Very inconsistent results.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Terrible scale. Every time you weigh something it gives a different result. If you weigh a few times in a row, it doesn't go back to zero but it goes to 1g or -2g... Very inconsistent results. It has a button battery which is not great either. Returned immediately. The other reviews are probably not real.

Salter has been my go-to brand for scales for years, both kitchen and bathroom, This is a nice upgrade on my last Salter kitchen scale - not so much in function but in design. It's much easier to clean and is tiny and sleek.

If you're a baker - you might want to go for something a little bigger with bowl attachments. If you're trying to watch what you eat and want to start measuring your intake - this is what you need.

Salter 1052 BKDR Arc Pro Electronic Kitchen Scale, BlackIn the box.The scales, instructions and batteries (fitted).Set up.The battery was already inserted so it’s ready to go. It comes with a 15 year guarantee.Using.It is very easy to use and can weigh in grams and kilograms or pounds and ounces. You can change the weigh units by pressing the ‘unit’ button. We make our own bread in a bread machine and this scale is perfect for weighing out the ingredients. The scale has auto off so the batteries down run down when it is not in use. The maximum weight is 5 kg - 11 pounds (I think). It is easy to wipe clean and looks very modern and funky in its matt black finish. The LCD readout is clear and easy to see form any angle.Because they weigh up to 11 pounds they can also be very useful to weigh parcels to get posting estimates – ideal for the EBayer !Overall.A nice great looking kitchen scales that are accurate and easy to use. They also look great and are accurate. No reason not to recommend them.

Really useful device
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Really useful device for anyone trying to lose weight and are counting calories. I love the "zero weight" function as I can just use any dish I have to put on the scales then null that weight so I only get the food I'm putting on it. Very easy to use, looks great - a fantastic product!

Standard set of electronic scales
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I am really struggling to see what this set of scales offers that it anything different to many others in the Salter range.Yes, the styling is slightly different but the functionality is the same as almost all electronic scales I have ever used.If you like the look of this one and the price works for you, you won't be disappointed - but it isn't anything special.

Adds the weight of ingredients.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

These are small and lightweight. They measure just 8 cm². Maybe they are a shade plasticky, but everything these days. Not really much to look at, if style is your thing. They are just functional. There were just two buttons the on-off switch and change the units They go from fluid ounces to ounces to millilitres at the press of a button. You have the facility to add different ingredients in the same bowl if you press the zero button between each ingredient. It turns up automatically after a minute or three minutes if it's the same weight reading. These would be good for a galley kitchen, caravan or student kitchen. They are also very lightweight if you need to take them travelling.

Not Salter's finest
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I’d regard Salter as the most trusted name in scales, but there are a few quibbles with these scales that mean I don’t quite think it’s a top-marks product. Before the quibbles though the positives- it’s very lightweight, with a clear, easy-to-read display and comparing it to my other scales. But here are the quibbles. It feels a little flimsy, as though it wouldn’t survive enough a single accidental drop off a kitchen surface. The buttons are on the top and raised up, which seems like a mistake to me- the scales I already had, also Salter, have the buttons on the side, which makes the top completely flat so you can place larger items on there. With the buttons on the top, if you place a larger object on top, you’re liable to accidentally turn the scales off. Also, it doesn’t seem to zero properly. When you turn it on it shows 0g, naturally, but once you put an object on there and take it off, sometimes it shows 1g when there’s nothing on it. I don’t imagine a difference of a single gram is going to make much difference in most everyday kitchen situations, but it’s enough to create a little bit of doubt and uncertainty about the reading accuracy. I don’t have that problem with my other Salter scales.I still like Salter scales in principle, but this isn’t their finest offering. I’d definitely recommend the "Salter 1150 BKDR Glass Electronic Platform Scale - Black" instead (which, at the time of writing, is actually slightly cheaper!)

Super-slim button battery scales, clear and accurate readings, tare function. Stylish and compact.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I really like this little scale, which is amazingly compact. It takes less room than a scale with under half the capacity. Part of the reason is because it's powered by a CR2302 button battery, rather than AA or AAA batteries . This means that it is super slim.

It's big enough to hold a large mixing bowl on its platform, and the tare function ensures that ingredients can be weighed individually as they are added to the photo. No more separate, messy weighing of flour, sugar, etc. There is even a function that allows you to weigh liquids as they are added, although force of habit meant I used my usual measuring jug.

A small kitchen doesn't always mean that a small amount of food has to be prepared in it, and this set of scales is ideal for big baking days, for weighing of large amounts of fruit and sugar for jam making, for example.

Unlike conventional scales you have the choice of a range of units to measure your ingredients, and the digital display screen is clear and unambiguous. Although the lettering alongside the numerals (indicating the measuring units ) is small it is perfectly readable.
The instructions for using the scale are hardly needed, it is so easy to operate. Although I did spend a little time pressing the on off button embossed into the top of the scale before I realised that the zero button along side was actually the on off button.
Absolutely ideal for the smaller kitchen or for anywhere where space is at a premium

Good basic scales - a little slow.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

These are very small and light and easy to store. The display is large and easy to read, though looks a little cheap. The only complaint I have is that when weighing lots of flour for example it's not the fastest at registering the changes. Not a major problem as it does get there in the end but makes it feel a bit less slick. Easy to clean.

Lightweight in more than one sense?
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This really is a small set of scales so if you intend measuring wide bottomed or soft containers (for example a bag of rice) then the container will probably overhang the scales making accurate measurement difficult. The scales themselves are very 'plasticky' to the touch and very lightweight which might also make them somewhat unstable on a work surface. There is a stainless steel version (at higher cost) which may be better in terms of stability and longer term robustness in use. These scales seem to measure accurately enough and are simple to use. But I have my doubts about their durability.A relatively cheap backup to more expensive and larger scales, perhaps?
