!

I. MelvinKettle is advertised as polished stainless steel it is in fact brushed i have not used it and have bought another elsewhere as i bought it to go with my polished toaster so it was a waste of money
motorshark_123It's cheap quality.
zoh0360DO NOT BUY THIS. Kettle is poorly designed and consistently pours scalding water out the lid. Boil time is longer than most kettles and it sounds like a jet taking off for about 2 minutes.
Steve KStylish and beautifully finished, the 20611 Russell Hobbs Canterbury Kettle will coordinate with any toaster or kitchen. This polished kettle boasts a high 3kw rapid boil with a concealed element which is easy to clean. With a generous 1.7L capacity, you can boil as much or as little as you need using the handy side water gauge built into the handle. For easy filling, there is a push button lid and the on/off switch illuminates red when in use. For a neat and tidy kitchen, cord storage is a feature of the base. To prolong the life of your kettle, there is a removable, washable filter in the spout. And for extra reassurance, this all comes with a guarantee for up to 3 yrs.
