Reliable and made to last!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is my second Laurastar iron. The first lasted 18+ years without any problems. It was a quick decision for me to automatically buy aanother Laurastar. I like the fact the iron is attached to the board, taking up less storage of a separate board and iron. The product is very well made. It makes ironing so simple and quick, even linen!! You get a good blast of steam from the iron making the task effortless. I don’t thinks theirs a competitor who can match this product.

Easy to use, superb results
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I purchased my Laurastar system after seeing a friends in Switzerland and seeing how easy it was to use.
I love it, everything is quickly crease free and in very little time, I like the fact that the board fan is changeable from blow to suck as some fabrics are easier to iron when they are not flying off the ironing board!

Yes it's heavy, yes it's a little difficult to set up due to its weight, and yes I wish it held more water than it does as the delay in refilling and restoring temperature to use again is somewhat frustrating. But , it's fabulous and zooms through my ironing in no time at all.

From my point of view it is well worth the money and I recommend it highly !

Great for removing creases, but not without its issues

I like this ironing system. It gets rid of creases really well. However that doesn't mean I didn't have issues with it.The ironing system has a water tank and accompanying water bottle to fill it with. It is impossible to overfill thanks to the anti-overfill system. There is an on button to heat the water which then travels up the wire to the attached iron. Should the water be running low then the ironing board will beep at you to tell you it needs some water. Then there is a vacuum system built into the ironing board to help reduce creases.Getting this ironing board, at first, is a daunting experience. First is the 250-page manual. It has this many pages because the manual is in all languages under the sun it seems. Not very environmentally friendly if you ask me, especially as you will refer to only part of it perhaps only once, but at least they put a 3-prong plug on the appliance, something that doesn't always happen when a manual is multi-language.The ironing board is very heavy compared to your normal lightweight ones, what with the water tank and vacuum on it. If you have a place to keep it up all the time that would be useful. Otherwise setting it up each time could be a hassle. Wheels would have been useful, but these are only available on an even more advanced system than this one.The vacuum system blows or sucks the ironing board cover depending on whether you want to remove creases (blow) or put them in like for pleated skirts (suck). The vacuum is sufficiently quiet so that you can still watch TV whilst ironing and the blow/suck action is controlled easily from the iron so no bending down for a button or whatever. The ironing system takes 8-10 minutes to heat. This is more than a conventional iron so represents wasted time. The iron is steamy. I wear glasses and it steams them up if I am not careful. Interestingly the iron has only two settings. The thermostat can be set to a two dot or a three dot. However with the attachable soleplate you can get the iron to a one dot setting also. The soleplate is e

Expect some steamy action

The first time I folded up this board, I'm pretty sure I was close to losing several fingers. The weight of the attached steam unit means it swings closed easily, but watch where you place your fingers during this process. I should also mention the weight of this item. To put it plainly it's heavy and unwieldy to move around. If I had the space I'd leave it permanently upright. The very idea of packing it away and moving it whilst the steam generator is still full of water (as you don't have to empty it after each use) is unlikely to ever happen as this ironing system already offers a full work-out when the steam generator is empty.

The cable holder was completely useless. It didn't appear particularly stable when attached to the board, and whilst a good idea to keep the steam hose away from the clothing you are ironing on the board, it made wielding the iron more difficult. The iron is permanently attached to the aforementioned fairly chunky steam hose, but felt connected to a somewhat uncooperative tentacle when using it on the board.

The instruction manual is useful and easy to follow and I was set up quickly (disregarding the warm up time). The steam is very powerful (I'm a glasses wearer and this did prove inconvenient at times) but the results are impressive. I iron everything on the number 2 setting (only 2 settings so you can't go wrong) and apply the steam as and when to achieve a pristine finish; however I can't say the vacuum/blower button was impactful. I've ironed a variety of materials both on the board and using the vertical steam option and everything has a nice crisp sharpness not achieved so easily with my normal steam iron. I was initially disappointed with the amount of time the steam lasted though. During my first use I only ironed 6 items before I had to refill the steam generator, but this may have been a start-up glitch. I now average about 10-12 items before I run out of steam (both figuratively and literally).

This ironing system makes a tiresome chore f
