Russell Hobbs is a good brand, so when I saw the iron going for such a good price I had to. It arrived quickly it was protected well, its lighter than expected but is still a normal sized iron. It os a very nice colour and heats up really quickly - I hope it lasts a long time!

It is fast to hear up and is easy to use
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I can't complain about this iron at all because it does everything I need it to perfectly. It is fast to hear up and is easy to use. It slides over my clothes easily and never burns them. I can't even explain how happy this makes me as I always have issues with irons burning my clothes. The fact that the iron is purple is a pleasant bonus. This is a very reasonable price and I would highly recommend it!

Super iron
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

A good reasonably priced little iron. It heats up quickly and glides through the ironing pile with ease.I should I imagine most people leave the ironing to mount up and I am no exception so had a good amount to test out this iron. Before adding any water I tried it out as a dry iron first on some of its lower temps and found it to perform well. The sole plate is lovely and slips over the ironing really well.I then filled up the water reservoir and tried the steam function. It took a while but once the iron had heated up a bit more the steam flowed nicely and it made short work of my quilt covers. The dial for the thermostat is on the front of the iron not on the top under the handle like most. I found it a bit stiff at first to turn to the steam function and was a bit worried I might break it, once it was turned a few times it became easier but still slightly stiff. Once on steam function it moved round the other temps easily but felt stiff again turning it off the steam function.Using the shot of steam and the spray functions was relatively easy. The shot of steam button is under the handle on top where most thermostat dials are and it was easy to press making short work of the stubborn creases in one of my tea towels that had been put in the tum left drier.Vertical steam worked well too. I tried it on my curtains and was satisfied with the results although I don't tend to use this function in my normal ironing.Lastly the sole plate that I mentioned earlier glides effortlessly over the ironing and I was really pleased with it.I like this iron very much and for a while, at least, look forward to doing the ironing.

Very good for the price
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Definitely impressed with this iron on the whole. Heats up in a jiffy, has a powerful jet of steam, and the price is good. Whilst not exactly short, the cord could be a bit longer. Not too fiddly to top up the water and construction is solid.

Solid iron, high-powered steam.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

It's nice to have a well-made, solid iron at this price point that heats up super-quickly and can pack a steamy punch. That's the only really special part about the iron: its steam. At first glance it looks a bit plasticky and feels lightweight but it's an iron - if you drop it, you'll probably break it, so don't drop it eh? It heats up quickly, which is perfect for when you're ironing under the kosh (ie with two kids looking for attention), but you'd expect that with 2400W. The steam is the real hero here. Hot jets on demand. Perfect for my shirts.

Decent mid range iron
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I seem to get though irons as if they're going out of fashion so am always interested in new ones! This one is mid range, what I would usually spend on an iron and for that you get a good quality iron with few bells and whistles. On the upside it has a decent water tank for a good shot of steam, it's not too heavy and glides nicely, all things that are essential for painless ironing. It's a decent iron and not too expensive. You can't really go wrong.

Good quality , practical , not the guy to ask about style ..
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Not bad at all, decent sized water tank that heats up pretty quickly so that you can get a decent pile done without fiddling around with water fillingCan't say that the iron moves any smoother over clothes than others I've used, but with a clean plate its a an improvement over the one I'm using now. I found the cord a decent length avoiding the need for using an extension cable. The vertical steam function is quite good but I doubt I'll use it much. Even when full of water it seems quite light and thats a plus as well

SMALL, LIGHT AND EASY TO USE AT A REASONABLE PRICE.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This iron comes from a good quality maker at a very reasonable price. It is small, light and very easy to use. However, because of its colour it can be difficult to see the water line and the cord to the iron is of average length. As a back iron this will suit most peoples purpose and for the price is good value.

might iron a few more shirts...
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Ironing shirts can be therapeutic... I say can be. Most of the time however it's a pain in the proverbial. The iron itself doesn't always help of course - bad design, leaks, the damn cord - they all conspire to make the process so infuriating you don't even bother. So now, I rarely do - save for weddings, funerals and interviews. This particular iron, although a little on the basic (read into this cheap) side, has a couple of points that put it above some very expensive irons that have smoothed the creases of my shirts.First, the heat setting is on the front - this means you don't accidentally change the heat level with your hand whilst ironing and it's very easy to see and change quickly.Second, the tip of the glide-plate turns into a point. This is great for shirts, for getting in between buttons and into those annoying little areas. On the down side - the fill cup is pitifully small, it still has that damn cord that never goes where you want it too!All in all, not a bad iron for the price.

A good, basic steam iron.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The 23050 is a decent but basic steam iron, ideally suited to single people who don't have a great deal of ironing to do. The base plate is visibly shorter than 'usual' steam irons, as is the water tank, which is filled by pulling on a tab on the front of the iron. There are two buttons on the top handle which are used to dispense a burst of steam, or a spray of water on to the surface of the garment that is being ironed.I've been using this iron for two weeks and it handles pretty well; a man size shirt takes around five minutes to iron, the same with a pair of my Wrangler jeans. So, all in all, a decent and competent but basic iron, but if you have a large family and/or iron lots, then you'll need something with a larger base plate, and that bit more 'oomph....'....

A nice steam iron with a nice long lead
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The first thing I noticed when lifting this out of the box was the nice long lead, which gives you plenty of room to work with. The second thing I noticed was that it is very light, and that makes it easy to handle when the water tank is filled. It looks good, and that design is practical as well as cosmetic, with the buttons placed in sensible places. It seems robust and the overall quality – of the iron and the work it does – seems very good so far. The ceramic plate glides along nicely. You may be interested to note that it has a self-cleaning feature, which it recommends you use at least monthly (or more often in hard water areas), and you can use it vertically on curtains and hanging clothes.

Good quality iron
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Good quality iron, pretty straightforward to use as there is very little to it. Settings are minimum, max, adjust for steam iron or dry iron. Water is filled up by flipping out the water filter at the front there is also a little plastic cup for filling the iron with water. Heats up quickly and does a decent job on shirts and trousers. The chord is a decent enough length to stretch up to your ironing board so all in all an excellent iron.

Great value basic steam iron
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is a decent iron, nothing too complicated, does what it's supposed to do at a very good price. Took on most challenges successfully, though my hard to iron shirts took a little more time and starch than I would like but jeans, usually the most tricky items posed no problems.I liked the long cord, the ability to fill from the tap rather than using boiled water (like previous irons) and the large reservoir, which does save time. In a crowded market, at this price it seems hard to beat
