If you want random results - that's the scale you need. Switches on with difficulties, for no apparent reason goes into a 'random' weight mode. Too late now to return, so I will be just binning this one and getting something decent.

Salter Digital Kitchen Scales in black these are a very good set of scales which would grace any kitchen and look smart,the weigh plate is nice and large with a clear display at the base,either side of the display you have the unit button and the zero button this means that you can weigh an ingredient zero and add another,the scales weigh in grams and pounds and ounces so you can switch from either you can also measure liquids,with its sleek design they will not take up masses of space in your cupboards either,a very nice set of scales would recommend.

These are perfect in every way!They look great; they are sleek and slimline. They don't take up much room, unlike my other scales with a bowl. They are also well made and appear to be robust, though time will tell. They hold a large bowl which is very handy for baking. They even measure liquid which is awesome! They seem very accurate as they don't change their mind like my previous scales have done. I have also measured liquid against a measuring jug and the scales are spot on.These really are a perfect set of scales at a great price.

There is not much I can say about these scales other than they accurately weigh things (or at least give a consistent weight compared with my old scales)They are easy to wipe clean and the touch buttons mean there are no nooks and crannies for dirt to get in. They are lightweight and tend not to slip once placed somewhere.There are a few different units that can be measured in such as mg, oz, lb's.

This is a sleek and very useful scales for my kitchen. It is very easy to wipe clean having a smooth stealth like finish. The add and weigh features are excellent and it makes baking so easy. Perfect for my very large kenwood mixer bowl which it handles no problem.

Large enough to use with a variety of bowls but small enough it doesn't take up too much space - I think these scales are great! You can chose what type of weighing you want to do (grams etc) with the push of a button, then it is as simple as putting your container on the scales pressing zero and filling the container with what you want weighed. Can't get more simple than that!

The old set of Salter scales I had were more expensive than these, with individual buttons on the front. They looked good, but after a few splashes of sticky goo the buttons got gummed up, the electronics shorted and they stopped working! No such problem with the Salter Contour because the entire top is made from a single piece of plastic, making them effectively water proof, from to top at least. It also means cleaning is easy, with one wipe of a cloth. The buttons are really just touch sensitive areas, indicated by markings. It's a clever system that seems to work well. Just touch gently to activate the controls.The footprint is a little larger than the average set of scales but this can be a help, especially if you bake cakes and like to weigh ingredients in a mixing bowl. As with all electronic scales you can zero the reading at any time which makes it easier if you want to avoid mental arithmetic whilst adding a succession of ingredients to a complex recipe. Most folks use metric these days but you can also switch to imperial if you wish. There's also a feature that tells you how much liquid you're adding, with the display reading in milliliters. However, any scale will do this if you realise that one milliliter of water weighs one gram, so the two units are effectively interchangeable.These scales seem well made, and I approve of the fact that they use common AAA batteries unlike many scales that use CR2032 button cells which are not only more expensive and harder to come by but have less capacity. By contrast if these scales run out at a vital moment all you need to do is raid a nearby remote control or alarm clock. Batteries are provided but look suspiciously cheap to me - I recommend replacing them with a brand you trust not to leak.Overall though, highly recommended.

Love these, they are vey stylish, very accurate, and easy to use. Large scale for any bowl or pan to rest on and easy to wipe clean. Excellent value for money, excellent product. Weigh the container then reset to zero, add ingredients to the container - and it's possible to use imperial or metric. I'm unlikely to need to weigh 5kgs but who knows! A great selection of available colours too.

A simple but well designed scales.They were slightly larger than expected (around 20cm by 25cm), but this means you can get a good sized bowl on it and since it takes up to 5kg then you should have no problem with hitting the limit on the ingredients you are making.It is well designed and easy to clean with no joints to get dirt stuck in on the top. Seems to be very accurate, and the 2 x AAA batteries that came with it is fine (although will probably replace with a rechargeable once this one runs out).The screen is nice and clear

This is my first venture into the world of digital scales, having used other outdated and less accurate devices in the past.First impressions are that it is sleek, attractive with a large enough surface area. Importantly, it is also accurate.In practice, you can use varying sizes of mixing bowls from small to large-and the big bonus is the auto zero which iseasily distinguishable. The measurement includes both Imperial and metric, so it caters for all aptitudes!There are two batteries, (included-hooray!) and there is an upper limit of 5kg-which should be sufficient for mostrequirements. I have used the product for about ten days, and it has met all that I have needed it for includingbaking.It is certainly a triumph of modern style and technology and would look good in any kitchen, although it is slim enough tobe easily stored.With a 15 year guarantee -that is a confident statement by Salter and I have no hesitation in recommending the product.
