Cord is too short
The Phillip Azur had it spot on, gr8 iron lasted ages until it gave up the ghost.
This iron is lightweight and easy to use I worked on a professional steam press in a dry cleaners and this iron gives just as good results its steam boost button is powerful great for stubborn creases, and it was a bargain price.
Amazon CustomerGood Iron to use, light to use and good value for money.
SteveBeautiful colour and does it's job, heats up quickly
Olin Mariam SajiThe iron is a bit heavier than my old Morphy Richards iron but the steam that it produces is far better and so the clothes are easier to iron. I haven't used all of the features on the iron yet but so far so good. The cord length is also very good.
PreciousWe had a Philips iron for approximately 10 years that finally gave up the ghost about 6 months ago. We purchased a cheaper replacement initially but it made the ironing harder work for several reasons so came back to Philips and haven't been disappointed. Use it for a lot of heavy material uniforms and it makes short work, the cord is a great length too.
HannahbMy original purchase had to be returned as it was faulty and the water leeked everywhere, since receiving a new iron I am more than pleased with this product, I use it for every day use, the stream function is very powerful, water tank is more than large enough one full tank will easily last half hour, glides with ease, very happy with it
Sarah WhitehouseSolid Iron, I've been using it well over a year now, still works good as new. and easy to iron with.
Jason Shaun Van BelkumI like it. Not heavy, use to use.
Cansel Can TuncelBrilliant! I love the box for storing it and it make ironing so easy!
LoyteI am very pleased with this iron. The steam works brilliantly and removes every crease. Best iron I’ve ever had.
S. GibbsMy wife seems to like this iron, although she hates the job of ironing! If it gets the job done more quickly than her previous one, she'll be even more happy.
davechantIrons well. Doesn’t need filling with water too often. A bit on the heavy side and like most irons the ca le could be a bit longer. The box it comes in can be used as a storage box. Overall a decent iron.
JennylhThis iron is very comfortable to use and it's not overly complex for what it is. The only downside is that the calc-clean - unless I'm doing something wrong, which is a possibility - is very slow to use.Another good feature of this product is that it is stored in a heat-resistant box. For me, this is really useful as I normally store the iron with my linens & a hot iron, just unplugged, could be a potential fire hazard. With this iron you can place it hot back in it's box, no need to wait for it to cool down. All in, this iron is ergonomic with a few good features but the calcium clean seems great in principle but slow in practice.
ScriptwriterFantastic iron. Light, multi function, easy glide and a good price. I usually turn to Phillips for my electricals as they never let me down. This iron will be a good all round staple for years to come. Highly recommended.
Clair RainbowThe iron heated up pretty quickly and was very smooth and efficient gliding over the material being ironed.Being able to put the iron away immediately without having to wait for it to cool was also a handy feature. The bottom of the box is protected so that the iron can be put in without waiting for it to cool first. The one thing I was not keen on was how easy it was to turn the setting dial and change the temp of the iron, I found my fingers catching it as I picked up and put down the iron and this would cause the dial to turn. It does at least make an audible click letting you know it has moved
Amazon CustomerIn my opinion, Philips makes the best steam irons; I love ironing and after decades of trying others, I much prefer this brand. This particular model has an extra long cord – ideal for when the electrical socket is near the skirting board – and together with a large water filling hole, the side opening latch is good for anyone with less than steady hands, because you can position a water jug against it whilst pouring. For those who live in hard water areas, the calc-clean system is really useful - it prevents the iron from furring up and spurting up dirty dregs of water. The iron is very comfortable to use, and the design of the sole plate makes ironing between buttons very easy. It also glides smoothly over fabrics, and should you need extra heat for a really creased garment, there is a button that will deliver a very powerful shot of steam to smooth out stubborn of creases. This iron is ideal for use with most fabrics, but for pure cotton with a high thread count, I prefer one with a little more power. Also, I don’t particularly like the shot of steam button to be positioned at the top of the handle. I find it much more comfortable and convenient for it to be set underneath the handle, but this is personal preference. Buyers may wish to consider the Philips GC4881/20 Azur Pro that has this facility, and also has a higher wattage.
Emile Zola readerThis iron has all the facilities of a good steam iron. A button on the top for a blast of water or steam when ironing fabric that is particularly creased or dry, a dial to adjust the heat setting and a lidded entry port to fill the iron with water. It also has a CALC Clean switch that allows you to stop limescale from building up . The iron is easy to hold (not too heavy or too light) and has a non stick type of surface that slides easily over all types of fabric. As is the case with this type of iron, it only has a small tank for water so you have to fill the water chamber up fairly regularly whilst ironing. This can be a little tedious if you are ironing on the hottest setting and using the steam button regularly. I found the steam button on the top of the handle a little akward to hold/press whilst ironing, but I did get used to this after a while. The iron reaches a good temperature for difficult fabrics such as linen and jeans and gives a good finish. This iron comes with a special cardboard storage box which I found particularly helpful. You can place the hot iron straight into the box, which makes it much quicker and neater to clear away and to store.
A. KinsonWhile I own a steam generator iron I wanted something for those one off items that was quick and easy to use. The PowerLife comes with what is classed as a quick store box but it is literally just a purple cardboard box which I don’t think should be a selling point but because it’s apparently heat resistant means you can store the iron immediately after use – handy if you like the place tidy. It’s quite weighty even before putting water in it. I like that it has a decent length of cord at 2.5m which has a ball connection so there is plenty of flexibility and movement while in use. Filling it is easy from the tap as it has a decently sized opening and it’s so easy to switch between settings. I would have preferred a slightly slimmer handle and I find my finger can get caught at the top of the wheel because it’s so close. I’d also say the wheel is the cheapest looking part to it (apart from the cardboard insert to hide a screw just under the filling door). The sole plate glides very easily across clothing and while it doesn’t quite live up to the performance of a steam generator, it’s still quite quick but there is still the odd item I have trouble getting all the creases out of. It feels decent quality and like it’s built to last so I would happily recommend it.
AyamiWith its anti-scratch SteamGlide soleplate, high consistent steam output and integrated calc-clean, this high quality iron gives you performance that lasts.
