I got the iron today and obviously went to check it out. So I filled the water tank which doesn't have a cover, but I knew and it doesn't bother me. The second I plugged it in a terrible smell came out of it, I'm not really sure if that's normal, but it seems to be made of cheap materials. The only thing that really annoyed me was the "water drip function" - it doesn't work. Water was dropping out constantly. I will give it another go tomorrow and if it's the same I will replace it or get my money back.
DaniI bought to replace an older model of the same iron.. unfortunately the material is very cheap on this one and it had an extremely bad / toxic smell coming from the iron when in use.
sonnyIron box do not have a plug to close the water compartment and hence if tilted water flows outside . used Bosch irons before which were much better than this one. Disappointed with this iron due to its bad and unsafe design.
jjmNot a great iron, just didnt seem to be hor enough
kcarIt works quite well but it is too light and falls over easily
MSC-SCPReliable, does the job but the idiot who designed it with an open water reservoir needs certifying. Grrr.....
DaWaDisappointed with this iron took absolutely ages to iron out the creases. I bought it because of the make as all other Bosch appliances I have bought in the past have been very good. I decided to send it back and have bought an iron from Asda.
mrs.m.r.j. bairstowits ok
Amazon CustomerHad it for ten days and used it for about five hours. It no longer works. Will be seeking full refund.
AjayThis iron is simple to use. You fill the tank with tap water, set the temperature and steam regulator dials according to the type of fabric you are ironing and plug it in. There are no alarms or irritating bleeps. It really is that simple. The iron has two features that are worth a mention. The weight of the iron - it is lightweight and the length of the electric cable, which is generous. Both of these features make the iron easy to handle and hold. There is a button that provides an extra burst of steam or spray of water if the fabric is particularly dry or you are having difficulty with stubborn creases. The iron does not get as hot as my previous iron so I found that I had to use the maximum temperature setting to get the finish that I wanted. As a result of this and the limited space in the water tank I had to top up the water tank several times. At one point a small amount of water leaked out of the water tank inlet (which is not covered) onto my laundry. Either I was a bit too vigorous in my effort to achieve a perfect finish or there is a possible design issue.Overall the Bosch Sensixx B1 is an easy to use, basic steam iron with a couple of good and a couple of not so good features. The iron is probably best suited to people who only need to iron a few items at one time.
A. KinsonThis is very light to use, easy to handle and irons very adequately. The cable length is more than enough and the anti-calc seems to work well. I cannot see any outstanding feature and that makes me wonder if the price is justified but, on the basis that Bosch products last, this iron could well be a good investment. What I will do is come back again when it breaks! So far, I suspect that may be some time away!
WilzThis is a good value iron and if you are looking for a budget iron you could do a lot worse than this. It's very light and easy to use and has a good long cord. However the lack of a lid over the water compartment is a real nuisance and has predictable results - unless you barely fill it, water sloshes everywhere. Also, because it's so light you need to press down pretty hard to get a good finish on your ironing.
ClarettaI liked the look of the iron with its modern turquoise colour and it was extremely light. Unfortunately when in use it was unstable standing up, the cable was inflexible which didn’t help. Steam was emitted inconsistently. It heated quickly and didn’t drip but tended to stick whilst ironing. Disappointing result, as even after steaming on max it left creases.
Alison TowersThe Bosch TDA2623GB iron has continuous, shot and vertical steam so it can cope with anything from crease removal to freshing hanging items such as curtains and jackets. The PalladiumGlissee soleplate is specially coated for ease of use. The AntiCalc system is a built in resin filler in the water tank which automatically reduces water hardness and prevents the build up of limescale. The drip stop is a protection system that avoids accidental drips of water on your clothes whilst ironing.
