On the morning of an important second stage job interview, I set about ironing a freshly laundered white shirt. Imagine my annoyance when the iron left blue/grey marks which would need to be washed again. Luckily, I used a different shirt but not ideal. It must be the ceramic sole plate which is a grey/ blue colour? Will be returning and getting a stainless steel sole plate. Steel has been used for decades, doesn't mark or flake and is durable. And how smooth does an iron actually have to be?
MrANnoyedReasonable price fab design and easy to use
NaraAppalling purchase from the start. Water leaks, doesn't really get hot enough, randomly cuts out. Finally broke after 3 weeks.
DannWhen I took the package home,I was so disappointed.I opened it and the steam iron had been used before. It still had water in the reservoir and the wire was just rolled around it.I removed it from the box.It felt light and looked cheap.I have been using Philips steam irons for years but this is not up to standards.Do not buy!
BirilloNon stick sol plate not great I am liking ceramic better
chriwa-388The iron worked for about a week then started to leak so could not use the steam which was the point of getting the iron in the first place.would not buy again l would try another make.
TrishThis iron looks beautiful, but it is underwhelming in performance compared with the one (a near relative of this one), which I have recently had to discard.. It just doesn't seem to get rid of the creases as quickly. Simples. I chose it because I was looking for a lighter iron and everything else seemed much heavier; it's certainly lighter, but I'm not sure this was worth the sacrifice.
MatildaHowever very disappointing on the steam. No matter how little water I put it still remained in the iron, leaving my clothes looking creased. Not recommended at all. I intend to return it shortly and request a refund.
SihertaThis is a nice little iron although I wear suits and shirts daily I prefer to press my clothes also children wear shirts daily I'm looking into a steam generator for my big family this is a nice iron highly reccomend [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
PhillipjacNot very good value for money.
grumpyI'm on my second model within a week as I'm not sure if the fact that the temperature light comes on every 15-25 seconds whilst ironing on steam is a fault or a feature. Philips online support seem to think its a fault which is why I requested an exchange from my retailer. Its a nice iron to use, good weight and design, clear water chamber etc but I'm not convinced it is getting and staying hot enough to be effective.
MelDI used proper water for ironing but made limescale marks on my garment on first use. Now using old pressing iron of the same brand.
EpikaizThis iron bought for domestic use looked the part but its performance was way below par and to me not fit for purpose as a steam iron due to poor steam performance . Item was changed without problem by Argos for another make with a similar claimed performance and does the job fine . Good service from Argos thankfully.
trevGood price for middle of range steam iron. I found it way to use but didn’t glide across fabric as well as other Philips irons I have bought in the past. Not an awful iron but not the best either. If you don’t want to pay a lot I think it’s a good iron to buy but wish I had spent a bit more for a better iron.
LoulouJust like any other iron I have purchased over the past few years - and I've had to purchase a few - it is adequate but no more. The iron is not efficient enough to get out the stubborn creases even at the hottest temperatures. I particularly dislike the closeness of the two 'steam' and 'water' button jets because if you have stubby fingers like me it is difficult to press one of these buttons at a time. You end up getting a jet of water when you want steam and visa versa (or both).
JohnanglerLeaks a lot of water
AlexNot as good as expected. Prefer a slightly larger iron, with more weight to press clothes with. Made a mistake buying this iron.
AliceI had to return this iron after two days as when I tried using it the water was leaking out the bottom and along the cord.
