Goodish for 4.5 years...
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I'm a very light user (i.e use for 1 person, not a family of 4) and bought a reasonably priced iron, expecting long life and good results, but not paying the most premium price. When in use the iron has been pretty consistent and given fairly good results. it glides well, is a reasonable weight and easy to operate. It hasn't fallen over too easily when stood upright, was comfortable to use.Overall it has performed OK, just not great. My main disappointment was the rubberised grip under the handle started to degrade and peal away within the last 6-12 months and now after 4.5 years has stopped working. For me that isn't a long enough lifespan considering the price, and the low amount of use it has had. I would have expected twice the lifespan. So whilst it worked it was reasonable, but I won't be buying the same model or brand to replace it. Philips you've lost my custom.

Happy ironing
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I had this iron quite a while now and I am very happy with it. Plenty of steam, heats up quickly and has a safety cut of that switches the iron off if you don't move it for more than 4 to 5 minutes. This puts the iron on stand by and it switches on very quickly and warms up almost instantly.

The Ferrari of irons! Has probably halved my iron time!
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

I know its odd to love an iron and for someone who hates ironing - its a big statement! BUT I used to have a big steam iron with a separate tank, then my other half moaned about how long it took to warm up and when it did it din't do a good job. So I gave in and bought a new one. I chose this after the reviews and it was middle of the road priceless.Well - I couldn't believe irons could be so different - it heats up instantly, does a blinding job on all my shirts without having to steam the bejaysus out of them. Thoroughly impressed!

Smooth gliding and controllable steam iron
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

This is replacing an old Tefal Aquaspeed. So far, so good, It's not heavy even when full of water. Warms up really quickly. The cord length of 2.5m is spot on. The orange switch on top gives either no steam, ECO steam or full steam. Full steam really gets through the water and creases in heavy jeans etc, ECO steam is fine for most things, and I can still get away with only ironing one side! However the switch is easy to catch and change when I pick up the iron. Temperature control is good, but again I catch the dial when I pick up the iron. The T-ionic soleplate is a dream! It glides beautifully, and the iron tip really gets into the corners. Appears easy to de-calc but not had to do that yet. All in all, a really good iron. It's faults are minor and subjective.

Great quality, heats fast, cable clip is greatly usable. I noticed no cons, highly recommended.
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

With my old 15 pounds iron it took me 15 minutes to iron some of my cloths. With this one it takes less than 5. It's a great iron, solid build, doesn't feel cheap. The cable clip is more useful than I thought, I finally properly handle cable when ironing and it's not getting in the way.Pros:- high quality build, you can feel the quality,- heats fast, I mean it, you get burnt after 15 seconds of plugging it in,Cons:- I don't know anyI highly recommend it, it's not that expensive considering there are much more expensive irons out there and it's definitely of higher quality than the cheap 20 pounds ones.

Not quite as fantastic as the reviews read, but good overall
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

Good iron, used for the first time since receipt yesterday & bought on the basis of good reviews & the free cord guide. I experienced some dripping & it gets through the water tank very quickly, even on the Eco mode. My one criticism about the design is that the steam settings are difficult to see because the symbol is obscured by the red selection button. A soft grip handle would also improve comfort when ironing for long periods of time. The cord guide is a very helpful gadget though, by preventing the cord from getting caught between the ironing table & the iron rest, while ironing - a long term issue of mine! The iron does not come with a jug but the inlet is big enough to fill direct from the tap, although you'd have to make frequent refills. We kept the one from our old iron & most kitchens have a jug of some description.

A real Steam Performer that is lightweight too and does the job easier than the previous model. Excellent Value and this company makes the best Irons in the World in my opinion. After having about 9 Philips irons over the past 20 years or so Only replacing about 5 to 6 of them due to steam failure as to be truthful this is the South East of England and we DO have the chalkiest/hard water that really does clog up the inners of most products that have to hold water (even after emptying them each time after use) and having an Anti Scale device and Auto Clean facility, all that does is just delays the inevitable. This iron is exactly 12 months old and the steam has stopped working altogether (which I feel is poor for a top spec model), as all my other irons have lasted around Two years at least, But one thing we have in our favour is fantastic after sales service from Philips themselves, who will replace the iron free of charge the next day (That's Service).Yes I remember many high spec irons from Philips came with a 3 metre lead and now they seem now to average 2 metres but for some would it not be too much trouble to attach an extension lead as I do and find this not a problem at all.

This is only my 3rd iron in 25 years and my second Philips. I was so impressed with my previous model, which I have had to replace as the steam control slider broke, that I really wanted another Philips iron. I read a lot of the reviews on here and, although they criticised the cord length, I decided to take a chance anyway.I have had it a week now and have used it many times. It is a lovely iron and irons beautifully. I would really like to give it 5 stars but feel that, like other reviewers have noted, there are a few design flaws.Firstly, that cable is FAR TOO SHORT; a whole metre shorter than older models. I am able to get quite close to the socket, but it is near the back door so every time someone wants to go in/out, I have to make a little detour to put the iron on the table and move the board to one side (before, I just needed to move the board a little and could continue ironing). Also, when ironing dresses at the end of the board, the tip of the iron couldn't reach. The steam boost button is located on the underside of the handle. This is not a problem whilst ironing, but every time I pick the iron up, I accidently press the button. It is not a major problem, just annoying. It could even be the way I pick it up!The iron is a little on the heavy side. It is described as lightweight. I would hate to lift a heavyweight iron!!Having said all that, I am very pleased with this iron and would recommend it. I am sure it will work as well as my previous iron. I chose this one because it has similar features to my previous Azur: anti-scale; self cleaning; auto shut down; excellent sole plate.Excellent iron, JUST MAKE THE CABLE LONGER!!!

Faulty rubber skin under handle
Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk

A lovely iron to look at, but several faults. As already mentioned in previous reviews the cord is far too short. Another fault is when ironing an item and holding it ahead of the iron the steam shoots forwards and burns fingers, never had this happen before.I had to return the iron because the 'rubber' coating under the handle started to peel off, it isn't much thicker than skin, feels good to hold but easily tears. This happened with my previous Philips iron, but after many years use, I had barely had a months use out of this one, I think it is something Philips should address.
