Philips EasySpeed Advanced Cordless Steam Iron – Blue - GC3672/26I've used lots of different types of steam irons, but this is my first time using a cordless one. The main difference is, of course, there is no cord (or steam hose, with a tank iron) getting in the way when ironing, and you can reach into awkward spots that a corded iron couldn't reach. The second difference is how light the iron is because (like a tank iron) the power is in the docking station not in the iron itself. That means you can iron for longer without tiring your hands or arms.As for performance, the iron has a decent 2400W and a 190g Steam Boost. The ceramic sole plate glides smoothly. Overall the ironing experience (!) is a good one.You do have to be disciplined in putting the iron back in the holder regularly so it can recharge - otherwise it will run out of steam. And you might need an extension lead unless you have a socket that's close to where you want to iron (the lead is only 1.6M long). At the time of writing this review, no price is stated, so I am unable to comment on value for money or position in the market.
AmazammaArrived very quickly, and well packaged. Very pleased with the iron, I don't like being 'tied' to the cord, so this is ideal. Its lightweight, and glides over all the creases making them flat. The light on the body helps you 'recharge' which takes seconds. I also like the lock from body to iron.
Gillian DoveDoes what it says on the tin.....
jay deeBought this after a fair bit of umming and ahhing. When my trusty iron of 14 years finally died I was planning to order a steam generator but the reviews weren't that great and apparently you need to buy cartridges which I wasn't keen on as an added cost. Instead I decided to treat myself to a cordless as due to the location of our ironing board (we're lucky enough to have space for an ironing room upstairs but it is shared with the DVD collection and the plug is behind a shelf) the cord quite often gets stuck round the end of the board. When it arrived I set it up and was impressed with the size and weight of the base - no danger of it falling off the board. Charged iron (about 30 seconds) and set to work on a handkerchief (if you read the negative reviews you'll see why I chose that particular item). 5 seconds and one nicely ironed handkerchief later, I moved onto husband's work shirts. My natural ironing style is to put the iron down every few seconds for repositioning or garment (and occasional sips of a nice freshly brewed coffee) so the charging was in no way an inconvenience. In fact, the base never really got the chance to flash orange/red. It's well designed too as I didn't feel I had to be careful placing the iron back down on the base, it just fit naturally.Five work shirts later I feel qualified to declare the cordless model a success. No creases, no burns, no stress, no tangled cord. The only reason I have given it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I'm used to having an easy glide base to my iron and this one wasn't so didn't seem quite so smooth. But I can live with that.Very nice iron. Fingers crossed it manages to last at least half as long as my last one!
C. WhiteEasy to use, ready in 30 seconds
HopeThis is a brilliant little iron. I iron for a living and have purchased many. I tend to get whatever is on offer. This one has made an impression in me and I am my 3rd month in from using it. Easy to pour water, you can see how much goes in and it has a good steamer too. Easy to control dial for temperature and water spurt for difficult creases. Glides effortlessly over bedding and great for linen shirts. I would recommend this iron and when this one dies i will be buying the exact same one.
MellieBought my iron from Droitwich Argos with ease. Very pleased with it as it’s lightweight and very efficient. Highly recommended.
SABIron functions well and the steam works. However when you fill the iron with water it leaks out unexpectedly when you are moving the iron to do the pressing. I've have made sure the iron is not overfilled with water, but still get the same results. Other then this little niggle, pleased with iron.
Tp1234Great design and colour. Light. I like the dial rather than button. I can choose in between temperatures. The auto stand by is a saviour. I have teenagers. Definitely recommend.
MeshmeshThis is my 3rd cordless iron & it does what it says, but this is down to common sense on my part & experimenting. The instructions are totally useless whether they are written or diagrams. I deliberately went for a quality item, there are plenty of cheaper options, I would have expected Philips to have instructions sorted by now. I had to scroll through so many of their model numbers to register my purchase as the invoice & box number did not match. They make a lot of irons ! So Philips it's not enough to make a good product, people want to know how to get the best from a gadget. I just hope it lasts.
B A NJust type of iron I wanted.
tietie3So far so good. Light, easy to use and good length cable.
AnnedevExcellent Iron for the price again Phillips produce a winner only draw back is the 2.5 meter cable
BanjobobI was looking for a lightweight steam iron and this one performs well without being too heavy. However, the steam control on the front of the iron is rather flimsy and the controls are marked in a white smallish typeface, which doesn't stand out well against the blue plastic body. It's not easy to see the temperature setting whilst ironing and the temperature control is easy to knock. It's difficult to see the water level in the reservoir. For all that, it's reasonable value for money.
Eeyore159Nice weight, heats up fast and steam is good power
LornaNice easy iron to use .
Wp11My 2nd Philips iron and as expected its great, very light weight compared to my old one. The only gripe i have is that the instructions for use is poor, but most importantly the flex is too short, I did expect it to be the same length as my old Philips iron which was better than all my previous irons, so that did disappoint and makes it tricky fitting into a small area to be able to use it to the max, that's why only 4 stars for performance, otherwise would deserve 5 stars across the board
Jules2Nice iron but quite heavy. Ironing is easy and quick
YessiTaking this on a cruise and it worked great when I tested it beforehand.

AndyPhilips Easy Speed Advanced cordless steam iron combines powerful steam with the freedom of cordless ironing. Its durable, non-stick and scratch resistant ceramic soleplate glides over clothes with ease. The smart base unit, with coloured-light indicator, recharges your iron in seconds and lets you know when is ready for use. For safe and tidy storage, the iron attaches securely to the base with the carry-lock system and the wrapped cord is held in place with a clip.
