angelaI chose to buy this iron based on it being made by a well-known brand. However I was very disappointed. I usually steam ironed most garments with my previous iron where steam could be selected at temperature 2 spot, but I have found that this iron only has steam functionality for temperature 3 spot. Since very few materials can be ironed at 3 spot, I'm now having to dry iron most things which is not what I wish to do. And I'm even finding that the 2 spot setting feels too high for some items labelled 2 spot, so having to turn down to 1 spot. In summary the temperature control is very poor. Also the cord is about 30cm shorter than on my old iron, so it doesn't really reach far enough.Update. Almost 5 weeks after purchasing this iron, the 3-pin plug came apart into 2 halves. I found a broken piece of plastic inside which meant I was unable to repair the plug myself, as this bit was integral to holding it together. However I was pleased that Amazon agreed to replace the product as this was just outside the usual 30-day replacement window. Unfortunately still experiencing the issues identified above with the replacement iron.

Rip Raps Were Fun !!!The front selector dial on the iron I received didn't turn all the way round to maximum, so I returned it for a refund.
Nick YatesRussell Hobbs is a good brand, so when I saw the iron going for such a good price I had to. It arrived quickly it was protected well, its lighter than expected but is still a normal sized iron. It os a very nice colour and heats up really quickly - I hope it lasts a long time!
LadelleI really like this iron and am very happy with it. It is a little light, but glides nicely over the clothes and produces a good amount of steam. My husband realised doesn't like it. He says the steam button is in the wrong place and makes his thumb ache after a lot of use. Don't know if it's relevant but I'm left handed and he is right handed.
Amazon Customervery pleased with this iron
mrs joyce kempI can't complain about this iron at all because it does everything I need it to perfectly. It is fast to hear up and is easy to use. It slides over my clothes easily and never burns them. I can't even explain how happy this makes me as I always have issues with irons burning my clothes. The fact that the iron is purple is a pleasant bonus. This is a very reasonable price and I would highly recommend it!
Kwinko KwankoA good reasonably priced little iron. It heats up quickly and glides through the ironing pile with ease.I should I imagine most people leave the ironing to mount up and I am no exception so had a good amount to test out this iron. Before adding any water I tried it out as a dry iron first on some of its lower temps and found it to perform well. The sole plate is lovely and slips over the ironing really well.I then filled up the water reservoir and tried the steam function. It took a while but once the iron had heated up a bit more the steam flowed nicely and it made short work of my quilt covers. The dial for the thermostat is on the front of the iron not on the top under the handle like most. I found it a bit stiff at first to turn to the steam function and was a bit worried I might break it, once it was turned a few times it became easier but still slightly stiff. Once on steam function it moved round the other temps easily but felt stiff again turning it off the steam function.Using the shot of steam and the spray functions was relatively easy. The shot of steam button is under the handle on top where most thermostat dials are and it was easy to press making short work of the stubborn creases in one of my tea towels that had been put in the tum left drier.Vertical steam worked well too. I tried it on my curtains and was satisfied with the results although I don't tend to use this function in my normal ironing.Lastly the sole plate that I mentioned earlier glides effortlessly over the ironing and I was really pleased with it.I like this iron very much and for a while, at least, look forward to doing the ironing.
ShayaDefinitely impressed with this iron on the whole. Heats up in a jiffy, has a powerful jet of steam, and the price is good. Whilst not exactly short, the cord could be a bit longer. Not too fiddly to top up the water and construction is solid.
RobertThis model seems to be an improved version of the steam glide, being very similar in all aspects except the control dial. On the steam glide it was on the water tank under the handle and was easily knocked, altering the setting. On this new supreme steam the control is on the front and not liable to be caught, however I find it extremely stiff to alter on to steam clean setting, in fact it feels as if it may break in the not too distant future.Apart from its switching control the iron itself performs well, is light and easy to handle and looks good.Unfortunately the stiff switch is a worry and I would be inclined to purchase a different model
J. McNicolIt's nice to have a well-made, solid iron at this price point that heats up super-quickly and can pack a steamy punch. That's the only really special part about the iron: its steam. At first glance it looks a bit plasticky and feels lightweight but it's an iron - if you drop it, you'll probably break it, so don't drop it eh? It heats up quickly, which is perfect for when you're ironing under the kosh (ie with two kids looking for attention), but you'd expect that with 2400W. The steam is the real hero here. Hot jets on demand. Perfect for my shirts.
ArynthI seem to get though irons as if they're going out of fashion so am always interested in new ones! This one is mid range, what I would usually spend on an iron and for that you get a good quality iron with few bells and whistles. On the upside it has a decent water tank for a good shot of steam, it's not too heavy and glides nicely, all things that are essential for painless ironing. It's a decent iron and not too expensive. You can't really go wrong.
S. J. TurnerLovely iron and it performs very well. Light and compact. I like the design, its sleek and the point is good for getting to those awkward places.
Free SpiritAs a big fan of Russell Hobbs' irons, I will start with the positives. All iron manufacturers should take note of the 9ft 6ins (2m 90cms) cord length. It gives excellent options to iron whilst watching TV rather than hemmed in to the nearest socket. It allows ironing along the full length of the board without dragging the plug out.The iron is simple in design and easy to use with a big pulse of steam if needed and there is my first concern. Even ordinary use requires this extra boost on the cotton items. The iron feels very light in the hand. So light that I felt myself pressing down to get rid of the creases. This required tiresome extra effort. It has also been priced in the mid-thirties range. The market in irons is massively over-supplied both between competitors and within the Russell Hobbs range. This allows reviewers to be picky and there is much better value to be had within Russell Hobbs' own stable.UPDATEStopped working after just under a year.
Officer DibbleThis iron is an okay fall back, but for heavy use it gets a bit bulky and frustrating that some of the features aren't as modern as you'd perhaps expect. The cord seems shorter than previous similar irons and I've struggled to keep track on the water levels but in fairness to the brand, I do struggle with my eyesight and as the water section is coloured plastic it's not as visible to check the water line.In all honesty I think you can get a better quality product in the same price range
