It's a small iron lots of steam and good for the price.

well my fault you get what you pay for. my old iron was big and quite heavy but used to glide of laundry this one I had to press down really hard to remove creases I should have spent more money for decent iron.

The iron leaked, did not reach a hot enough temperature and was basically unusable. I would not recommend.

I’ve worked in the electrical retail business most of my working life, first as a small family business then moving over to one of the large out of town storesWhen as small retailer we only ever sold branded irons, If I remember we had 7 models, as a large retailer it had 68 different irons, anything from under £6 up to a few hundred pounds, It was always hard to sell the very expensive ones, but over the years I’ve understood better why some are cheap and some are expensive, I would now say, push your budget, the dearer ones are well worth having.About the Igenix IG3111, this iron is okay, Its a light weight model, a combination of steam and temperature settings. I’m not loving this, I think for the price its okay but there are others on the market that are similar priced and better in my opinion.Good bits, the iron is perfectly weighted, no aching arm, cord is positioned so that it doesn’t get in the way.This a nice Iron not a great iron, If you are going off to uni or something similar then this could be perfect, every day use not sure.

This quite powerful little iron has the great benefit of being light compared to some of the others around. It is quite simple and has the traditional wheel on the body to set the temperature. Additionally, it will generate steam, though only at higher temperatures. It reaches working temperature quite quickly. Despite doing as is suggested in the instructions and running the iron over a cloth a couple of times before beginning to use it for the first time, both I and my wife could detect a slight drag over the fabric of the clothing we were ironing. We each did a few shirts and still noticed a drag. Perhaps this is because the iron is so lightweight and doesnt bear down on the fabric as much as its heavier cousins. We thought it would be very suitable for a young person going off to uni, or someone in a small flat. If you have mountains of stuff to do each week, I would choose something a little heavier. The plus points are it gets hot quite quickly and generates steam as quickly. It comes with a little jug which you can use to fill the reservoir. The cover of our reservoir came off, on first use, but the hinge is a push fit, and we had no difficulty putting it back in place. The iron comes with a warning to use only distilled water. Hmmm, I wonder how many of us will stick to that. Not many I suspect. More expensive irons let you use tap water and have either tablets to de-calcify or a de-calcifying mode to get rid of the scale, which if you are in a hard water area will build up very quickly if you use the steamer.
