I have great faith in the ebac dehumidifier range, as we have one already which is superb in quality, performance and quiet. Therefore I purchased this smaller version for my bathroom. It looks lovely in white and is easy to use, it does the job has a good smart mode function. Just disappointed in the noise level, you are aware when it is on as it a high pitched sound. A real shame for a good quality product.
reach4thestarsMy main reason for buying an Ebac dehumidifier is that it is made in the UK and provides jobs for British workers. However, as with many British products it is let down by poor quality control. A German or Japanese product would never leave the factory unless it was in perfect condition. I was unsure whether or not my unit was completely new. It had several scuffs and scratches. There were a number of dirty finger marks which I was able to remove quite easily. The unit is poorly finished at the back with jagged plastic protruding and there are what looks like brown limescale deposits although I cannot be certain what they are. The display has several scratches to the plastic. This could have been prevented by having it covered by a protective layer which could then be removed by the end user. Most manufacturers do this.
Update 18/01/20
I have now been using the dehumidifier for a week and it has started making a horrible rattling sound. I will see if this stops over the next couple of days. If not I will return it.

EdwardWe have had a previous model which continues to give great service. This new model is extremely noisy and is not as efficient. We asked the supplier if they could provide a less noisy model, and were informed no.!
David RichardsUnfortunately, i bought three of this product with the aim to use them in my home in Nigeria. I got them to my home in Nigeria and carefully followed the instructions in the manual. I bought one 3000 series and two Ebac 2250e, the 3000 series worked and was effective even though i found out that it alert that it is full when it is about 66% full and i found that very strange. On the other hand the two Ebac 2250e just will not work, i have tried everything in the startup manual but it just won't work. Putting it on it shows all the startup light and switch immediately to the red light as if the water container is full. Both of them are not working and they are in Nigeria so I can not even return them.On close examination at the buttons, it feels inferior to the 3000 series and I am hoping i can get help on making it function because both of the dehumidifier cost more than 300 UK pounds
PathwealthI had already one ebac dehumidifier so I decided to purchase another. It was worsed decision I could make. After a month dehumidifier started to make tractor like noise while working! After two ot stopped working completely and when I took the filter off-it was frozen! I cannot understand how since it was working in tje bathroom.Check pictures!
Anna B. PerkowskaFirst item failed to extract any water at all. Replacement worked during a hour long trial but failed to work on the second attempt. I have no idea if these are effective but both of mine failed to work.
Amazon CustomerDehumidifiers, basically they are all very similar. Ebac seem the best of the bunch however their build quality and quality control are nothing great. We have owned three over the years.Of the three, two arrived not working and had to be sent back for replacement. All last about three years with continuous use and either end up leaking or just stop working. When working they do a good job and condensation does reduce dramatically. This model, 2250e is designed for 2/3 bedroom flat or house and yes it does the job. The boost function is good for drying laundry in the winter months. Noise, all dehumidifiers are noisy. If its downstairs in a small house you will hear it and if you are in a flat you will definitely hear it. They do need to be left on all the time to work efficiently, and the more condensation you have the harder they work so light sleepers be aware! I still feel they are overpriced for what they are. The packaging is not great for a product of this weight and the contents is susceptible to damage in transit. Why do I still buy Ebac? We have had others for both home and office and Ebac despite their faults seem to be the best of the bunch.
Da MessinaWhile it does a good job of dehumidifying the house, the fan often makes a really loud and annoying noise when it catches on the housing, the noise even when the fan is not catching is a bit intrusive as it pulses, and the float on the water reservoir needs careful watching to avoid the reservoir overfilling and flooding the floor. We knew all of this when we bought it as we had previously bought the same model but we had hoped these issued had been ironed out over recent years. Unfortunately they still persist. We'll not be buying another Ebac dehumidifier when the time comes, that's for sure, but we will now be buying an anti-vibration mat to go under the unit in the hope that will quieten it down a bit.
Ted MFirst unit arrived and was faulty, also leaked water from container where the two half's of the plastic have been stuck together to make it, appears to be quite cheaply made hence the leak at the joint. received replacement and is working fine at the moment and collecting a full jug every 2-3 days. Had an Ebac over 10 years ago and lasted well over 5 yrs, but not sure if they are still made to the same quality as they use to be. Hope this one lasts or it will be going back as well for a refund, and the filters do add up so must add this to its running costs but not to bad as it will only be used in the colder months.
