Would not buy again, and that means any Philips steam generator.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Very disappointing! Second Philips steam generator that has had problems and Philips return to manufacturer service either by post or store is useless!

Rubbish steam output after warranty period finished
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

A very lightweight iron which was initially ok to use. Steam generation was never great but adequate until the warranty period finished, then on cue output started to tail off till worse than useless. Tried to get assistance from Phillips but utterly hopeless - no response to phone calls or email and online problem solving is too limited. Finally gave up and it's in the bin.

Lost steam function
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This product does not offer the same performance as it’s predecessors. The optitemp is good all round, however does not get hot enough for big creases. The cleaning function is poor and it has become completely blocked up in 6 months to the point the steam has stopped coming out. This wasn’t a gradual decline, it was binary and stopped over a weekend. I have tried to descale and only have 60% performance back.

Terrible iron
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Awful iron, had it repaired once because it was not removing creases now having the same problem again. I’ve had to buy another iron because it looks like I haven’t ironed my clothes.

Very disappointing
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I returned the first one thinking it was faulty, the second one isn’t much better. The steam is very hard to control. Also I think the reason they guarantee it won’t burn anything and don’t need to adjust temperature, is because it doesn’t get very hot. I have to go over heavy things like jeans and trousers twice. If I use boost as suggested, it soaks items. Am very disappointed with this. Only have used the second one once and can’t be bothered to send it back, so will try it a few more times, but it may go back yet. Certainly wouldn’t recommend it. Sorry.

Disappointed.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I was very disappointed with this product, it shot the steam out when you took your finger off the button not when on it and it leaked chalky water in the first use. I returned it for a refund and would not buy this model again.Having had my last one, similar model, for 6 years I was expecting better. I have to say though Amazon Customer Services were brilliant in dealing with this issue.

Heats up quickly. The steam takes a long time to come through and isn't that powerful.

iron not as good as my old Phillips iron
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Advertised as having detachable a water tank,it doesn’t, sole plate drags on some fabrics. Cal clean red light comes on & water pours out immediately not allowing time to place iron on drip tray. Wish I had never bought this iron.

Good steam production. The iron doesn’t sit very well on the stand itself, it always feels like it’s about to slide off. You can’t stand the iron up on the ironing board, it has to be returned to the stand/tank each time and that is too heavy to sit on your ironing board. When you activate the steam, it makes a really noisy pumping sound. I wouldn’t buy it again, especially as it cost quite a lot.

Nothing about this product. It’s terrible. Would be just a well using a ordinary steam iron. Hardly any steam, even using the trigger to generate steam is useless. This iron has been a total waste of money

Not powerful enough
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Blobs water not the best Phillips iron I I have had. My last iron was more powerful with more steam so removed creases much easier. I would not recommend this model.

Disappointing for the price
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Disappointing for the price. Nice compact design but ineffective on big sheets and tough creases, not much better than a regular iron. Because the temperature adjusts/ suits all fabrics it didn't seem to be consistently hot enough for cotton and bed linen with creases

Poor design and inadequate function.I liked the look of the design but that's about itFirstly to fill the tank you need to pour from a jug into the tank. My previous steam generators tank was detachable so you can take to the tap, a much more convenient design. The iron has no base of it's own so it won't stand on the ironing board while you arrange or move your item and you have to put it back onto the actual plate which is fiddly because if it's not attached properly it will slide right off. the whole item is very light even when full of water so every time you Remove the iron from the plate, another fiddly procedure, it slides about on the ironing board, it feels like it could easily slip off.As for the actual function there is a steam button but it isn't responsive and only seems to generate steam when you lift it of the item you're ironing. 10 minutes of use and all my windows were streamed up.Definitely wouldn't recommend and mine is being returned after the first bakery of ironing
