You will have to shine a flashlight in your oven, Its like the blackhole of Calcutter in there!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

A good flatbed microwave but as another user has noted, the internal LED lighting has now packed up, it started flickering, then went out completely. The operational bleeps often stop working but i found unplugging the oven for a minute and then plugging in again restores them. However, the internal lighting seems gone for good!!!!

Great compact microwave, easy to clean.

Our old one had a spinning plate. Opted for flatbed and wouldn’t buy anything else. Easy to clean. Nice compact size. Fits big plates and bowls in there. Very easy to operate. Wife’s happy too. Would definitely recommend!

I'm impressed
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Sadly I eat ready meals quite a lot so I can accurately compare the performance of this microwave with one of comparable power that has a rotating table. This one has proven so good that it has knocked at least 20% off the cooking times without detrimental affect to the consistency of heating the food. In fact.... the consistency has improved. It still tends to heat food at the edges of the container more than the middle but all microwaves seem to do that. Taking the reasonable price into consideration I'm very pleased with my buy and confident I made the right decision. ....... and it really is nice not to have that fiddly rotating plate. It is much easier to clean and I never had to fiddle about with the plate holder that got out of place all too often. Well done Russell Hobbs.

Superb

The flatbed is lovely to use and seems to heat evenly enough. It is so easy to clean and can put any plate bowl or cups in.The reheat function is excellent to be honest I didn’t think it was any good but it really does heat a container of one meal food perfectly. In fact any size because you simply adjust the weight of food.It also looks lovely as the mirror finish gives high end quality.I love it.

Very disappointed with this microwave for the price i paid for it. Wish I stuck with the turn plate one. It takes about 6 minutes to properly reheat a meal on high.

A decent capacity for its size
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Disappointed that the chrome backing to the control panel reflected light and made control names difficult to read. Similarly the mark on the rotating control knob was far too fine to easily see in less that ideal lighting conditions.

Product Description

The Russell Hobbs RHFM2001 microwave has a sleek and stylish contemporary design, boasting an attractive mirror door finish. As well as an appealing look, this appliance also includes impressive functionality, with 700 watts of microwave power providing quick and convenient cooking in your home. The RHFM2001 from Russell Hobbs has Flatbed technology, this removes the need for a turntable to offer a microwave with more useable space – square plates and casserole dishes, that would not fit in a conventional turntable microwave, to be reheated or defrosted. The flatbed surface is easier to clean than a conventional microwave, so food debris and moisture can be easily wiped away. The diamond cavity structure provides improved microwave distribution by enhancing the reflection of the microwaves inside the cavity. This helps to cook your food more effectively, saving time and energy. Pre-programmed auto cook menus, such as pizza (reheat), fish, and popcorn, allow you to cook all your favourite foods at the push of a button. What’s more, there’s automatic defrost settings meaning all you have to do is input the weight of the food, and the microwave selects the ideal defrost time, saving you time and effort. Moreover, 5 microwave power levels enable tailoring of your cooking experience. Additional features include a handy digital clock and count-down timer, and for added peace of mind, the RHFM2001 comes with a child safety lock option. Once the child lock is on, it locks the button control so the microwave cannot be activated.

Avoiding Mishaps

To avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following:

Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate)

- These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all.

High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups)

- These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven.

Foods containing alcohol

- Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite.

Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes)

- Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape
