This is not the FX20V they sent the FX20VE!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is not the FX20V they will send you the FX20VE instead. Be aware. The item is not as advertised and you will get one with a 30 min run back timer instead. I am sure this falls foul of the trade descriptions act. What is advertised is not what is being sold - so i'm afraid i am returning.

Bathroom heater
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

This bathroom heater says it has thermostat but when you get it home and unpack it there is no thermostat , we brought this heater for the reason it said it had a thermostat and was expensive I could have got a normal Bathroom heater for half the price Surely this is against trading standards advertising it with a thermostat and charging more for it ??

WHAT A DISASTER
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The on/off switch on my old Glen heater stopped working. When the electrician attempted to fit the new Dimplex he discovered that the electricals seemed a bit loose. When he switched it on there was a BIG BANG and the electrical bits went black. However, as the two heaters appeared practically identical, he took the on/off switch off the Dimplex and fitted it the old Glen, which then worked perfectly.

Wish I'd read the negative reviews first

It cuts out after about a minute when set to 2kw. Only works on the 1kw setting. Chose it because of the Dimplex brand name and because it was an Amazon Choice item Now wish I hadn't.

Poor quality

Doesn’t give out a great deal of heat and no option to increase the temperature. Very flimsy casing, doubt very much it will last long!

Faulty item
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The item was only 4 months old when it started malfunctioning. It should automatically switch off after 20 minutes but no longer does this. I have tried on 1Kw setting as well as 2Kw setting but both have the same fault. The power setting is not very user friendly as changing from 1 to 2 Kw is not a simple task either, especially if you do not have the correct screwdriver. Guarantee terms are not clear either. Do not recommend this.

Thermostat fails. Don't buy unless you know electronics
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Failed after using it for 3 months. + the reviews of "Don't set the both heating fins on". I.e. don't set the internal swith to 2 is true. Don't do it as the fan gives of less heat for whatever weird reason. Less heat when turning on another heat source. Unbelievable that this device is still sold with so many known issues. Bottom line, you can salvage this if you know electronics. Otherwise don't buy it!

Expensive and unreliable
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The first one I bought worked ok running for a few minutes a day for a week and then cut out after running for a minute never to restart so I returned it. The second one never started at all so has been returned. I went for Dimplex because of the name and the Amazon reviews.
Despairing I went for what looked like a cheaper different model from another supplier - but imagine my surprise to find I had the same product £18 cheaper with a different brand name. This has just been installed and is running ok - but for how long I know not.

Bad colour
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Disappointed as the picture showed a white heater but when unpacked it was a dirty yellow/cream colour, so the item was returned. Quick return and refund service and I'm sure it works well but a more full description on the web site would have been useful.

Works, after you wire it up.
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

No mains cable supplied so you have to open it up and wire it yourself (buy cable a plug and a fuse). How to get into it was not clear and didn't work. I ended up using a hacksaw. Remember to clamp the wiring internally for safety Brown obviously goes to L Blue to N cut and crop the Green/ Yellow- not needed. Set the output from 1KW to 2KW. I sealed the unit using Gaffa tape, Nice little project to pass a Saturday morning :)
