Reliable and made to last!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is my second Laurastar iron. The first lasted 18+ years without any problems. It was a quick decision for me to automatically buy aanother Laurastar. I like the fact the iron is attached to the board, taking up less storage of a separate board and iron. The product is very well made. It makes ironing so simple and quick, even linen!! You get a good blast of steam from the iron making the task effortless. I don’t thinks theirs a competitor who can match this product.

Easy to use, superb results
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I purchased my Laurastar system after seeing a friends in Switzerland and seeing how easy it was to use.
I love it, everything is quickly crease free and in very little time, I like the fact that the board fan is changeable from blow to suck as some fabrics are easier to iron when they are not flying off the ironing board!

Yes it's heavy, yes it's a little difficult to set up due to its weight, and yes I wish it held more water than it does as the delay in refilling and restoring temperature to use again is somewhat frustrating. But , it's fabulous and zooms through my ironing in no time at all.

From my point of view it is well worth the money and I recommend it highly !

Great for removing creases, but not without its issues
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I like this ironing system. It gets rid of creases really well. However that doesn't mean I didn't have issues with it.The ironing system has a water tank and accompanying water bottle to fill it with. It is impossible to overfill thanks to the anti-overfill system. There is an on button to heat the water which then travels up the wire to the attached iron. Should the water be running low then the ironing board will beep at you to tell you it needs some water. Then there is a vacuum system built into the ironing board to help reduce creases.Getting this ironing board, at first, is a daunting experience. First is the 250-page manual. It has this many pages because the manual is in all languages under the sun it seems. Not very environmentally friendly if you ask me, especially as you will refer to only part of it perhaps only once, but at least they put a 3-prong plug on the appliance, something that doesn't always happen when a manual is multi-language.The ironing board is very heavy compared to your normal lightweight ones, what with the water tank and vacuum on it. If you have a place to keep it up all the time that would be useful. Otherwise setting it up each time could be a hassle. Wheels would have been useful, but these are only available on an even more advanced system than this one.The vacuum system blows or sucks the ironing board cover depending on whether you want to remove creases (blow) or put them in like for pleated skirts (suck). The vacuum is sufficiently quiet so that you can still watch TV whilst ironing and the blow/suck action is controlled easily from the iron so no bending down for a button or whatever. The ironing system takes 8-10 minutes to heat. This is more than a conventional iron so represents wasted time. The iron is steamy. I wear glasses and it steams them up if I am not careful. Interestingly the iron has only two settings. The thermostat can be set to a two dot or a three dot. However with the attachable soleplate you can get the iron to a one dot setting also. The soleplate is e

Go-go-gadget ironing board!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Is this thing for real? Do they really make ironing boards with a suction/blower motor built into the board? Well it turns out that they do, and this “Laurastar Go” is my first ever dealings with such a device, so needless to say I was excited to see what could possibly make this thing worth the £695 price tag (at time of review).

I’m ignoring the slightly patronising subtitle of “Your First All-in-One Ironing System”, as it reminds me of a Tomy My First Train Set… And having watched the short promotional video with the horrendous Euro-dance soundtrack, I suspect the marketing team need to take a step back.

Size-wise, despite its functionality, it is actually fairly self-contained. I won’t say it’s featherweight because it isn’t. You wouldn’t really want to be lugging it around all day. At the end of the day, it is a decent-sized board with the iron attached, including an integrated steam generator and the motor for the suction/blower function, so it’s got a fair amount of stuff to build into the frame. In all honesty, you’re probably best making sure you have somewhere to store this that’s almost right next to where you deploy it, as it becomes too much of a faff to hulk it about.

I rather like the styling of the iron itself, as it is akin to old dry-irons. I like this approach as it makes the iron itself nicely balanced and well weighted. It allows you to be quite nimble with it. The top handle is flat and the rear cord doesn’t get too in the way of your wrist or forearm, like some other irons I have used in the past.

One curious thing about this iron, is that the power consumption at 1800W compared to fairly high-end irons, is actually quite low. Fortunately, it didn’t impact on its ability to turn in great ironing performance helped by the “active table”, but what I will say, is that it takes an age to heat up. In these days of impatience, people tend to think that in the flick of a switch, something will be ready for action. Not so with this Laurastar Go - which perhaps should be

High-tech ironing
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is a difficult thing to review. It is a very expensive iron (and board) with functions you will probably never have come across and is a bit 'ooooh, really, hmm, how does this work'.The idea of it is with the integral blower/vacuum ironing should be simpler and quicker and to some extent it is. It comes more or less ready to use. It is quite heavy too.Nothing, no amount of ironing in the past, prepares you for this machine. I've never needed a manual to look at while ironing but I did with this. You can even see videos on YouTube. It seems such an odd thing to use.The board has three settings for height and has an integral drawer for the storage of the iron. You need to let the iron cool for two hours before putting it in the drawer after use. This can be a nuisance if you are keen to get it folded and put away. (It does flatten for easy storage.)The iron has two settings and comes with a special sole plate for ironing wool and delicates. It won't sit upright on its heel as other irons do but they provide a rubber mat that it happily sits on, though it can move around a bit as you put the iron down and pick it up while ironing. After using this for a couple of weeks I would say on the plus side it is sturdily made. With the blower on your iron just glides over material, but make sure you set the garment for ironing straight on the board. However, I also find it can completely steam up my glasses occasionally. Don't get fingers too close when using the steam (makes sense) which can be easy to do. Or it is for me. Sometimes delicates slip onto the floor as the blower deflates if you don't have your hand on it. While it is warming up for use it sounds like a noisy kettle. But worse than all this it takes ten minutes to heat up before you can use it. This I find very frustrating but I suppose you get time to sort out the socks and fold up the towels and knickers. The worst thing would be if you went away and forgot. There is a safety cut-out though if it doesn't get used for a while. There is no

Expect some steamy action
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The first time I folded up this board, I'm pretty sure I was close to losing several fingers. The weight of the attached steam unit means it swings closed easily, but watch where you place your fingers during this process. I should also mention the weight of this item. To put it plainly it's heavy and unwieldy to move around. If I had the space I'd leave it permanently upright. The very idea of packing it away and moving it whilst the steam generator is still full of water (as you don't have to empty it after each use) is unlikely to ever happen as this ironing system already offers a full work-out when the steam generator is empty.

The cable holder was completely useless. It didn't appear particularly stable when attached to the board, and whilst a good idea to keep the steam hose away from the clothing you are ironing on the board, it made wielding the iron more difficult. The iron is permanently attached to the aforementioned fairly chunky steam hose, but felt connected to a somewhat uncooperative tentacle when using it on the board.

The instruction manual is useful and easy to follow and I was set up quickly (disregarding the warm up time). The steam is very powerful (I'm a glasses wearer and this did prove inconvenient at times) but the results are impressive. I iron everything on the number 2 setting (only 2 settings so you can't go wrong) and apply the steam as and when to achieve a pristine finish; however I can't say the vacuum/blower button was impactful. I've ironed a variety of materials both on the board and using the vertical steam option and everything has a nice crisp sharpness not achieved so easily with my normal steam iron. I was initially disappointed with the amount of time the steam lasted though. During my first use I only ironed 6 items before I had to refill the steam generator, but this may have been a start-up glitch. I now average about 10-12 items before I run out of steam (both figuratively and literally).

This ironing system makes a tiresome chore f
