I got it for the looks.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

It's nice, metallic red, clock display, microwaves fast. The door is a different shade of red, it's not so obvious but if OCD maybe you might not like it.

Russell Hobbs Microwave Manual oven.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

The microwave is a Replacement of my one old which was Black but I am very pleased with the White one as the numerals are much easier to read and distinctive for an elderly person. It is so easy for one person to use and fits on counter top easily with space around and over the top as required. I haven't tried it yet but hopefully it is as good or better than my old one.

Too small!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Too small, only just fits a regular sized plate so it’s worth getting a 20L or larger microwave. Mine is less than a year old and the inside has already faded tremendously. Looks like water stains which can’t be cleaned.

Excellent microwave, looks nice and to say it's 800 w cooks a lot quicker than my previous 800 w, my only gripe is it hasn't got a handle to open and shut it but I knew that before I brought it, so overall I would recommend

Thermonuclear-ly powerful
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

One evening I had a few too many beers. I decided to whack some popcorn in my new microwave for 2 minutes, this would have been an ideal timing in any other microwave. However my this microwave has the heating power of the sun, NASA can stop trying to figure out nuclear fusion and just use my microwave instead. In roughly 45 seconds of microwaving, my popcorn had spontaneously combusted. At first, inebriated me thought that the light had come on to signal my popcorn was ready. It was only when the flames started licking out of the door opening I realised my peril.Long story short, I managed to extinguish the flames before they became a serious issue and have a new found respect for microwaving and the dangers it can present. This is a fantastic microwave, even after the fire the damage was minimal, the whole thing didn't set alight, it was easy to clean and it is still functioning to this day.My advice would be to be very cautious when first using this microwave, and take at least 30 seconds off of any cooking/microwaving times. (and buy a fire blanket/extinguisher safety and all that)Other than that, thoroughly, thoroughly recommend!

not perfect
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

the knob/dial for the timer is useless in a real working kitchen - it is chrome and smooth and more or less impossible to turn if your hands are not perfectly dry and clean - you always need a cloth or something to use to turn it.I tried to mount it on wall brackets but the feet of the micro are not in a square pattern so had to tape it underneath to the brackets as it is not secure - not satisfactory!Seems to work OK and neat looking, but only had it few weeks so time will tell if good quality.

The main advantage of this m oven is that it would not make any sound after finishing heating. That’s all I needed from the m ovenWe don’t want somebody to know when we appear in a kitchen at 2am for a quick bite ;)

Opening too small, actual size noted here.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Bought this as I believed it would receive my large dinner plates, it does not, though my normal sized dinner plates do fit well enough. To be fair the measurements I was going off were in reviews as none were given in the product description but still giving three stars only as the design could easily have accommodated a larger plate, the left hand door pillar is 3.5 cm, almost twice as wide as the door itself, limiting the aperture from that which it could be. If the door opening was the same size as the maximum internal dimensions it would be good as the large plate sits on the turntable just fine but needs to be tilted to 20 degrees to get through the opening which of course is unfeasible. The actual aperture dimensions should have been provided by the manufacturer/seller. Kept it only because we needed one immediately and the smaller dinner plates still fit. Oh, and the extraction is not great, gets a bit steamy, needing to leave the door open a bit after some uses. The actual size of the opening is precisely 27.5 cm wide by 17.4 cm tall.

Good kettle
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

Have had two of this particular model kettle in black before, the last one being a couple of years ago. Needed a new kettle so decided to go back to this model again. While it is good, it is nowhere near as fast at boiling, as the previous models I have had in the past. Would not necessarily buy this model again in future.

Picture misleading.
Reviewed on Argos.co.uk

I had this kettle in red before however, the picture shows this in a nice matallic red which would have matched my Russell Hobbs matallic red mug tree and knife holder however, the kettle turned out to be the cheap plain plastic red colour and not matallic at all. I basically brought the same kettle!! Misleading picture. Needs changing.

Ingredients:

2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp cocoa powder

1 medium egg

3 tbsp caster sugar

2 tbsp self-raising flour

4 tbsp mini marshmallows

1 tbsp raisins

2 tbsp. broken rich tea biscuits

Method:

1. Add the butter to a large microwavable mug of at least 350ml. Microwave for 10-20 seconds to melt.

2. Add the cocoa powder and stir to combine. Next add the egg and sugar, beating with a fork.

3. Add the flour and beat again until smooth.

4. Stir in most of the marshmallows, raisins and biscuits and sit the remaining on top.

5. Cook on full power for 1 minute 40 seconds. Check that the mixture is cooked. If not, add time and check at 30 second intervals until it is completely cooked through.

Fuss-Free Poached Egg

Ingredients:

1 medium egg

Pinch of salt

Recently boiled water

Method:

1. Using water from a recently boiled kettle, half fill a microwavable mug.

2. Add a pinch of salt and carefully crack the egg into the water.

Jacket Potato

1 tbsp olive oil

Sea salt

Method:

1. Thoroughly wash and dry the potato.

2. Using a fork pierce the potato skin in 4 or 5 places.

3. Rub the oil and sea salt into the potato. This helps to crisp up the skin for an oven-style jacket potato.

4. Place on a microwavable plate and cook on full power for 4 minutes.

5. Turn the potato and cook for a further 3-4 minutes, checking the progress at 1 minute intervals.*

6. Serve with your favourite filling.

2 salmon fillets

300g baby potatoes

250g asparagus

1 tsp butter

2 slices lemon

1 tbsp. chopped dill

Salt and pepper

Method:

1. Place the potatoes in a microwavable container with the butter. Season and cover with cling film. Cook on full power for 4-5 minutes or until cooked. Keep covered.

2. Meanwhile, place the salmon in a microwavable container with the lemon and dill. Season and cover with cling film. As soon as the potatoes are cooked, cook the salmon on full power for 3 minutes. If necessary, extend the cooking time by up to 2 minutes, checking at regular intervals until the salmon is cooked through.

3. Finally, wash and trim the asparagus, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes, then serve with the salmon and potatoes.

Hints and Tips

About your Russell Hobbs microwave

Microwave ovens do not generate any heat themselves but instead cause water molecules in food to vibrate. This vibration produces heat that cooks the food. This is why your food will come out of the microwave piping hot, when your utensils inside the microwave stay much cooler.

Microwaves cannot go through metal, so the inside of the appliance is lined with metal. The door is lined with a fine metal mesh which stops microwaves getting through.

Cleaning:

Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool or other abrasives. Warm soapy water and a sponge should get rid of all moisture and food spillages.

How to get the best cooking results

Reheat

With five microwave power levels to choose from, you can ensure all your food is cooked or re-heated to the optimum temperature.

Auto-Defrost

This microwave has automatic defrost settings, all you have to do is input the weight of the food and the microwave selects the ideal defrost time.

Auto Cook Menus

The RHM2064 also features pre-programmed auto cook menus such as pizza, fish and popcorn, allowing you to cook all your favourite food at the push of a button.

Avoiding Mishaps

To avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following:

Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate)

- These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all.

High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups)

- These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven.

Foods containing alcohol

- Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite.

Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes)

- Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape.
