It has just arrived today and to say I paid full price for this item the control buttons are upside down on the control panel looks totally stupid I will be calling manufacturer and ask why a reject product can be sold from an amazon Web site
David BallantineShould this burn out like this at the back after less than 8 months of use ??
EmilyLasted just 2 years with average useDisappointing
sandra harrisIt is practical and functional. Ok for price. Takes about 10 boils to get rid of the taste of plastic in your hot drink.
PysterI've had my kettle 10 days now and I am still having to empty it of water that has already been boiled. There continues to be a nasty, chemical taste unless I boil with fresh water every time.
KarianneThe manufacturer must coat the inside of this kettle with some kind of preservative because it gives the water a horrible taste. I must have boiled the thing at least a dozen times and it still tasted foul. Took it back in the end and bought a cookworks one and had no problem with it.
NigelbAll plastic disgusting taste we had this kettle for a weeI it’s spoilt the taste of food i.e. rice spaghetti. A whole week Of tainted coffee and tea got to a point and took it back and spent more money on something else. So the moral of the story is you get what you pay for.
FudgeLooks lovely but we had to stop drinking hot drinks after a week of trying as the water tasted of plastic despite several boils a day. Had to return and exchange for a cheaper one that' looks the same and was cheaper
mummy1Beware - it is almost impossible to get rid of the chemical 'TCP' taste that this kettle gives to the water, caused by the plastics used reacting with chlorine in the water. The usual bicarbonate of soda trick failed to shift the poor water quality so returned it for refund.
PJI had to return this as after 11 days of use "still" when you made a cup of tea or coffee there was a horrible plastic / chemical taste. This was surprising as the defunct kettle that it replaced was the exact same model that we had used for years! I have now bought a different make one. I have noticed a few other comments on here saying the same thing.
BarryVery noisy, takes long time to boil and awful taste when water boiled despite following instructions and numerous boils and rinses. Really disappointed. Took it back to exchange for different make and model - much better
Geoffits very noisy. sounds like a fire work going off at times. very loud crackles. It is quick though, compared to our old kettle. after a couple of boils there is no residual taste detectable. Its also very light!
djblezWe bought this kettle and after doing what the instructions said about boiling and discarding the water for the first two or three boils it tasted and smelt of tcp even after six to eight boils . We took it back from were purchased and got a replacement . ( the same make ) but unfortunately this kettle was no different so again took it back and replaced with a different make . At last a nice cup of coffee .
Him02Kettle looks fab and boils quick and not much noise. Sadly though the plastic inlay leaves a horrendous taste. Even after two weeks taste is still there.
RoyThe kettle is very good for what it is and the price I paid. Didn’t realise at the time that it wasn’t a fast boil kettle. Till a good week+ for that plastic taste to go from the water. Wish I’d had spent more money and bought a better kettle.
MrWReview after 1year: worked perfectly fine for an year, with no issues. Now its started making rattling sound when I use it. Microwave expected to last pver 4-5 years but unfortunately this is not the case. I would like to speak to Amazon about this but dont buy this if you looking for a durable product.
SalarQuite big, and very cheap looking. Stopped working after only a week of using it. Changed for a better more expensive kettle.
VixterThe kettle looks to plastic and it doesn’t tell you this in the site or on the box
AngelLooks like a nice red metallic in the picture, looks nothing like it in the flesh. Very plastic and dull in colour
craigI returned the kettle as i didn't realise that the spout was plastic
