Exactly what I wanted

Really disappointed with the Dualit toaster. I should have listened to the 'WHICH' do not buy review. The copper ends are permanently disfigured from what will inevitably happen when you clean your kitchen surface tops with non-bleach kitchen spray. Spoke to a customer service member at Dualit called Sally who was very unprofessional and said I should be more careful and said "I have attacked the toaster". If you have to have this toaster then do not buy the one with copper ends and go for stainless steel but honestly save your money on what is an overpriced item.

Bought this to replace a similar Dualit toaster that has lasted over sixteen years. Simple to use and makes great toast, although the bread benefits from being shuffled to ensure even colour. Expensive but worth the money.

This is a good toaster: rather overpriced in my view. It produces good toast but the slots don’t accommodate large slices so you end up with a narrow strip of untoasted bread, which is annoying.

Simple operation easy controls. Would be easy to repair and locate parts yourself. Previous one still in use after 35 years.The chrome and copper model has a real retro but modern outlook. On top of this, its not from China but British made!

Simple lines and efficient in the toasting department.

Lightweight and flimsy construction, best avoided. Replaced under warranty. Very convoluted credit /voucher purchase between Sainsbury's and Argos. About time these two High Street Giants got their act together. Major accounting difficulties ahead if they do not.

not even toasting. the lower parts of the toasts are done quicker than the upper ones.looks like it's made for a bit thicker slices of bread than what our breads here in Israel are sliced to, which may cause the slice to get caought upon ejectinglack of "ready" bell.[there is a little thermostat click, but it's not enough]looks like it is well built and will live long.

I just recently purchased this product, so it is still early days. So far I am happy with the overall build quality & performance. It has a smooth & positive action on the lever mechanism that exudes quality. Most impressive is the speed & evenness of the toast it produces. Well worth the asking price. My only criticism is that there is no indication that the toaster is switched on, until you engage the the lever. This is only a minor gripe as the advice is to never leave it plugged in.

The toaster has 9 levels of browning control. Any level above 2 will burn the toasts. The first time I used it with temperature 3 my fire alarm went off. Anything above 1 burnt the toasts. I replaced it as I thought it was faulty. But the replacement has the same problem, this time anything above level 2 will trigger the fire alarm. I am returning it and getting a toaster from a different brand.

There is an air of understated quality to this toaster which feels well made and works well. It is nicely compact but still handles standard sized bread perfectly. My only criticism is that level 3 gives a dark brown so what the top level would do, I don't want to know. Recommended.
