Whilst I love this bread maker that has lots of features and makes perfect bread, the outer casing of mine is cracking. I have had to send it back for a refund while it is still under guarantee, but bread makers have become hard to source at the moment. I notice that the new Panasonic one has a stainless steel casing, so this maybe a known fault.
Julie S GrowcottAs an absolute newby to bread making - and absolutely rubbish at it - I wondered if these things really work. They do!I have never made a bad loaf, dead easy to weigh and load the ingredients, set the time for 6.30am and wake to the smell of gorgeous bread.Panasonic are the guys who started this whole business and a lot of people online swear by them. If I was buying again, I'm not sure I'd bother with the nut dispenser; I've only used it once, but, apart from that a great machine.I've even started making bread by hand now and am pretty good with that too!
Hywel ThomasGot my Panasonic bread maker yesterday read the instructions and put the ingredients in as instructions said then set the timer for 12.5hrs, woke up to a lovely smell of fresh bread, turned off machine took out bread pan and tipped out bread which looked really nicely baked evenly all over, had some with my evening meal and it was absolutely yummy so i highly recommended this product to anyone. My settings were:- menu 1> large > medium crust with a 12.5hr timer
TrevorThis machine provides warm bread first thing in the morning. I have used it to make sourdough loaves and they come out faultless every time. The timer allows me to delay the process by up to 9 hours for sourdough, so putting in the ingredients at 10am, the bread is ready by 7am.
RickyI've had this breadmaker for two and a half years and it has been one of the most consistently used items in my kitchen. I like nice bread and bought it because I no longer lived close to decent bakers and didn't fancy driving miles to pick up fresh bread. It is simply a brilliant machine, it has a range of different programmes so if you fancy experimenting that's easy to do. I've made spelt, white, wholemeal, rye, sourdough bread, lots of pizza dough and a variety of fruit loafs over the past couple of years. A rapid white loaf only takes 3 hour to bake, pizza dough 40 mins. You can make a sourdough starter in it too, in 24 hours, and while it is not completely authentic or perhaps considered the real deal, it is very tasty and amazing for lazy bakers such as myself.
AnneA replacement for a 15 year old Breadman. SO much quieter. I love it. Made quite a few from the recipes which are brilliant. Soft sandwich bread for mum is lovely using French flour (picture) Used the timer on this no problem. Italian with pesto, onions and garlic is fab.Tear and share (picture) is now a favourite..Rye also good even though I messed with the recipe. Pizza/focaccia good. The sour dough with starter made in the machine, is not traditional but still good. I prefer the dough finished the traditional way. And have just found on the additional recipe website you can use for pizza. Use good quality flour! I buy mine from a local mill.. it makez a massive difference.Lots to like about this machine. Highly recommend.
Sharron BI am so in love with my new bread-maker! I love the timer function - who doesn’t like to wake to the smell of fresh bread? It makes a good gluten free loaf, too, which is an important feature for me. Yes it’s denser and not as springy but not soggy as my oven ones seem to go. I’ve made bread, cake, pizza dough and cinnamon swirl dough (I use the Chelsea bun recipe and adapt). Unit is big but I just put it away after use.
Linda HorneReliable, easy to use, expensive but worth the investment over less expensive models. I have no idea how long the machine will last but for us, every time we use it, we get great results. Probably no saving to be made when compared to buying supermarket bread but it is so handy to bake as and when we want and wastage is a thing of the past.
Michael M. MurrayJust love this bread machine, had a Panasonic bread machine before and that lasted a good 20 years, that one gave up last week and got this one to replace. The price is fantastic and very different to the £400 I pain for my first one. Obviously prices have come down a great deal since then but this one for £99 does everything the last one did but quieter so I am thrilled with it! Highly recommend.
linIt’s good, makes bread... I think the instructions could be clearer. Took a while to figure it out and get started. No it’s all good.
JoIt is an amazingly good bread maker I am truly pleased with it and thoroughly recommend..
BarbaraBakes very quick and I will recommend to everyone who’s gluten free. Fresh bread under 2hrs. Amazing!
NikatheVegannow had few weeks make a loaf every other day,, sour dough ,,, brown,, great bread,,made malted fruit loaf that was so soft ,, you could not cut it but was so delicious ,, easy to use ,, just do as they say ,. no
ChristineGood range of recipes that work well, easy to use; just add ingredients using the spoon and measuring cup provided, choose the programme and let it do its thing.. Was a bit expensive but no real bad points
MarionEasy to use, took me a while to understand the booklet, but once you understand it’s easy - each recipe tells you the ingredients in which order, the size to select and the programme to select. I haven’t tried the delay yet, but I have made a white loaf, apricot and almond bread, walnut and maple syrup, French loaf and spiced fruit loaf - all perfect! Freezes well, makes perfect toast and great for sandwiches on the day. Couldn’t be happier!. The darkest browning option is not very dark at all, but this is a minor point.
RFollow the recipe and works perfect And those packet bread mixes from Morrisons you know cheese bread etc absolutely fantastic, and the jam making is do easy
PodzIs making all the money
JhonnyEasy to use makes perfect bread every time. Lovely to use the timer and wake up to the house smelling of cooking bread
RazorSimply the best. Easy to use. Incredible to wake up Saturday morning to the smell 9f fresh baked bread, and it only takes 5 minutes Friday night to get all set up.Clean up after making a loaf is negligible. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is more than enough. I spend more time cleaning up bread crumbs than I do the machine.I've been told that Panasonic bread makers are somehow just better than the others out there... And my experience with this one would tend to support this theory. Amazing bread. So simple.
HI found the supplied recipes were useful as starting positions.. but like many others, found that experimenting with ingredients and amounts can produce preferable results, as well as things that should not be repeated. I marked down because of the timer/programmability. If I could have created a truly custom "recipe" that let me programme the durations of individual stages etc I might have been able to create even nicer bread even more conveniently for myself. With regards specifically to the timer delay that allows the machine on MOST programmes to wait several hours before starting to mix the ingredients in the bake chamber, I think a clock would be an improvement. i.e. set the current time on a clock, set when you want the bread to be ready, let the machine do the maths to work out how long to wait before starting some bread making activity. With regard to some of the built in recipe programmes not allowing a delayed start (e.g. "Gluten Free"), its pretty irritating as if I use that bread programme I can't prep the machine the evening before and have fresh bread in the morning like I can with other pre-defined programmes. Differing ingredient lists and proportions from the ones Panasonic tested may have created acceptable results with longer delay times. The bake bucket and paddle have both stood up to repeated use and are easy to clean. Sometimes the paddle does get stuck in the loaf.. I wish Panasonic had made it so it was always in the same end position so I'd know where to go digging for it if I didn't want to hit it with the bread knife while slicing the loaf. I find I have to strike both sides of the bake bucket while it is turned over a wire frame to free a freshly baked loaf, sometimes I have to "clap" quite hard, but I don't find bits off the loaf stuck to the bucket when the rest falls free.
GWChimpPanasonic’s bread baking programs adjust each process according to the ambient temperature. Raisin nut dispenser dispenses chopped dried fruits, raisins, nuts and cereals etc. It ensures even distribution of added ingredients through the loaf. The Panasonic bread maker can not only bake, but using the jam and compote mode you are spoilt for choice when creating your homemade jams at home. The 100 Percent Gluten Free bread program allows you to bake gluten free loaves, using a wide range of gluten free bread mixes and flours.
