It was fine for the first few months, then I didn't use it for 6 months and it stopped working.
Juan J GaleanoTerrible budget grinder. Broke within a few months. The plastic on the lid is weak and cracked - which prevents the grinder from working. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
KirstenWhat a load of garbage... literally used this twice to grind spices and smoke came out of the button and that was all she wrote... literally used this twice and I can’t even return this as the returns deadline expired. Doesn’t come with a warranty nor can I find instructions to contact Amazon who are the sellers of this piece of junk... for an extra 2£ you can get a reputable make so stay away from this con.
Amazon CustomerIt grinds really well. I use it to grind coffee but then actually getting the ground coffee out is a bit of a struggle as the blade can't be removed the lid is wide so tipping it into something else makes a mess of the kitchen. Also, the plug doesn't detach so you have to clean it with plug in tow. Probably going to look for something else to replace this soon.
Mr R.Bought this to replace one that had a lid that was difficult to clean i.e. time wasting not a good thing when it can be engineered out.
Positives: comparatively quiet and effective at chopping and grinding.
Negatives: messy to clean. Lid is threaded to body and when opened product invariably coats the threads; lid is a moulded two piece with many hollows and crevices - a one piece without these would have been easier and cheaper; the ridge created where the plastic mouth and stainless steel grinding cup meet has to be cleaned from below with something pointed or a finger nail. All avoidable with proper design. Do you really mean to tell me they did not look at the short-comings of the competition in the market place first? It is only a grinder, how difficult can it be?

D. R. H.Basically I use it just for linen seeds. I know it sounds crazy. Maybe it is. Anyway, I tried once with almonds and hazelnuts but I was breaking the blades or something. However, I don't know what else put inside it, but with linen seeds is very good, after tried with salt and pepper grinder in wood or in glass and with the mortar I don't get crazy anymore. Thank you modern technology.
VyperpunkHave used for coffee only so far. Grinds very quickly - almost too much so as the grind time has to be short to avoid turning coffee into a fine powder (and making a bitter cafetiere coffee) and so the grind is accordingly rather uneven. If you are looking to grind enough for more than 2-4 people and/or you want very finely ground coffee this would be perfect. Equally for making spice rubs I'd imagine it would totally fit the bill (and seems robust).
For cafetiere coffee I'm considering purchasing a cheap burr grinder instead.

Richard S.Looks great, unfortunately broke after about 2 minutes.Metal drive spindle connected to plastic centre of the metal blades sheared after a few minutes.
EmalUpdate on previous review: it has now broken after 20 months of being used about once every day or two days to grind one cup's worth of coffee - which only takes about 10 seconds. Changed the fuse on it and it worked again then the next day it wouldn't function and so changed fuse again but no luck, it doesn't work anymore.Previous review:Quick and even grind (coffee beans or herbs), reliable and easy to clean with a few wipes around inside. After using another grinder which had a removable container for washing I discovered coffee got under that container anyway and you had to wipe it out still so I would go with one like this again should it ever break. No signs of rust after using every day for 6 months and never quite drying it properly. Recommended!
LJThe grinder is good, it works well on the coffee beans I grind in it, however the grinding chamber is not removable so can not be taken apart and cleaned in a through manner ( can not be immersed.in soap water or stuck in the dishwasher). To clean you take the top of and wash it in the normal manner but the main section, which gets covered.in the grinds, can only be wiped around with a damp cloth. The cleaning would be more of.an issue if the grinder were to be used for different items... for example garlic and chilli with the fast.of your previous coffee grind.... not so appealing.
