Well worth the money for the consistency and quality of the grind. Transformed my coffee at home, one of the best things I've bought in years.
I. WardA pattern is developing here with Sage equipment. Great out of the box, but both the coffee machine and now the grinder have packed up after a period of moderate use.Avoid
Amazon CustomerReplacement for a very beloved middle grade Starbucks grinder we had tweaked And which died of old age - most brilliant replacement! Easy to clean, easy to program, saves settings, coffee tastes amazing. FULL 5 STARS in all categories
HappyCustomerLove it...it's a great product
FilAmazing grinder easy to play around with settings until you achieve the perfect result.
MPP PrimeExpensive but honestly worth it. Had a more reasonably priced grinder but truly doesnt compare. If your really into your coffee and genuinely going to make use of a grinder then I cant recommend this highly enough.
LozYou know how some reviews can be really wordy? Well, here's what you really need to know:1) It's looks great in the kitchen - brushed steel and pale blue lighting. Nice!2) Easy to set up - took less than five minutes to fit the attachments and be ready to go.3) Easy to adjust - turn the knob left and right to adjust the time of the grind, and rotate another adjust coarseness.4) Once set to your liking, you just insert the portafilter and give it a slight nudge to prompt it into action. Now, the million dollar question - is the coffee any better? The quality of the crema is better: darker, slightly thicker, and smells and tastes better. Is it £179 better? If nice coffee and a nice-looking kitchen gadget is your thing - it is mine - I was happy to pay the premium.
PaulFantastic grinder. Expensive but worth it.Especially useful features are that it defaults to the last used settings (time and grind), and portafilter insertion glides in and out.Suitable for those who drink fresh ground coffee on a daily basis.
Matthewthe perfect grinder for my Sage Bambino... Looks great... Works like a dream and although not cheap worth every penny
ShaunI'm an espresso kind of fella and I'm well impressed with this grinder. Easy to adjust the grind and you can go super fine if like. You preset the time it grinds, so it puts the exact amount in for your portafilter. When put your filter in position it switches on and if you push it again your grind starts so you don't even need to touch a button.
Robert BlackburnThis item was purchased after buying 4 previous grinders that all claimed to ‘do the job’.I have a La Pavoni Europiccolla coffee maker and this Sage machine is the perfect accompaniment to it!Thank you Sage!!
James GalesExcellent product. Wide range of grind sizes going down much finer than I need for freshly roasted beans in my espresso machine. Also much quieter than my last one. The electronic display and settings also very useful
Luke StablefordI made do without one for a while, but knocking out coffee pucks in your bed isn't the most hygienic thing to do (especially with guests) and I was always dropping coffee on my kitchen floor.I had a look at a few knock out boxes before opting for the Sage Mini Knock Box.The knock out drawers on the market seem expensive and unnecessarily large for my kitchen, whilst the cheap generic knock out boxes...well, they looked cheap. This was a happy medium. It's a portable little thing and it looks great in the kitchen.I've seen some people complain that it's too small. Your needs might be different, but in my opinion, this is more than sufficient for more households. Obviously, you'd be better with something bigger if you run a coffee shop.Fairly easy to clean too. Simple twist and turn remove the knock out bar and then empty it and wash it.Happy with the purchase.
Kevin MuldoonI used to have a blade grinder and this is a step up.I have set my does amount and grind to just how I like it and it has not needed any tweaking. You can pause the dose (to settle the grind) before finishing it.I use it for decaf beans to go alongside a Sage Oracle which always contains regular house beans in its grinder.I use it with a dose leveller and a tamper and it's working well alongside my espresso maker. The top burr is further adjustable (inside) with additional fineness and coarseness, if you think the machine needs adjusting. As it is, I grind at level 13 (lower being finer) and I get a fine grind for espresso (about 22g goes into the 58mm portafilter giving me 45mls out in about 27 seconds for a double shot). The design is well thought out - 2 portafilter holders for dosing straight into your espresso machine's portafilter, and a sealable container for ground coffee to use in a french press or stove top coffee maker. It powers on when you use it and powers down when you have finished. The footprint is quite small.I don't know what the quality is in terms of longevity. When I had a Sage Barista express, the grinder was the bit that went first and ended up seeing off that machine.
RainParadeWas originally more than I wanted to pay for a grinder but when I came across this machine on offer on Amazon and then looked it up decided it maybe a great buy. It is a great buy for the money I payed and a great buy at recommended retail price too, very pleased with this product.
janeGot this for Christmas and so far so good! Barely bothered with latte etc as the flavour improvement over pre-ground coffee is fantastic and that's best appreciated with espresso or americano. I've never had a coffee grinder before but it's easy to set up and customise to match how much coffee you need to grind and how coarse that is. Looks smart, time will tell how reliable it as and what cleaning entails.
seller81Had this for few months now and I have to say, it made my life easier and tastier. I was using a hand coffe grinder first which was not so bad but had poor consistency and needed lot of effort. I now use this electric grinder with my De'Longhi Dedica. I decided to use this particular coffe grinder because I know that has good quality/price and is perfect for eary/intermediate level. I use 14 grams of coffe (lavazza rossa) and grinding size 22. It will grind it in 13 seconds. While it grinds I shake the Porta filter so that the entire coffe will fit in.
DanielBeen used daily (sometimes more) for almost 2 years now. Never had any problems with it and don't see anything going wrong with it anytime soon. Sure, there are better grinders out there, but price-wise this deserves a 5 star rating.
Amazon CustomerAt last coffee with a proper crema and that tastes really fresh!! Having had a Gaggia Classic for several years I have toyed with the idea of getting a grinder but the cost has put me off with some burr grinders costing more than my Gaggia itself. Spotting this for only £150 I decided to take the plunge.Whilst a fairly expensive purchase, I am absolutely smitten. Simple to assemble. Simple to use and the very first cup of espresso was absolutely gorgeous.Having read and researched much about coffee; the bean types, roast, grind, water etc., I knew that freshly ground beans definitely produced a better cup of coffee. So perhaps it was no surprise my first cup of coffee resulting from the grind produced by this machine was so nice.Only issue is now is what to do with all the packets of pre-ground coffee I have on my shelves.
Rob WEasy to use, really constant and reliable grind. I would thoroughly recommend this if you're shopping for a grinder.I was worried about the price when I bought it, but it's worth every penny!
joe j.The perfect coffee needs a precise amount of freshly ground beans. But adjustments in grind size require different grind times to achieve a consistent dose. The smart grinder uses dosing iq technology to automatically adjust the dose whenever you change the grind. Choose between 'cups' For French press or filter, and 'shots' For espresso to get the right dose for your Coffee's needs. You can even Tweak for taste. The smart still has an LCD display, 450g removable hopper, and comes with two grinding cradles for dosing directly into 50-54mm or 58mm commercial espresso filters. In addition, there's an air-tight storage canister, suitable for plunger or filter coffee.
