Brilliant item quite easy to iron and quiet. Looks very good and handles well.
MichaelGreat Iron does exactly what its supposed to. Very easy to use. One little thing you can not stand the iron up between ironing, they give you a little orange stand to stand it on which is not very convenient , because you need some where to stand the stand.
PhoebeGreat iron, I had two Murphy Richards previously but I do like this one better, easiest iron you will ever use. Once you've had one of these you wont go back to a standard steam iron, this type cuts ironing time in half.
LyntinFabulous speedy and time consuming
AlI love this *stuff* ,,, as the upgraded,,, it's trustworthy,,I vil recommend to all to buy,,,Really got bored of all other brands,,, I would " love" to have this with me,,,,God,,,wish me good luck to have this as early as possible,,, fingers crossed
Cool6This sits on counter top in utility room and is compact and smart The iron is easy to handle and does a good job
frazI've used a number of steam generator irons in recent years, most of which have been Phillips. This is my first experience with a Tefal steam generator. For those new to steam generators, the water is not stored in the iron but in a larger water tank. Unlike a traditional iron the steam usually does all the work and the plate is typically not heated. The advantage of this being that the iron is lighter and less tiring to use, and the tank can usually hold more water than would a traditional iron. For me, steam generators are brilliant. I no longer hate ironing as I don't have to worry about burning clothes with the plate or having a tired arm.In comparison to the Phillips irons this isn't as heavy. Both the iron and the tank, when empty, are lightweight but the iron doesn't feel as sturdy. In fact the button on the handle has a bit of a flimsy feel to it. The construction and build quality generally feel cheaper. This Tefal isn't quite as user-friendly. Although it only takes half a minute to heat the water, there isn't a 'ready' indication like there is on Phillips irons where a light might strobe on the handle. This Tefal also has a temperature setting which is not something I want to be thinking about. This is the first time I've seen a temperature gauge on a steam generator. The steam chord is also a bit shorter than I would like, though it's long enough to reach the board from a nearby work surface. I like the colour scheme. If I was to find fault with this iron it's that it doesn't feel as powerful. When called upon to deal with stubborn creases there doesn't seem to be as much steam available as with my regular Phillips which has a similar price and can blast out constant steam with two quick squeezes.Everything else is a positive. It has a good plate, it's comfortable to hold and easy to fill and empty. It has the de-calc feature which seems standard on steam generator irons. The tank has a slightly smaller footprint compared to similar irons. Overall it does the job but I would suggest looking at other ma
Big RedI've had a few of these steam generator irons over the years, all tefal as i feel the sole plate is nice and smooth.Express Anti-Scale is also the first Tefal steam generator iron with patented removable Scale Collector. This descaling solution makes maintenance easy and keeps your steam generator iron pumping out steam. For convenience, it’s got a 1.8L removable water tank to avoid constant refills, built-in cord storage to keep things tidy, plus an easy-carry lock for safe transportation. It has up to 6.2 bars of pressure, up to 120g/min continuous steam and 400g/min boost. It also has a vertical steam feature. The Tefal steam generator irons i've had previously have been at a highter price. This is just as good even though it is at a more affordable level.Tefal claim that their products are designed for easy repair at the lowest cost for 10 years. Replacement parts will be fast-tracked to 6500+ authorised repair centres worldwide. Which is good to know. The only slight problem for me is carrying it to where I do my ironing as it is quite heavy but I have found that removing the water tank and moving them seperately reduces the weight a lot.
Mrs. D. CarrSo for me, I really am not a huge fan of ironing however I know it needs to be done. This iron at least made it a little more bearable, it's light weigh so I don't feel like I was putting too much effort into it. It glides over clothes nicely so that's a plus. The other problem that I have is that the steam doesn't seem strong enough. There are times when it is ok, but mostly it's not as helpful as I need it to be. Also there is no telling when the steam is ready so it's all guess work and for this price I want a better indication of when steam is ready and I want it stronger. There aren't any other flaws that I have one across and this has made ironing easier so I can't complain. My only real concern is that this is available for £157.90 and I would not pay that personally.
Tamara HarringtonThis is a fantastic steam generator iron that makes ironing a breeze! The large-capacity water reservoir saves multiple trips back and forth to and from the tap while the iron itself has a great glide action that really takes the effort out of my least-favourite household task. One comment to make is that the steam blast isn’t as powerful as I would have expected but is nevertheless fit for purpose and does what I need it to!A pricey investment but one that reaps benefits in terms of convenience!
C. YardleyCabile not long enough
mr barry guthrieI have had a few steam generators to review over the years and this has to be near the top of those i have reviewed before. This is smaller than the last few i have had and as it doenst hold quite as much water as some of the others it is lighter to pick up and move after filling. The iron itself is well made and glides through the ironing perfectly. If i had one issue it would be it doesnt generate quite as much steam as some other generators but this one being light weight means this is a compromise that needs to be made.I appreciat the prices of steam generators put people off but once you have one you wont go back to your regular iron.
I. BiltonAs this is a powerful steam generator iron you’ll find your ironing times being slashed as this helps you get through the creases in no time at all. The steam and hot plate work in harmony removing creases without any effort at all. You’ll need to make sure you empty the anti Calc filter weekly to prevent your iron from oozing brown goop on your white laundry over a period of time should you be in a hard water area.Startup times are fast at just a couple of minutes. Just make sure your ironing board is completely compatible with the sort of iron this is. Length of cable is good and length of chord with stea pipes to iron is good too allowing you to have this on the floor and the iron on the ironing board.
Contributor77So far so good. Only had the iron a week but it was easy to set up and steams well.
ma_marc_drso821dVery effective
sroankeeraghThis is certainly a top of the range, high-performing steam generating iron. It produces lots of steam, can iron the creases out of virtually anything and lasts for hours (literally, it can go for almost 2 hours of constant use!!) And if you need all that, then it's definitely worth picking up, especially with such a good discount on the RRP. It does feel a bit like overkill for the average person though and there are plenty of cheaper options that will do the job without costing anywhere near as much. But if you want the best, then this is the way to go ...
DAZDo glad i got this iron. Takes creases out so easily. Glides lovely over clothes
Roxy9Not has powerful as thought it would be but does the job
derespendif0Surprisingly lighter weight than most steam irons. The soleplate is amazing, it really does flawlessly glide whilst you iron your clothes, it makes ironing much quicker too. My previous iron would find it very difficult to get rid of stubborn creases but this one gets rid of them very easily and quickly.I liked that it came with a door hook hanger to hang any clothes i want to vertically steam.I highly recommend it if you iron regularly and especially if you iron a large amount of clothes at a time.5/5(Click “Helpful” if this helped ^__^)
KarimHad a bigger model and was pleased with it, but the new one is much lighter and sails through the ironing .
