How can you be careful (as it states in the instructions) not to overfill the iron when you can't even see the water through the dark purple tank. How could Bosch get something so simple so wrong? It also drips water despite some fancy anti-drip system that obviously does not work. Have to put a cloth under the ironing board park tray to catch the water. Do not buy.
Milli53Was faulty and needed to return.
PaulineThe colour of the water tank was too dark, I am unable to see the water level without great effort.
VIrons very well on any material BUT you cannot see water level when filling tank which is a big problem and quite dangerous
aliceDangerous iron. Goes through water like, well, water. For one basket of ironing, about 30 smallish items, maybe 3 or 4 shirts, a couple of pairs of trousers and some t-shirts, I usually have to refill it about 4 times and it holds a lot. The main danger is that it spits and sparks water, boiling hot water, out constantly as it irons, causing the clothes to be soaked through, along with the ironing board cover, and the floor in front of it, but the highest danger is when the water lands on my lap as I sit down to iron. My legs are constantly getting badly scalded as are my hands, to the extend I'm going to have to look for a new iron. I've had Bosch before and really liked it, just not this model.
Julie PFound the handle a bit on the small side..
Durham JeanUnfortunately leaks heavily during useWould not recommendWould have returned but I am 8 weeks outside of returns policy. Not sure if I should contact Bosch.
Amazon CustomerThe coloured water tank is far too dark and you cannot see the water level, even against sunlight. It is easy to overfill with water and it might get into the electrics MAKING IT A DANGER. Not enough space between handle and temperature contol, easy for your hand to change temp unwittingly, again a danger if you need a low temp and it gets changed to high thus burning the material. This has happened to me. Spray button too close to your hand, thus spraying water when not required. Power cord far too stiff and not flexible, scrapes itself over ironing. The sole plate is not as smooth as my previous Bosch iron despite it being the same material. All in all a very poor design. I returned mine to the store I purchsed it from. My score should be zero stars, but Amazons system does not permit this. In view of the DANGER of overfilling I feel the iron should br withdrawn from sale and I have had correspondence with Bosch over this issue.
DAVEIron was returned after first use as steam button on the top became detached .The steam button is not easily replaced by a consumer.
Amazon CustomerSteam button ureliable, otherwise would be a nice product and I would love it.
CinI bought a Bosch iron because I had the impression they were good quality, but this iron is disappointing. The water tank is nearly opaque, which makes it impossible to see the water level without the use of a good torch. The sole plate is rough and hard to move over clothing. The steam output is erratic and oftens stops completely while ironing. It's not a bad iron overall, but there are better alternatives at the price.
APOnly lasted a few months. But was impressed with returns service. Full collection and money back. Great after care service
Mrs. C. GreenOh dear - I have to wonder why any company would use a dark colour for the iron. It is impossible to see where the water is. The temperature control moves far too easily. I continuously have fibres from whatever is being ironed left on the sole plate, even though I set the temperature accordingly. Trying to remove these has meant I have had to purchase an expensive iron cleaner. Deposits shoot out of the sole plate making marks on garments even when I have used the anti calc. Length of flex is good but I have little else to be positive about. Will have to find another as using it becomes very frustrating.
KnottyThe plates on the iron started to stick and I have to keep cleaning it not impressed at all probably that's why it was on sale ????
Yvonne PatricksAlthough the Iron works perfectly it has one major flaw as far as I am concerned-You cannot see the Water Level in the reservoir because the Puple colour is too dark!
LYNI've had this iron for around 6 months and have been disappointed with it for all that time.On the positive side:- fits nicely in the hand- glides easily and is relatively light- easy to fill with waterOn the negative side:- Its performance is abysmal - even on a hotter heat, it simply does not remove creases from clothes, the steam jet usually not helping- I find it impossible to see how much water is in the tank - the purple plastic is too opaque. I've tried holding it at various angles and positions near light sources, viewing from all angles, etc., and simply cannot see the water level- The water jet is too powerful, spraying water all over the place- Temperature control is poorly positioned; the temp can be unintentionally changed too readily- steam runs out too quicklyI'm really disappointed with the iron, particularly given that it is a Bosch, annd have reached the point where I'm going to have to buy a better one.
Sheffield ChrisA light and powerful iron spoiled by two things:1. You are warned not to overfill, but it is extremely difficult to see the water level through the deep violet plastic. (The white one might be better.)2. The handle is too close to the temperature control wheel so it's easy to accidentally turn the wheel.

I have had this iron for a week and I am so disappointed. It leaks down the body of the iron , straight on to the wire. I had a Bosch before which you filled from the bottom which was much better. I find it really hard to recommend this product
