loud as all heck but that is their nature. The delivery nozzle is coated in a rubbery plastic and builds up a lot of static this make the finer coffee grinds cling to the nozzle. There is always old grinds left in the mechanism and the dryer ones that have clung to the nozzle so this needs constant cleaning to avoid contamination of older grinds.
Mr WI use a professional style espresso machine and it needs a good quality consistent grind for decent results. Most domestic burr grinders don't really meet the standard but the professional grinders are very expensive indeed (this one's just expensive :)Also I want a grinder that will deliver the freshly ground coffee straight into the filter basket, when you only have one or two cups a day you don't want ground coffee sitting around going staleThis machine is perfect. It dispenses the coffee straight into the filter without any spillage, something that was a problem with my last grinder, and the quality of the grind is great, the coffee definitely tastes better than it used to although my previous grinder was an ok machine. And it's really easy to set up and adjust, you can take it apart to clean very easily. Just all round a very good product.
Chris RustWonderful grinder. Getting best ever tasting espresso coffee from it. Setting is at 5 and I get double espresso in around 25 seconds every time. Love the direct grind into portafilter as it saves grinding too much. I did have to fit a U.K. adapter
scottishladyI have been looking for a burr grinder for some time. This is a very well made piece of kitchen equipment. It is robust yet still looks good. Mechanically it works very well and is easy to clean. I am very pleased with this purchase.
Amazon customerGreat product. Nice to see that they obviously read peoples reviews and sent out an adaptor plug for the 2 pin to 3 pin. Unfortunatley it was the incorrect type sent (american 2pin) you will need a european adaptor but you can pick them up for about £2
andrewLooks good, solid build, simple to assemble and operate. Use it for ‘espresso’ in a stove top coffee maker. Setting at 15 produces excellent result.Previously used a blade grinder. Much more flavour with burr grinder which surprised me.Delivered from Austria in 4 days. Euro plug fitted but simple to replace with UK plug.CHEAP UK/EURO ADAPTORS not suitable as they do not have earth connection.

I’ve been really pleased with this purchase. Mine came with the UK adapter fitted to the EU plug. In terms of the grind. The initial grind was not fine enough for espresso, but you can change the ratio of the grind by removing the basket, unscrewing a couple of small screws on the burr, and twisting it towards the word “fine” and then re-screwing, (it will make sense when you look at it) Now, the coarsest grind is good for pour over, and at the finer end, around a 5 I can extract a double espresso at around 25 seconds. Grinder itself looks smart, and feels good quality.
j m joslinGiving the grinder just one star for the moment,I have only had it about 30 hours and have been at work most of those so not much chance to try it outNot happy that it came with euro plug so had to source an adapterIn some reviews people are getting an espresso grind On a high setting, but I started on 20 and went down to 5 which was not fine enough as coffe came through too fast and at 0 coffee would not come through, then on 2 it just about came through so I don’t have many options left.My machine is the sage duo temp pro and I am using fresh beans with a good roast date but am struggling to get good tasting shot, not bad with milk but awful black so don’t know if it’s the machine, grinder or me.Need to do more tests before giving a proper review....costing me a fortune in coffee this dialling in, now on my second grinder first one cheapWhich I hacked to give finer grind which wasn’t good enough.if anyone out there has any helpful advice would be very welcome.
plukeThis is coffee grinder meets all my requirements and should have been purchased years ago. It is of robust construction with a strong and reliable grinding mechanism and a pleasure to use. I cannot praise this product too highly.Jack Short
Dr Jack ShortWhat a nice bit of kit! Really well made burr grinder, quality-made and I can see this being a really great addition to my coffee bar in my house. It's just brilliant
Clickster5 stars says it all
mrbonsiAs I saw another reviewer had bought this grinder from Amazon.de I compared prices and the savings justified buying it from the German site. As I live in Ireland, pricing was even more transparent as we use the euro. Delivery was from Italy where I presume it is made for Graef. It is an excellent grinder and manages a variety of grinds we use in our household, from espresso to filter and French press. We also use a wide variety of beans/roasts and the grind has such a range that, so far, we have never gotten close to having to use the finest settings for espresso. It is solidly built and easy to use and clean. After 5 weeks of frequent use I feel I can recommend it without any reservation. (Check out YouTube for very detailed reviews)
Leslie ReedThis is the best coffee grinder I have tried. The grind extracts the full flavour from the beans giving a superb tasting coffee, what more do you need? I can’t praise it highly enough and would definitely recommend.
Chris19Easy to use. Provides individual doses freshly ground. Just what I was looking for.
Jaroslaw H.Great service from Presto. Wonderful machine. After some experiment, using Lavazza Caffe Espresso Coffee Beans with a Gaggia Classic espresso grind setting 12. Machine feels and sounds of German quality.
A. HatfieldI bought this from amazon.de as it was cheaper from them. £110 inc delivery. Anyway i used to have a 100 year old british spong manual grinder which i fed up having metallic taste even after countless tries of cleaning it. i made a 1 week of research read heaps of reviews and decided on graef cm800. so far so good. the taste of my coffee changed a lot. i dont have any more coffee dusts. it grinds so consistent. if i measure 16 gr of coffee beans and grind them it gives me 13gr of coffee. you need to tilt machine forward and give a little old tap and taa daaa you have 16gr of grinded coffee :) its noisy but not that much. as the other reviewers mentioned you need to place burr mech correctly otherwise machine doesnt grind well at all. i am happy with my purchase. and can recommend this
Mehmet SI bought this grinder mainly on the good reviews from other buyers and it hasn't disappointed. It came with a European plug which needed changing to a 3 pin plug. The manual was German only but with the help of Youtube videos, scanning the manual into FreeOCR, Google Translate and my limited German I was soon enjoying great coffee. My only problem was not initially realising that the milling head release button was on the rear of the grinder!
B. R. BeerI spent ages researching the coffee grinder I was going to buy. There's a crazy amount written about coffee grinders on web sites and coffee forums. Most tell you to spend £300 on a grinder (coffee snobs). So what made me decide on the Graef? There was some good things said about it on some European sites, but also I have a meat slicer made by Graef and I've never been so impressed with a piece of kitchen equipment before. Built like a tank and is just so well designed, perfect for the job it's made for. Also there was very little chance of me spending more that £200 on a grinder, so I went with a brand I already knew made quality stuff.Turns out I was right. The Graef is a lovely piece of kit. The biggest thing about a grinder is whether it can grind fine enough for an espresso machine and this most definitely can with room to spare. Easily fine enough and then some. The built quality is just great and that switch is really industrial feeling. The burrs are nicely cut and hardened. Out of interest, even though the seller is from Germany, the grinder had a British plug fitted.I think this will last for many years and I'm very happy with the job it does. Just go for it, you won't regret it.
WonkyJust bought myself one of these to go with my new Sage DuoTemp Pro espresso machine. Very nicely made, nice and solid. Reasonably quiet too. Certainly goes fine enough for espresso, even without going to the finest setting. It has a scale of 1 to 40 on the dial, with 1 being the finest. Around 10-15 seems to work well for me. The coarse end of the scale is about the same as most pre-ground coffee and OK for cafetière use. There is the ability to fine-tune the grind by adjusting the upper burr, but I haven't tried this yet, no real need to. Mine came with German instructions, and even after spending an hour on Google translate, I wasn't much the wiser. There is a knack to putting it together, and the instructions aren't really much help there, but a bit of trial and error should do the job. I was considering going for an Iberital MC2, but this looks so much better. All in all a very good product, and would definitely recommend.
