I am very pleased with this item.
Amazon CustomerI bought this for my husband, who used to make single-cup filter coffee for himself. He is delighted with the new machine, and the coffee is so much superior that now I drink it as well. We don't make much use of the milk frother because we only use skimmed milk, which doesn't froth well, but that is our fault.
Dr. P. M. StonemanI did not purchase my coffee maker through Amazon as I did find it much cheaper elsewhere. I found it very easy to assemble, instructions are easy to follow. I have found that because I like a stronger coffee it is best to buy at least strength of 7. Also make sure you press the coffee down with the presser (on right side of machine) Using the right size of milk jug is also advised, I had to use a larger than needed the first time and I did get milk splattering a little. Makes a nice HOT cup of coffee (I use mugs and just remove the drip tray) I am also going to try some of the coffee recipes. http://www.delonghi.com/en-gb/recipesI can not find any fault with this machine as the weak coffee was my own fault. I highly recommend this machine, but advice you search for the best price mine was half price in the sales,(£65) but having said that, if I had paid £100+ I would have still been very happy with the results.

I purchased this coffee machine from another retailer but thought I would review it here.We bought this particular machine for two reasons: first because we wanted a traditional-style coffee machine and thought this one would look good in the kitchen; and second because with this machine we could use ground coffee or ESE pods, which in the long run works out much cheaper than other speciality pod machines. In both of these respects this product is a success. In terms of design for use, the machine is relatively easy to use. There are a few issues, though. There's a measuring spoon to put the right amount of ground coffee into the filter, which is good, and then you can just tamp it gently to level it down (not too firmly or the espresso will not come out well). It is a little bit awkward to twist the filter fully into position in the machine. The milk steamer/frother works well, but the arm for it could do with a bit more length/flexibility. You'll also need a separate milk jug to use it (I'm just using my normal kitchen jug, and I'm sure you could pick up a proper milk jug cheaply, but worth noting that it's not included in the box). Also, when using the steamer, I often need to let out some into a separate cup as hot water dribbles out at first - even though it has been preheated. The water tank has a good capacity but feels a little flimsy. However you don't actually need to remove it to fill up, just lift the flap and pour water in, so the tank only needs removing occasionally if you're descaling or giving the machine a full clean and so I think it's unlikely that the flimsy tank would be a problem. The final issue is that getting the used ground coffee out of the filter is not that easy. There's a little clip that you can flip over one edge to (theoretically) stop the filter from falling out when you turn the handle over to tap the coffee out (the filter is otherwise not secured at all). In reality the coffee gets stuck in the filter and you'd have to bash it pretty hard to get all the coffee out in which cas

This is a well-designed, quiet and reasonably attractive machine which produces first class espresso. Using Lavazza ground coffee, we've enjoyed cup after cup of superb coffee with an outstanding crema which lasts the whole cup through. Wonderful! The shell and switches are all plastic, but of solid construction and nice ergonomic design. The water reservoir is removable for filling with an integrated sealing valve, while the pump is noticeably quieter in use than our previous Delonghi machine. Setting up and use is all covered in straightforward English (not "translationese") in a comprehensive instruction manual.
