Disappointed

Took a lot of time to decide on a blender and thought this looked like a good option. Unfortunately, I was wrong. It appears powerful, however it is useless at blending even the basic items throughly.

Leaky Seal
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The blender is great, does a fantastic job. But, after 4 months of use several times a day, the seal at the base has started to leak. I have looked closely at the seal and cannot see any reason for the leak. The problem could be in the seal or the base of the jug.

Disappointing quality
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

We bought this because of the brand name, and the fact that it seemed a good size and good quality. We had it for just over a year, using it for milkshakes, blending soups and so on, when we found the seal at the bottom of the jug was leaking into the base, through the base unit and onto the kitchen worktop. Tefal, when we contacted them, wanted us to buy a new seal - but to be honest, after the amount of use the item had had, this just wasn't on. It's an expensive item and we expected much more from it than a year or so's use.

Handle with care
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The blender functioned fine for the first couple of months of use. However the jug is very fragile. I carelessly dropped it and the base of the jug shattered. It was empty when dropped, and I didn't drop it from a particularly high height.

Not safe

It all lookeasy to clean but it is not at all the lower part comes off and a plastic ring stays on the glass, this plastic ring is not designed to come off and traps food that then rots

Good at Blending, but has Problems
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is a good high powered blender, but I have had problems with mine. It doesn't look so good because I can't get the label to come off of the glass jug. And although it initially worked with the jug facing either way, now it only works facing one way, and I have to remember which, because if I get it wrong I have to empty everything out, and then turn around the base of the jug part, then put everything back in and blend it.The blending itself works well, and it's far better than the budget price blender I used to have. The glass jug is surprisingly hard to keep clean, despite that the bottom piece with the blades removes entirely - it almost always looks smudged and unhygienic.

Should be better, but at £50 it's cheap cheap.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I'd be careful ordering this one, I think there are better ones on the market; I tell you why. I compare this to an old four bladed one I had which the motor was just better and stronger and really made a good blend. This one on a thick fruit mix leaves the upper part stagnant. The blades just do not spin fast enough and they are too small. The main lid is also cumbersome to pull off too and it leaks on the bottom. I think there are better ones on the market and therefore you may need to spend that little more.

Poorly built item which won't last unless used for simple jobs
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I purchased this item just before Christmas 2013 to help make by soups nice and smooth. I used it a total of three times before it lost power and started to smoke and I returned the item. Now I think that the item is probably OK for blending smoothies and even crushing ice, however, when I used it to blend my first soup in struggled to cope with some sprigs of fresh parsley that I'd added to the blender with the soften soup mix (consisting of roasted butternut squash and boiled celeriac with stock). In fact what happened was the parsley just wrapped itself around the blade and the blade came to a grinding halt. After I discovered this weakness, for my second soup I roughly chopped fresh parsley which seemed to help but just left stringy pieces of stalk in the soup. OK so perhaps not the best thing for finally chopping herbs in a soup. For the third and final nail in the coffin I decided to make soup with roasted sweet potato and parsnips topped with fresh rosemary leaves and boiled potato and swede. I mixed the whole lot before adding to two 2/3s of jug and the blender had appeared to lost a lot of power and only seemed to be mixed the bottom half. I had to then use a hand blender to blend everything first, then had it back to the blender but still no joy. It officially was caput. So if your hoping to use this for making soups I'd look else where and consider spending a little more money. I have actually just invested a little more in a Magmix 3200 and from the research I've done they on the whole have the best reviews.
