It came without a sole plate protector, it was scratched and already is not steaming as the old model used to.when it came i wondered if it was not brand newBecause of the situation around the world today due to coronavirus I haven't done anything, i.e. sending it back and trying to communicate with seller or manufacturer is beyond helpit was an expensive item I do not expect to be sold an item that is not fit for purpose
P. M. CornwellMost expensive iron I've ever bought and loved it at first. However I've had better much cheaper irons. Am so disappointed, not even lasted me a year. Water runs down the handle every time I use it so have to keep drying my hand! Really annoying
Kindle CustomerWhen using steam function button, excessive water leaked out of the sole plate covering garment in water marks. I am returning the iron for a refund and buying a more expensive model. It’s true when they say that you get what you pay for !
ANDREA D GRIFFITHSI went for a Bosch expecting high quality which was not my experience. From the very first time I used it water continually ran down the front and soaked my hand and also left drip spots on all the clothes and ruined the ironing board cover.
Mr. FuhsingThe iron so far seems fine, the only down point is the length of the cord
VitorThis Bosch TDA5071GB Steam Iron was bought to replace a Philips which had always been a poor performer since new. The TDA5071GB is an excellent iron and my wife could not fault its steam action, the temperature control and ability to turn it up in temperature when needed, something the Philips with auto sense could never do. The ultimate test was with the granddaughters Hamma beads which fuse together when heat from an iron is applied. The Philips fails miserably but the Bosch works perfectly. The lead length is also an excellent length. So why did we return? The handle design is terrible. There is a two part moulding that meets along the handle for its entire length on both sides. the two moulding parts are made up of two types of plastic. As you pick up the iron you can hear it creak as the two parts mate/slide against each other. On ours the split line wasn't perfect and allowed the soft tissue part of your fingers on the palm side actually get trapped within the gap that then closed down with the iron weight as it was lifted. To make matters worse the edge felt sharp, the translucent plastic being quite hard. After a session of ironing it left the fingers quite sore.Whilst on the look out for a replacement in a retail store we looked at other Bosch irons and they all suffered from a similar problem to some extent, all creaking and some having the moulding gap. As a result we ended up with a cheaper Philips with a good old temperature dial.
