I like the morphy Richard brand, always found them to be reliable. This is my second steam generator iron. The first one still works but needs filters and does produce limescale occasionally. Any who I decided to get a new one and this one does not disappoint. No filters needed and self cleans. Light weight iron, main unit is a bit heavy but to be expected and has brilliant suckers underneath to ensure no movement. Most money I have ever spent on an iron, but so far seems worth it. I personally would recommend.
lisaAfter my previous Morphy Richards steam generator iron started tripping the fuse I decided to upgrade to this model. Having used it today to do the weekly ironing I note a few things:-1. It irons the clothes well, running smoothly over the materials. The iron didn't feel flimsy to me, as some reviews have mentioned.2. The steam button is going to take a bit of getting used to, sometimes the steam stays on until the button is pressed again, other times it just gives a burst of steam, there is probably a knack to controlling it but haven't quite worked it out yet. Plenty of steam though!3. I don't like not being able to stand the iron up on it's end though. It has to be placed back on the generator station every time which although safer i.e. it can't fall over, is a bit annoying and lengthens the overall ironing time.4. The power cable storage and the Steam cable storage system is not fit for purpose, how it ever got passed the planning stage without it being scrapped is hard to believe. Previously the power cable just wrapped around the base of the station, simple and effective; now you have to 'stuff' it into a small hole in the side, where it just hangs out, a complete and utter design failure in my opinion. It is early days yet, as I said it does exactly what it is supposed to do and effectively, just a couple of design flaws.
Mr JimbijimbobThis iron does the job. Huge benefit is the massive water container which means you don't have to keep filling up whilst your ironing. Steam generated is great but it does seem to have a mind of its own on when that will happen..when it does you need to press a button to stop it steaming continuously. I've read the instructions thoroughly (such as they are) and am learning to live with this quirk. As long as this iron keeps going for a few years I'll be happy but I probably won't replace it with the same model when it dies.
D. J. LambertSo much easier to use than the old standard one, a big load of ironing is effortless and so light which is a bonus
ChopsyI returned this iron as I found the actual iron itself could fall off the base. There is nothing at the back to stop the iron from sliding down
KekIs there any more pointless menial household task than ironing? No is the answer, but for whatever reason we sometimes have to do it. This Morphy Richards beast makes the job much faster and easier thanks to the huge water tank and constant steam stream. The only issue I have is the size of the combined unit and base as we don't have anywhere practical to store it inside the house. If you have the room and you need to get through a lot of ironing regularly, then this is well worth picking up.
carlosnightmanI could never go back to an ordinary iron now.Iv tried most brands but always seem to go back to Morphy Richards.I brought this to replace earlier model that had started to leak. This did not disappoint, wonderful easy ironing, plenty of steam, large water capacity. If I had to give a bad point it would be the position iron goes back on stand ,my last one went on to a reasonably flat base, this one is very tilted and a few rimes I haven’t quite got the iron on properly, you have to concentrate but after time il get use to this, but prefer a flat base for safety,I’m not young and if your listening Morphy Richards it’s us oldies that still iron
Ms. Anne Elicia SewellThis is a disappointing iron with medium to low steam pressure.
SteveAfter a more expensive iron started to fail we where looking fora replacement, in terms of ouput this iron was exactly the same but was quite a bit cheaper. The iron works like a dream making an often boring task quick and easy, I wish we had got one years before
RALPHIEHeats up very quickly.Very good results.
SW67Good price Nice design Easy to use Powerful
TaraEasy to set up & use
JimbobBest ever apparently. Very lightweight, stacks of steam, no effort and the other half days she is extremely pleased with it.
Martin BradleyBrilliant replacement for my old swan iron generator. They are like chalk and cheese. Wish I had replaced it earlier
Jackie MeagerGreat iron. Very pleased
MISS N BARNESFantastic iron, over £100 cheaper than everywhere else.
Kindle CustomerOnly used once. Previously had a cordless iron which was heavier but gave a feeling of quality. This steam iron is lighter and feels very different. I probably just need to get used to it.
TimGreat iron, steam is good, not too heavy, basic functions but essentials included. Don’t need to buy new filters for it. 2 year guarantee fab.
JulieSteam is great However I don’t seem to be able to turn steam off once it starts. Last Morphy Richards iron I had steam was managed by the button you held in once let go the steam stopped but not this one.
SuzieParcel was obviously a returned item as box was broken and product looked damaged
